  1. Finished!! :D I might fit the LED eyebrows again today, but that would probably be temporary. More pictures later
  2. I had to move the drivers seat all the way to the front and then bend the box in through the rear left door :P 4 cylinder IS200? I didn't know they exist, apart from the Altezzas. Mine's a 2L straight six. Of course it sounds a bit different in real life. The camera isn't that good and the video is compressed :) More sound clips are coming. Stay tuned
  3. Short test: http://www.garaget.org/video/eij6jwp1nkx1
  4. Part 1: Stock muffler - http://www.garaget.org/video/72rc0w4tugxv I've just fitted the HKS muffler and I'm completely satisfied with it :D When cold, it actually sounds less than the stock muffler. When driving there is absolutely no difference inside the car, but behind it the sound is really sporty in high revs. I might upload a temporary sound clip later tonight.
  5. In the states you can buy the IS300 with a five speed manual gearbox.
  6. The box turned out to be a bit bigger than I expected. It was a bit a struggle getting it inside my car :P What does it say?
  7. Finally!! My HKS muffler has arrived and can be picked up. I will record a few sound clips before I fit it and a few more when it's fitted. It turned out to be rather expensive with the shipping (6000kr ~ £480)
  8. Would it be possible to replace the steering wheel with the one from an RX och GS? I really don't like the IS200 steering wheel.
  9. Thanks guys :) Painting the clusters was very easy. I guess the hard part is to make sure the headlights are sealed properly when finished. You can see how I disassembled the lights in this thread: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=49282 - Hopefully I can do it again on friday, with the headlights on my car. I will remove the orange plastic bit as well, I think. It depends on how good the chrome bulbs flash. Thansk mate. I know it wasn't the most solid way of raising the front, but it was a fast solution. Yep, the oven way (see link above). Actually it was harder to make her appear in a pic than to help me out :P Thanks matey. I will provide you with some "genuine" photos of the headlights when they are done, hopefully on friday. That was just a preview photoshop pic. The little plug thingy is my connection for the engine block heater. Don't you have those in Britain? :)
  10. That's what all HID-equipped IS200s have in Sweden. They need the correct ECU to work, as they have the automatically adjusted reflectors.
  11. I apologize for the Swedish text. The post is just copied from another forum. I will translate it as soon as I can.
  12. Just to let you know: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=49288
  13. I really like the look of these OZ Racing Canyon IIs on the IS200
  14. I've been searching for exacly that, but haven't found any. However, next friday I will get my HKS Silent HiPower muffler and make a great soundclip comparing it to the original muffler sound. Cheers Hi lindblom, It would be great if you could make inside outside soundclip for me (us here on forum) :) :winky: I will wait for your post :) btw is your is200 stock? Hi mate, I'll gladly make a lot of sound clips and use the best of them in a small video. I was thinking of comparing inside; idle/revving/motorway cruising and outside; idle/revving/drive by. Stay tuned ;) My IS200 isn't very stock, but concerning the engine nothing has be done to it. I used to have a K&N filter but Lexus replaced it with an original one the last time I had it serviced.
  15. I'm thinking of a refurb as well. My rims have really messy edges I just PSed the rims this way. I know another member has done it, but I'm not sure it looks good on a platinum ice car.
  16. I've been searching for exacly that, but haven't found any. However, next friday I will get my HKS Silent HiPower muffler and make a great soundclip comparing it to the original muffler sound. Cheers
  17. Thanks a lot anyway, mate :) I've just ordered a platinum ice sports grille from one of the Ebay guys. We'll see how it looks when it arrives.
  18. Since my last reply I've been told the super dragger went to someone else. I ordered a brand new Silent HiPower that should have arrived next friday. However, I just cancelled that order because I was just informed that the super dragger buyer didn't pick that up. This is getting quite annoying Fortunately the Super Dragger is somewhat popular. I hope I'll be able to sell it if I find i too loud. EDIT: Call me Mr.'Can't decide' I turned away the offer to buy the super dragger and reordered the silent hipower again. A few HKS Super Dragger videos on youtube scared me :)
  19. I will probably have two of them for sale soon. I'll try and buy the new ones that AAC came up with.
  20. I recently did som research and found out there are a total of 1225 IS200s in Sweden (172 from 2000). Three of them in the town where I live. To get an idea of how rare they are I compared the numbers to the Volvo V70 which is a very common car, 262882 in Sweden and 1058 in my town. The total amount of cars in Sweden is 4,5 million.
  21. I must say I'm utterly impressed with how helpful all of you are. Everyone seems to be willing to share their knowledge. It's very different from Sweden. Thanks a lot guys :D I will check for the amp (or the lack of it) in the afternoon and hopefully pick up some new speakers tomorrow. Cheers Edit: I just checked, and no amp is hiding behind my glovebox. I'm good to go
  22. Great, thanks! So that is the extra amp which I do not want in my car if I'm going to replace my 6x9s?
  23. I've always fancied the electronic *ouipp ouipp* when some cars are locked/unlocked. I don't know about England, but in Sweden these confirmation beeps are very rare. A few cars honk their horns but that's different. A new way of stealing stuff from cars is becoming more and more popular among thieves. It's by using remote lock jammers. Most people don't look at their cars when locking them and therefore don't see if the indicators flash or not. They just trust their remote keys. Now I've got a reason for making my car beep upon locking. I did a quick search and found this article. Just thought I'd share it with those of you who might be interested in doing the same. http://autospeed.com/cms/A_2260/article.html
  24. have a look :shutit: Yeah, obviously, but do I need to remove the glove box or can it be seen from underneath? :P
  25. That's 6,5" isn't it? My original speakers have only two wires each so they are not bi-wired? Yep 6.5 inch. Thats interesting. If they only have two wires they are not bi-wired. Which should mean you can run aftermarket 6x9s from the same output. Do you have the amp behind your glove box? if the rear speakers are different, maybe the Swedish spec Sport does not have the premium sound system it does in the UK? I think the 8 speaker system was optional extra on all IS200s in Sweden. Wierdly though in the spec sheet the premium sound system isn't mentioned anywhere but it exists. There were four different IS200 alternatives in Sweden. IS200 Core (standard) IS200 Sport - Aluminium shift knob, pedals and door sills - Two tone steering wheel - Extra tinted rear windows - Torsen diff, stiffer suspension and strut bars IS200 Executive - Same as Core but with electric rear view mirror (the one inside the car), xenon lights and half leather interior IS200 Limited edition (only 2004 model) - Simply has everything of the optional extras including full leather interior, sat nav and 18" rims. I have no idea if there's an amp behind my glove box. Is there an easy way to find out? Thanks
