  1. Some of you may have noticed my project threads around here. I have received quite a few PMs, reminding me to answer questions in the different threads. I’m finding it hard to keep track of them, so I decided to create this thread, in which I will summarize what I’ve done with the car so far. Most of it is copied from my Swedish project thread and I’ve simply chosen to remove all the text until I have managed to translate it all. If you want info on any of my upgrades, please feel free to ask me. Cheers Thread shortcuts: Ditec paint protection and basic tidy up iPod integration Integrated Sony sat nav New interior TRD front lip New exhaust – HKS Silent HiPower Black headlight clusters and CCFL Angel eyes Sports grille and black horns New rims and black calipers HID Pace Car Strobes TTE-spoiler and LED fever A/C chrome rings New rims and tires... again OEM armrest retrofitted New stereo - JVC KW-AVX710E 7" touch screen DVD 6 x 55W extra lights behind the grille Stainless steel dials Front speakers replaced - Infinity Reference Rear speakers replaced - Infinity Kappa Sub and amp added - Rockford Fosgate ________________________________________________________________________________ 2007-07-08 I have finally bough myself a Lexus IS200. It’s a 2000 model with one owner and 65.000 miles before me. There are currently 1225 Lexus IS200s registered in Sweden, so they are not very common. The amount of registered Volvo V70s is 262.882 :) Anyway, this is how it looks right now: ________________________________________________________________________________ 2008-11-13 A lot has happened to the car. I’ve spent many hours and too much money on upgrades. In the following posts I will now try to summarize what’s been done so far. This is its current state:
  2. It will look really nice when installed. This is my JVC 7" DVD player and Toyota fascia:
  3. Good morning, I'm about to do a projector retrofit on my car, but that means I will have to replace my headlights with IS200 xenon lights (IS300 lights in the UK). My question is, are they possible to manually adjust somehow, since I won't have automatic leveling? Cheers
  4. Thank you :) If you mean the rear, I've already replaced the rear lights with LED ones. I have to admit I'm not perfectly happy with the look of them, but they are really good. Tonight I tried drove to the darkest place around and took a few photos. Not ideal environment or weather, but you get an idea. Low beam - 6000K HID High beam - Original lights + EX3000 Ultra (6 x 55W) Daylight picture of the extra lights
  5. I will certainly do that. I tried to take a few comparison photos last night, but was too foggy. Thanks mate :) Thanks. They will probably get just as dirty as the rest of the front and I'll clean them the same way, using water with high pressure. If I need to, I can quite easily use a cloth or similar behind the grille. There's actually quite a lot of room. So do I. I'm hoping to snap a few ones tonight. That looks like a template for PS or something, what is it? Exacly. And if I fit a magnifying glass to the front, the moose will catch fire :D
  6. Thanks :) They are connected to the high beam, so no one will ever see them, but I will certainly see the moose before I hit it :D
  7. Finally finished! The most exhausting job I've ever done with my car turned out to be refitting the sports grille. It took a lot of curses to get it mounted again.
  8. So do I :) They are currently fitted with 6 x 55W bulbs but they can be replaced with 100W bulbs or even HIDs if the result isn’t satisfying enough. The xenons, though, are jolly expensive Thanks :) I will post more pics tonight, let you know how it turns out. In Sweden you can see pretty much any type of vehicle fitted with extra lights, cars, trucks, buses, ATVs, snowmobiles etc. Some people even seem to drive around in extra lights with cars fitted to them :D
  9. First of all, I know my car is a bit dirty ;) I'm not sure if you have these sort of extra lights in Britain, but here in Sweden they are very popular. Unfortunately they are even more popular among thieves. This is my way of dealing with the problem while keeping it discrete. I'm not finished yet. More pictures are coming tomorrow. Cheers EX3000 Ultra To be continued...
  10. No worries, mate :) The satnav control panel is easy to clean if you remove it from the console. I washed mine in my kitchen sink. Unfortunately I don't know what the "tool" is called in English, but I will upload a picture in a few minutes. Edit: Just make sure the control panel is completely dry before connecting it to the car again.
  11. Actually, one of my first ideas was a similar color, Standox Red Rocket. Amazing effect Black is a nice color, but the smallest amount of dust on it ruins the looks instantly :) great news mate, i'm sure you can sort a great paint job just dont go over the top :) Thanks! :) I'm glad to hear you like my project. Yes the pics do look great but what do these buttons do where the drink holders use to be There for the newer style inbuilt sat nav mate Exacly. I'm hoping to finish the control panel next weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  12. I've watched Overhaulin' a lot, at least until the part in the episodes where everyone starts crying and yelling :) Their paintjobs are excellent, but they are so much more complex than they seem. I don't think I could come up with a similar idea, i'm afraid. That sounds more like my initial idea. I've been in contact with a company that may be able to sponsor my car with a few custom carbon fibre details. White + CF = nice Thanks, mate. That MF white looks excellent. Since I'm going to carry the paintshop logos they want to go for something head turning, but I don't fancy flames or such, so I wil make sure they make it subtle :) That Aston looks amazin, very nice colour indeed ;) I have to agree. At least some kind of white pearl it will be. Thanks :) Thank you, mate :) Until now I've spent about £8000 on very discrete upgrades. Now It's time to make a few heads turn. Since the IS200 is very rare in Sweden (only 272 of my model year) a lot of companies seems interested in sponsoring my project. I'm looking forward to installing a nice sound system later on.
  13. Hi, My IS200 won the first prize in its class at a car show this summer. Since then I've been tempted to go for some bigger upgrades. One of them includes repainting the whole car and now I've found a paint shop that are willing to sponsor my car with a new paint job. I've recently fallen in love with a white/black IS on the ISfanatics forums, but the paint shop is specialized in custom paint jobs so the possibilities are more or less endless. I’m therefore asking you for help, please feel free to post whatever suggestions you have. Thanks :)
  14. Well, I've just done what many of you would like to do, and I must say it's a very simple solution. However, yet again I'm to tired to translate everything to English but I think the pictures pretty much says it all. I promise I will take care of the translation later. I'm in the Swedish future of 1:12 and it's time to go to bed :) För att få min nya huvudenhet att smälta in i mittkonsolen köpte jag alltså en ram från Toyota.
  15. Good evening my fellow Swede, I suppose you have already seen my pictures of the TRD skirt mounting; http://www.euro10k.com/lexusownersclub/php...hp?p=7263#p7263 I'm not entirely sure what the rubber sealing does but i guess it's there to prevent rattling. Cheers and god kväll Patrik
  16. There is the slightly enhanced IS300 from L-tuned. http://motortrend.automotive.com/40291/112...s300/index.html
  17. I did it a few months ago. This is how I did it: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=49282
  18. Thanks mate, Yep, now I do. Kind of hard to see the blue wheelnuts though
  19. Thank you for the advice, this one would fit: ULGT2-1875-1GL - 18"X7.5" - 42 - 100+114.3 X 5 GOLD Tyre's would be: 225 40 - 18 Greats, Luke That's exacly the specs that my wheels are. I noticed they are just millimeters inside the wheel arches when they are pointing straight forward. However, these were sold with the L-tuned IS300 so I suppose they are legal.
  20. Hi, I've pretty much decided to buy myself a DVD-player for the car. The one I'm looking at is the Pioneer AVH-P4000 and now I'm looking at prices in Europe, but I don't know of any British car audio stores. Could someone please give me a link? I tried Ebay.co.uk since I've bought a lot of stuff there, but there are no P4000 units listed. However there is another similar unit called AVH 4050 at pretty much half the price of the P4000 in Sweden. That seems a little suspicious and the 4050 isn't listed on the Pioneer website. Does anyone of you know what it is? Cheers Patrik
  21. Very nice! The rings make the center console look at least a couple of years newer :)
  22. They look nice. Have you thought about painting your clusters as well? These are mine: And yes, they are very bright :)
