  1. are the replica one's that come up every now and again any good?
  2. i think I have probably lost £1000 in 6 months of ownership, however any other car I'd want to replace it with have also dropped in price so its all relative really. all i will say though is that my IS has been the only car I've had where nothing has gone wrong, so far all its cost me in essential parts is a sat nav update disk and a pair of wiper blades. goes to prove that its worth paying a little extra for a solid car with a full serice history. even though there are cheap examples around i wouldnt trust one that looked like it had been abused or had anything other than a full service history.
  3. you can get a conversion kit from zenons.biz on ebay for £12, thats what I'm running.
  4. just put any cd in the reader, and if its comes up with "invlaid disk" on the screen then you know that it works becuase its reading the disk. i have an outdated cd from my 99 IS200 (the one that came with the car) i'll sell you that if your interested however not sure if the 99/03 system are same?
  5. cars are so cheap nowadays if you just want something to run into the ground you may aswell buy a complete sh*tter for sub £500 and forget about economy, and think of all the money saved. my dad just sold a 98 2.0l Primera with 130k for £450 and there was nothing wrong with it at all, easy had another 130k in it. Big undesirbale petrol cars (like Primera's, Carisma's, Mondeo's, Vectra's) to name but a few go for pennies at the moment.
  6. Accord for my money. Better reliability and a lot more executive looking than a vw/seat. I know you said no Fords but the Mondeo ST TDCi (or whatever its called) is a hell of a car, stylign wise its not to my taste, but it drives really well and will be cheaper. Guessing the 306 is worth around the 1k mark?
  7. I was tempted by them when I seen them but I asked about the offset and they are et40, so think they would stick past the arches. plus staggered offsets is a must on is200's in my opinion.
  8. there you go mate; http://www.pureklas.co.uk/ sure they are based in the midlands, i could be wrong though.
  9. Coventry isnt too far from Nottingham is it? There is a company called Pure Klass in Covnetry that advertise on some of the VW forums and they are very good.
  10. whats your name mate ill add ya daniel hodson i'll have a look in now and see how many names i recognise
  11. just joined the LOC facebook group :)
  12. EP Racing sell a replica TTE kit I think, Google them, sure they have a website. PM a price and some pics when you have the 18's up for sale, will definately have them if the price is reasonable.
  13. TTE front bumper and Coilovers would be good. Also if you buys some 20's I'll buy your sport pack 18's??
  14. Happy days!! Spoke to credit card company (Capital One) and transaction has now been placed in dispute. I need to write a letter to Need A Part, with all my evidence, copy Capital One in, and as of the day they recieve the letter they have 14 days to collect the wheels at my convenience, otherwise I get the money back and keep the wheels. Advice: Alway pay for everything by credit card :)
  15. You're spot on Steve. Nowhere in their T&C's does it say that by signing for the delivery I become fully liable and responsble for the contents of it. All I am signing when I sign for the dlivery is to say that it arrived and upon initial inspection were not damaged by the delivery company. Using this against me is unlawful, and their is no way I am being liable for a single penny of the cost to return the item. I will speak to consumer direct and the credit card company and see if there is anything I can do. They have breached a contract that we both agreed too, and that I have in writing, and I shouldn't be liable for any costs because of this.
  16. Unfortunately its in the small print in their terms and conditions that I agreed to when I subtmitted the quote, ie by signing for the goods (or appointing a representative to sign for the goods on my behalf) I am accepting them. I will have a look to see if their is any regulations relating to this.
  17. yeah after the return of the wheels. I hope there is no funny business about condition or them not signing for the wheels on return etc because this company seems like a pack of cowboys tbh So i'll loose the £35 or whatever it'll cost to return them.
  18. Right chaps, I have spoken to 247 Spares and they were actaully pretty helpful. Unfortunately because I instructed the delivery company to leave the wheels with my neighbour and he signed for them I am liable for the return cost. But I am recieving a full refund on all money paid to Need A Part. Does this seem fair?? Lesson learned the hard way, only ever sign for things persoanlly because people are always trying to rip you off :tsktsk:
  19. a lot of big cars are dropping in value lots, a mate of mine just bought a 1997 Merc C36 AMG for £3500!! Another mate just paid £6500 for an Audi TT 225. Make me realise what I d*ck I was to pay £4599 Only 6 months ago for my 1999 Lexus IS200, car prices have dropped massively since :( Some of the big BMW's and Lexus' are getting outrageously cheap too.
  20. Many thanks for all the reply's guys, it is very much appreciated. I was really stressing about this but your support has been a great help! I am going to contact the credit card company to hopefully stop the payment, then send Need a Part a strongly worded letter copied in to 24/7 spares with a copy of the quotation enclosed. If all else fails (I know this from myself at work as I work for a small engineering consultancy) I will threaten them with legal action as that normally makes them a little more proactive!
  21. I paid on the Credit Card - and its a Capital One card with online fraud guarantee, so I might contact them and see if there is anything they can do? I'm guessing it has something do with 24/7 Spares system of contacting the breakers yards. But basically I have a quote saying "Vehicle Details:LEXUS IS 1999 ... Quote Details: Part 1: WHEELS ( ALLOY X SET 4 ) - SET OF 4 18\" 6 SPOKE IS200 \"SPORT\" ALLOYS (AS PICTURE) - £300.00 - 30 Day Guarantee - Next Day DeliveryCondition: UsedAdditional Notes: Please can you call direct on ________ ask for ____ thank you" And a quote number There invoice just says "IS200 alloys x 4"
  22. The problem is all it says on their invoice (not the 24/7 parts request) is "IS200 alloys x 4" and technically I have recieved that. So basically they have royally stitched me up
  23. Basically I wanted to get a set of the 18" Sport Pack alloys and I tried a request via that parts sourcing website 24/7 Spares. Filled in a request form, and provided a picture of the wheels I wanted. Basically I got a quote through saying this; "Vehicle Details:LEXUS IS 1999 ... Quote Details: Part 1: WHEELS ( ALLOY X SET 4 ) - SET OF 4 18\" 6 SPOKE IS200 \"SPORT\" ALLOYS (AS PICTURE) - £300.00 - 30 Day Guarantee - Next Day DeliveryCondition: UsedAdditional Notes: Please can you call direct on ________ ask for ____ thank you" So I rang up and ordered them from the company "Need a Part" who had provided the quote via the 24/7 Spares site, they arrived yesterday, and unfortunately my neighbour signed for them off the delivery company. When I got home from work to collect them from neighbours house I looked and they were 17" 5 spoke normal alloys. I telephoned the parts company and they said I never asked for 18" 6 spoke alloys and are refusing to return them, despite my quote from 24/7 Spares clearly stating this. Saying that all it says on his system is "IS200 Alloys x 4" When I ordered them I asked him to confirm that they were the wheels I asked for, and he said they were. What are my rights as a consumer here if they have sent me the incorrect parts? I can return them under the guarantee but I will loose the money I paid to have them delivered, and have to pay to return them myself. Plus there will almost certainly be a hidden restocking charge :tsktsk: I'm absolutely furious to be honest about the whole thing, but I dont know what else I can do about it? I tried calling 24/7 Spares direct and there phone just rings off, I have sent them an email, but i dont hold out much hope of contacting them.
  24. The tyres on them are pretty good though B) I was going to refurb them anyway as I'm going to mirror polish them.
  25. thanks chaps, they have some at my local breakers for £350, need a refurb but no major kerbing, seems like a good price.
