  1. Maybe my reply was a bit naive chaps. I never realised there was so many problems with the new IS220/250 - maybe I have lead a bit of a sheltered life with my IS299. Was considering upgrading to an IS220d but by the sounds of it wont be worth it.
  2. Cant see extended warranty being needed on a fairly new Lexus? What could possibly go wrong? My IS is 10 years and has nearly 140k on the clock and has wanted nothing its entire life. Throwing money down the toilet in my opinion.
  3. The first few examples seemed extraordinarly expensive, but £299 full fitted for a timing belt and tensioner using all genuine parts doesnt seem bad at all. Are you sure it wasnt meant to be £399 Although I'm guessing they'll charge an extra arm and leg to do all the auxilary belts to make up the difference, probably convenitnetly reccommend that the water pump is on its way out too.
  4. If I was a baller and had some flashy rims on I'd well go for the clear cystal badges.
  5. The arches and running boards are pretty cool. Would have went for a bit more of a WTCC look myself rather than drifty horribleness.
  6. Their rebranded BC Racing. Look on ebay, totally identical apart from the different coloured anodizing. Personally I'd be very wary about buying them off a website with so little information on it. Still though probably better handling and more reliable than Teins of the same price.
  7. Sikaflex is what you want. Strong as hell but still flexible. What I used on my old Golf to stick the arch trims back on when i had to cut all the metal arch to stop the wheels rubbbing.
  8. I still havnt tried it. I wrote the instructions down somewhere I'll try and find them out. Basically it involves flicking a series of switches in a certain order that will reset the headunit and hopefulyl make it recognise CD2.
  9. I have used the Bosch plugs that come with the £35 ebay service kit and they work fine. Forget paying £60 for a set of plugs
  10. Mine didnt work with the 13902, but I recently found some information on the American IS site which tells you how to reset the 13902 so that it will work. I havnt tried it yet as I cant be bothered but will get around to it one day.
  11. Thats is awesome. I wonder if there is any updates yet?
  12. Have emailed Phil @ Driftworks back and will confirm prices. Then if anyone is definately interested I will PM the mods and get a thread up in group buys.
  13. I would have done them grey or silver. Red calipers scream mid-90's Max Power!
  14. I shall find out discount in pricing chaps. Will depend on how many sets ordered, but even at 10% discount it brings the price down nicely.
  15. Enjoy your IS for what it is. If you want a fast car sell it and buy something else.
  16. Think pics would be helpful. The ride height may be slightly lower if its a Sport. It is possiblt that the add on kit was bought as an optional extra.
  17. Have spoken to Phil at Driftworks, about the possibility of a group buy. These are the coilovers in question, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HSD-Coilovers-for-Le...A1%7C240%3A1318 They are available in either normal (more for track use) or smooth (more for daily use.) £685 is already a great price (especially when compared to Tein) considering they are European made, have mono-tube dampers and come with pillowball top mounts (equivalent spec Tein's would be £1200+) Discounts available for 4+ buys, 8+ buys or 12+ buys. I just want to gather intrest so I can finalise some prices. Would be looking at ordering them for around the middle of April.
  18. Spend the extra and get a unit that is a decent brand IMO. Although £400 fully fitted is a good price if it includes the extras needed to make it work in an IS200, especially if your car has sat-nav.
  19. Size is not particuarly relevant, probably just have to remove the arch liner if you want to have them tucked nicely. The major issue is the width and offset of wheels you want to run. Not many manufacturers make wheels in offsets to suit the IS.
  20. For normal day to day driving you'll not notice any difference at all. So i'd get the car you like best and is best condition instead of basing your choice on LSD.
  21. I have got H5DAS (looks like Hodas my nickname) and always displayed it as H5DAS when it should be H5 DAS. I think the police are only bothered when you misrepresent characters like 6's to like 0's etc. Although my mate has an Escort RS and he got pulled and fined for having Ford badges on his plates where the GB logo should be!
  22. Anyone interested in a group buy on these? Would be tempted with a 15% discount bring price under £500. 10 weeks lead in time if not in stock is not good though.
  23. I was bidding on those too my limit was £250 to be honest. £315 plus postage is crazy money for second hand poverty spec Teins. Few years ago before the strength of £ vs Yen collapsed sure the yare only £450 new! I think I might just save a bit of cash and get some brand new HSD Smoothy's. At least they come with top mounts, are mono-tube, damping adjustable and come in comfy spec for road use.
