  1. You can get DIY leather dying kits, they work but require lots of patience. http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_R...CFQ4i3god6j6pDA My mate changed some knackered tan leather TT seats to black to match the rest of the interior in his Golf, it done a good (not flawless though!) job to be fair.
  2. Thanks for the reply. These could be just what I'm after. Not got the cash for the SS kit, and on the SS have heard without buying the top mount kit they knock. Not really fussed about adjustable damping or EDFC, just want to go lower.
  3. How much lower was left to go on the threads? Do you get any knocking without the aftermarket top mounts?
  4. The new Passat CC is absolutely gorgeous. Only 4 seats could be a stumbling block for some though. Certainly if I had more money and was looking to replace the IS it would be one of those.
  5. White looks so sexy, I'd do the roof and mirrors black then do the wheels with a colour coded white outer lip, and black centre :)
  6. Mike "The Polisher" http://www.the-polisher.com is who you need. Very well respected guy in the VW show car scene. My mate couldnt remeber but thinks he was charged £80 a wheel to chrome coat his BBS centres.
  7. I dont really think the police seem that bothered about bad spacing on a Lexus, they seem to mostly clamp down on boy racers. I've been running my private plate as H5DAS on my IS200 and never been pulled, however my mate has an RS Turbo and got pulled and a £30 fine for having a Ford badge in the corner on his plate instead of a GB sign!
  8. There is a guy in Glasgow that can do a chrome effect powdercoat, my mate his just got his split rim centres back and they look immense. Plus with them being powder coat they wont strip or discolour as easily as a chrome coating. I can get the contact details if you're interested.
  9. Lowering springs with stock shock absorbers give horrible ride quality, and make your stock shocks break in double quick time, in the long term you'll end up upgrading to coilovers anyway so save your money. I think when I do my car I'll be going to for Tein SS, seems like the best value kit.
  10. Do Variant 3's knock using the OEM top mounts?
  11. So by the time the top mount kit has been added to stop it knocking, it nearly makes sense to get the TTE's. Although for the £1000 the TTE coilovers would be you could have Superstreet's with the top mounts and the EDFC contoller.
  12. Hahaha This is my favourite one though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8jvTwHbg6M Probably the best video on Youtube Cop "Are you a dancer?" Man "Nah I'm just drunk"
  13. Both Singh's and Is200Sam's are my favourite's. Dont think I'd want to drive either of them daily though with them both running camber, big drops and 19's.
  14. I have both, I will compare the depths tonight. I hope the round caps fit as they'd look so much better.
  15. Unfortunately, I guess it would be the same as the 18's use the same centre caps as the 17's.
  16. What would those look like on 6 spoke 18" sport pack wheels? I definately prefer the look of those to the 5 pronged style centre caps I have on at the moment.
  17. Well I have the money back through the credit card (Capital One disputes team were excellent, very effecient and very helpful), and the breakers yard have made no attempt to come and collect the wheels despite me emailing them to ask when they are going to pick them up. Anyone know how long I need to wait before I sell them on? I dont want to have to keep them forever, although technically they'll never be mine to sell
  18. i seen those too, i think the fronts would stick past the arches due to the offset/wdith combo.
  19. Have a look at my ICE install thread, if you want the dimensions of my box give me a shout
  20. JVC are very good now, really upped there game over the last couple of years, in terms if both value and SQ.
  21. if your planning on spending that much money i'd go for this http://www.bassjunkies.com/?pid=33631&...rce=subcategory
  22. Thanks Wozza, £35 for the fascia and lead is pretty good value. Swaying towards going for an aftermarket unit now!
  23. Thanks Wozza. Now i will have to make my mind whether I fix the standard headunit or go for something else :) The cost of replacing it all adds up once I consider cost of adaptor leads and fascia on top of the headunit, but it does mean I can have a better headinit and not have to worry about Grom adaptors, plus get DVD playback and bluetooth for the mobile too. Decisions, decisions
  24. Sorry I have read this and ended up a little confused, if I want to change to a non-standed headunit and keep the factory sat nav working is this possible? If possible, what parts do I need and who can supply them?
  25. Mine has just started doing this today :( First of all I'm going to try as above, taking it apart and giving it a good clean. Then if thats no good try here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Faulty-Lexus-IS200-a...id=p3286.c0.m14 Although makes me wonder if its worth just replacing it with a non-factory one, however not sure how this would upset the factory sat nav, and having built an install workign around keeping the factory unit seems like but of a waste. Something like this though is a good looking unit http://www.bassjunkies.com/index.php?pid=3...ow=expand_image and if i could sort out the correct fascia I think it would look fairly ok.
