  1. Depending on how many miles your car (condition of stock shocks) has done I'd save the money and just go for Tein springs. They say that they only lower like 30/20mm but in reality its a lot lot more. Have a search on here for lowering, I think it gives the car a good stance, and considering their a fifth of the price of coils, cant argue. However its your money, depends how long you intend on keeping the car. As for the other questions 1. See above (not really in my opinion) 2. Yes but you'll probably need somewhere to redo the suspension geometry 3. Trial and error 4. Pay the extr for HSD's in my opinion, meant to be the best money can buy.
  2. If money wasnt an object I'd go for HSD coils from Driftworks. Think there about £700. Dont know anybody with them on an IS but heard nothing but good things about them on a few peoples 200SX's/Silvia's.
  3. With the Lexus IS having really high offset of the shelf deep dish just isnt avilable. My thoughts would be custom made Image wheels http://www.imagewheels.co.uk, SSR wheels (Vienna Dish 2 for 2 for example) from http://www.tokyo-express.co.uk/ssr/index.html or import something JDM from the likes of RB Wheelstore in the States.
  4. If you'll post or have anyway of getting it to Newcastle then I'll have it.
  5. I really want to lower mine, but at 130k I'm assuming its unwise to put lowering springs on? As far as I can tell they are still the original shocks, although they do appear to be in good condition as most of the 130k are motorway miles done early in the cars life. Dont want to fork out for lowering springs then realise 6 months later I need new shocks aswell. How do the Tein springs affect the ride comfort?
  6. My mate sold his 03 plate Sport last week with similar mileage for £4k. Whoever bought it got a bit of a bargain but he was after a quick sale and had it for sale at book price for weeks with no intrest at all.
  7. Sounds good. Will be interested to see the pics. Hope I can pick some up for as much of a bargain as what you paid.
  8. Genuine Lexus/Toyota only I would have thought. Was the case with my ATF.
  9. Try HIC. I'm 21, 4 years NCB and live in a really high risk postcode. Just renewed for £780 Fully comp with protected NCB. Alternative option would have been £580 TPFT, but worth extra £17 for FC. Cheapest quotes off Confused.com was £1200.
  10. Did you come up with anything on this ? Well I finally had a chance to look at this (putting the 17's with winter tyres back on while its snowy) and the mounting depth for the 18's is definately more than 17's. It therefore are a fact that 11 spoke caps would fit the 18" sport pack wheels. It would be helpful is someone could post a dimension of the depth of 11 spoke centre caps so I could confrim before I splash £70 on them?
  11. Good site that mate for genuine parts, sure those prices are slightly less than the main dealer. When I called Lexus Newcastle about the front lip sure they said more like £140.
  12. Couldnt see the point in buying a manual, the IS200 is a slow car anyway so its all about the extra comfort of the automatic in my opinion.
  13. I want one too :( How much did it cost?
  14. Had no problems with mine, only about 3" where I am though. Having the snow mode helps. Should really put my 17" wheels with Wredstein winter tyres back on, but cant be bothered for the sake of a couple of days.
  15. ANybody have HSD coils? Seems like a reasonable price and good kit.
  16. Anyone done this? I fancy changing the colour of my 18" Sport wheels as i dont really think the stock light greyish colour they are now suit to well.
  17. Prefer leather. Chrome gearknobs are very tacky in my opinion.
  18. 1. The enermous numberplate reccess on the boot, looks really really silly. 2. The way the wheel offset/stud pattern combo is pretty unique to the IS making buying aftermarket wheels a nightmare. 3. The way that a constant line is followed by the reccess in the bottom of the rear bumper and then along the bottom of the door but the front bumper is smooth. 4. Rear way too high on non-sport models. 5. The rear lights. I wish they were just red like on most cars. They were novel 10 years ago but have been ruined by the boy racer scene. All of the above I tend to fix on my car! And finally 6. The way you cant see the back of the boot when reversing (not that you can on most saloon cars so guess that a bit weak!) Although the good points far outweigh any of the niggly bits!
  19. Have a look at my install for the RF 360 Box (the one controlled by Bluetooth) its a great piece of kit, main reason I went for mine was so i could keep the stock headunit and not mess with the factory Sat Nav. Install wise have a look a JL stuff, real good for the money. Have a look at Wozza's boot built in the ICE section, that sounds sort of similar to what your going for. I just kept my install real simple so I can remove the box when I need to get work stuff in the boot.
  20. E46 M3's are getting cheap, thats what I'd be going for. Or possibly an RS4, their cracking cars aswell. Another favourite of mine that would be a nice upgrade from the IS that is still just as stylish and comfortbale but with a lot more horsies would be a Merc C43 AMG.
  21. LS400 in the banger racing! And unlike some of the Jags, Rolls etc this one still had the original engine and box in. Didnt last long, think it took a front end bash and wouldnt start again (probably the complicated electric systems compared to other cars)
  22. Might possibly get them to fit if you flare the arches right out, or put those pretty shoddy looking (in my opinion) extnesions on. Seen people go even wider on the US Lexus OC site.
  23. Where is the drain plug for the system? Do I need to take bottom engine covers off?
  24. Aplogies if this is me being thick for not knowing/lazy for not reading whole thread, but what kind of spiltter is that? Really like it, nice and subtle.
