  1. Im also thinking battery as well...mine were having same symptoms as yours and it's turned eventually the battery was on its way out. When was your battery last changed if you know at all? Plugs maybe too?
  2. Totally disagree...as many would complain if no info was given out by Lexus when this problem first came to light, infact well done Lexus for making us aware. Also you cant expect to keep tens of thousand of airbags in stock when there was limited buys prior to this recall. just look forward to a loan car and some free future for the inconvience.
  3. When speaking to Lexus leicester they said they don't keep many airbags in stock and the recall requires over a million units to be made!
  4. 100% agree with above comment! keep the old exhaust even if it looks battered and dirty, you will regret it later when you want to go back to factory! Depending on how much money you want to throw at an exhaust they range anything from £450+ back axle back boxes from the uk. I personally had an M2 exhaust imported from the USA but with constant drone, I wish I kept the old exhaust. invidia is a nice system from what I've heard... keep us updated on what you decide to get
  5. You won't go wrong with a good example is250. As long as it has been maintained at the intervals and service annually with a clean history you will be fine. Personally from owning my is250 auto I've never had any major issues like gearbox or engine problems...only things I've had done is the water pump as mine is at 83k on a 11 year old is250. There can be iterating noises from brake pads, callipers, etc but as long as you take some interest in greasing things up when needed you will have a great time with the car. Wish you well
  6. just to add my 2pence here, i had a knocking noise from the front wheel and when i took it to Lexus Leic they said it seems as if you MAY have a dry wheel hub/bearing.. in the end it turned out to be my brand newish Blue Print brake pads, which i changed to Mintex and wala the noise gone! Wish you well mate
  7. I wouldn't have worried too much about the box as i actually had one so I'm not speculating. No one is sat at the other end of your insurance monitoring your driving on a daily basis and that's the part you need to forget about. Some insurance companies give out some healthy discounts with these boxes installed so really depends on much the difference is. Also my box was hard wired in behind the dash quite simply.
  8. Eh?? Of course it does...whole point of it is to 'check' your driving habits.. i.e if you are doing 60 in a 30 zone... also my point being 'it didn't do anything' meant I could drive 100mph in a 30 area and still get a healthy report at the end of each month stating I'm there is nothing wrong with my driving. The box is merely used in accidents to see truely the events of your driving at the point of an RTC and to determine your driving speed/hard braking.
  9. I have had a box fitted into my car few years ago with an ex insurance company and it really didn't do anything in terms of checking how I drive etc. It would record how fast you drive on what roads, hard braking, time of day of driving etc.. i am quite a spirited driver and it wouldn't give me a negative recording as monthly the company would give 'bonus miles' for being a good and safe driver box i think is used for accidents to determine how fast you was driving or braking if involved in a RTC. After 2 weeks of installation I kind of forgot it was even there!
  10. Have you looked into EBC Ultimax pads...they state no shims are needed to install them priced £29.88 on ebay for front pads
  11. Yes still using the shims... Caliper pins were sanded and re-greased with the new pads... how old are your current pads Ishaq? seriously I didn't think it would have been pads, as the noise sounded a lot louder like it there was something major wrong. noise is was very deceiving is your noise as following video? https://youtu.be/p2jx7AwvfLY Paresh
  12. Hello guys, just to update on my situation...noise has gone!!! i changed my blueprint pads which were 8 months old and it very good condition to some mintex ones and noise has gone!! my mechanic said the pad could have become hardened etc, but noise has gone completely now!
  13. It's a nice example, but as we all know we don't always get the price We think a car is worth... like you say, my main concern is having no warranty on the car...just basically sold as seen and it can be a big risk especially with some of the common complex problems an is250 can bring.. I've left it for him to contact me if and when he wants to lower the price.
  14. ive got his reg plate and looks clean and genuine...AT quoting £10.8k for sale value... ive asked the question if he is prepared to lower the asking price from £13.8k but seemed inclined to budge at this stage.
  15. Looks really good...as she also been Lowered? Back end is peachy 👍🏾
  16. Ah yes I've just seen it now on AT..looks nice and very low mileage but £14k so out of my range.
  17. nope, didnt get get a call back so im assuming someone paid the price listed or close to it.. where is this other one you have seen?
  18. i thought the same too, but why has the rear bumper got sensors for then? yes im waiting for lexus leic to call back and try and take it from there...im not travelling 100 miles to see it, if they only going to knock off £250. I really wanted this post to shine to any previous owners or owner to see how they got on with it.. i remember buying my current is250 from toyota barnsley, a week after a member (former) part exchanged it. They suffered a big hit in terms of the price i paid, lets try Toyota got over £3k in a week!! Plus the previous owner was a nice bloke and gave me a whole list of things done to the car. fingers crossed if i can struck a deal
  19. Lexus leicester have said they will see what they can do with price at sidcup and get back to me by tomorrow... im hoping to strike a deal as I don't want to put more and more money into my Lexus when 55 plates only worth 3-4K now..shame parts and services are not heavily discounted for cars over 10 years. Paid £700 few weeks on her for new water pump, calipers, service including all filters 😞
  20. Hi It hasnt mentioned rear camera in the Ad, and also via the pictures i can see sensors on rear bumper... like you said, they did try and take off £500, but at £11k or even slightly less at £10750 is seems more appealing than £12k as mileage is slight higher than i want.
