  1. My unit was showing ERR 1 when i changed it, may just be that the laser needs cleaning like jomo says, but i found it only coming up with ERR 1 when playing copied / burned disc's, the unit played originals fine, is this also the case with yours???
  2. No blue tooth for me yet, think it's extra 90 quid, may do this some day, sorry i cant review mate.
  3. Best of luck hodaz, just do not rush it, fill and sand until you are very happy with finish before painting, as this will then show up any blemishes, take your time. The JVC units are good, ipod playback is slow, not ages, but not instant either, but i have a 8GB SD card full of music with album artwork that i use all the time, so i dont need to bother plugging in the ipod at all, apart from the slow ipod playback, JVC are really good value for money. My one has Sat nav built in, discontinued product, got it on the cheap ;) Remember to put up your pics also :)
  4. Thats a nice unit you've opted for, Best of luck, look forward to the pic's. Dunno what's going on with Aztec's picture walk thru, it would be handy for you.
  5. JVC all the way!!!!!! Just my opinion tho! Dont do the cheapo ones off ebay, save up & buy a JVC. With phone kit without phone kit Pioneer This has no phone, & smaller 6.1" Screen, & no SD card slot. cheaper option tho! Much cheaper units if no DVD!!!!!!
  6. Allright only bone, i'll tell u what i know. Most buy the autoleads fascia, which gives you the option of single / double din, which fits perfectly, but colour & finish does not match the dash, so i went down DJ wozzas route of filling / sanding & painting to match,CLICK with drying times all in you could do this in a day but it will have to be fitted once totally dry, in total this would take all weekend, there is a original lexus replacement, unsure of part numbers but is more expensive and doesn't look so good, so your first decision there. If you go down the auto leads fascia route you will require slightly longer bolts to fit the stereo to the fascia as the lex ones are very short. If you have a sport or se 200, then you will need the autoleads amp bypass cable, disconnect the amp located under glovebox, and reout the cable to head unit, if you have nav, then another box of tricks is required.CLICKY Taking the dash apart and fitting the unit is the easy bit, there is a picture walkthru from another site.LINK This is how mine turned out.PIC Best of luck. Deckie.
  7. Can't beleive i've only just found this thread Patrik, That is one stunning Lex you've built yourself there!!!!! great work, i'll be looking out for more additions - if there are any left to make :)
  8. Great shout ormi !!!!!!!!! Sounds like a plan!!!! cant think of anything big that i need, but service due shortly!!! I'll be keeping an eye out :winky:
  9. Nice & shiny Col - lookin good :)
  10. I doubt that lexus used water based paints when 200's came to production, (maybe the very last of them may have had it)as water based is a recent thing. No problems to clear coat / lacquer over Black as thats what i've done on my bumpers & kit after having them painted. I used solvent based paint as i could still get the colour mixed in solvent, but was told by the company that supplied my paint that they would no longer be replacing solvent based colours once stock ran out, will be water-based from now!! But your right about the alloy wheels japthree, the 5 spoke alloys are notorious for flaking lacquer / paint.
  11. As for your Gold badge Ormi, you will have to e-mail admin Steve & he will change you to gold member.
  12. Happy Birthday Bud, Sorry to hear your working it, Aren't Moles always busiest at night ??? Was thinking of getting you one front speaker as a present!! :)
  13. Gutted Col, Bad timing for me, i'm back offshore Monday 29th June so i wont make it, good on you for getting it all sorted out, but just my luck.
  14. Dont buy into it Breet, Ferrari are not going to let anyone that doesn't work for them / own a FXX drive one, anyway the Beeb couldn't afford Schu to do the Stig job anyway, still the cream of the touring car drivers that get picked for the Stig job. Good to have Top Gear back tho :)
  15. Thats one of the best things to go wrong, means you get to buy & fit a better headunit, And if you are sad like me you can mess around with scrolling screensavers!!!!!!!!

  17. Blue flame is the way forward with the cat - back system, not too boy racer, just a nice note, On the bay for £300, sorted vti tried to organise a group buy quite a while back and was going to get them for £240 if he could get 9 others to join in the buy, but this did not go ahead, damn shame as i would have had one.
  18. WOW - you take the whole sound thing serious!!!! Nice idea, something different, causing yourself alot of work there - i'm very impressed. Hope it turns out the way you planned, i'll be looking out for updates.
  19. Sorry cant help you mate, my problem that came from fitting the autoleads cable was that everything was powered up all the time, managed to finally get roung that one eventually. If you unplug the amp bypass cable, does this take away the problem with the clock lighting up?? if it does then the problem is down to the by-pass lead,
  20. So power to clock when no key in ignition - is that right? Do you have to switch the stereo on and off, or does it power on & off with ignition key?
