  1. Watch out checka, Janey will be along shortly!!! brace yourself for a spanking, you have to be Gold member to sell
  2. I like the skirts that Stav's got, god knows what the name / make of them is, If it's the TTE front you have i think the ones Stav has is more suited, But JMO :winky:
  3. Just use a garage that you know you can trust - simples :winky:
  4. Good to hear it's all fitted and your happy with the grille & Lex service
  5. Doesn't seem to be worth buying a S and spending cash on alloys & upgrading stereo as you'll be up near the price of the SE anyway, best looking for a SE with an aftermarket stereo as the lex one will prob break anyway
  6. MorrIS200 & Rez89, Finally got this to post today FYI Grille link
  7. folks like myself are reading your thread Jason, over 3500 views backs that up mate, i do like your updates, essay's or not, although i know it's costing you money i like the plans/ideas you have, and then the inevitable solution / work-arounds that you have to do to make them work, intersting stuff, keep the momentum up & updates coming !
  8. Happy for you, I had a nightmare getting the 3 bottom clips of my grille off, FYI wheels are just cheap rep's of Kahn RSC, Axe Decorsa is the name of them, wheels are keeping pretty well, the centre caps went all tarnished and left marks on 2 of the wheels, replaced them and they have been easy kept since.
  9. Hi Rez, ive got all the pics for the job, but having problems with hosting from photobucket, hopefully have them up soon.
  10. Welcome along to the club, Nice silver Golf by the way! I'm sure i read on a previous thread that the sport is 20mm lower, (sure someone will correct me if i'm mistaken) Unsure on coilover question as i've not went down that road but there is a group buy ongoing that guy's are raving about for £499 Re-mapping is a no go area with Lexus i'm affraid i've had 30miles of sunday driving with light on before i bottled it and put in fuel.
  11. Hi JPJ, welcome along, congrats on the news of the baby Now stereo, As others have said, common fault, you could buy a second hand replacement which would be a nice easy replacement, but there is the rather likely chance of the replacement going the same way. There used to be a walkthru on this site on the removal and replacement (which is pretty simple) but that thread has dissapeared. If you go the aftermarket route (which most do) you will need along with your new stereo a fascia surround, and an amp by-pass cable (as i see you have a SE) which dont cost too much, maybe £20 - £30 but does involve more work to fit into your car. If you are the type that likes a good looking stereo (with orange light up!!!) and dont mind taking on small jobs on your cars, this will be the best thing you ever do!!! MINES Nice cheap one IPOD one - orange backlight dvd / 7" screen one / ipod Those 3 just found on quick search, more thorough search may find better deals!!!! Hopefully give you something to think about
  12. Some good deals to be had if buying new right now, but 2nd hand cars are going up in price by the day right now!! Normally change my cars every couple of years, but buying new not an option for me, but with the price of 2nd hand at the moment, i've decided to keep mine & spend some cash on it. Saying that my mate just bought a 07 SAAB 9-3 Aero in black for 9K, and i was very surprised by it, it looks very nice, quiet & smooth, and packs a pretty good punch when booted, it's not something i would have thought about, all i've heard is that they are just vauxhalls built in sweden, although he will have to ditch the joinery & re-train as a doctor or dentist
  13. Iv'e not got an answer for you marx, but that is nice, but looking at the options, imagine how much that car would cost to spec up
  14. Stav, do you not have a engine lying about to sell to lexyman????????
  15. I'm with you edeath, i dont want a loud one, blue flame is looking like the way i'm gonna go, that's the one that everyone seems to recomend, just thought i'd ask about this one, but no-one seems to have bought one.
  16. OK, the seller just contacted me again, if i can get 2 others to buy the remaining 3 zorst he has, he will let them go for £240 + £17 postage!!!! might be worth a punt!!!!!!!!
  17. Yeah Parthiban, i have often used the saying - you get what you pay for, but always tempted by the thought of saving a few quid all the same.
  18. Thanks Dimitris, but like Jefrosie says, it is only a back box and nearly £80 more expensive than the other full system that comes with gaskets & clamps. Anyway, i got a reply from the seller and he has not heard one fitted to tell me how loud a note they have, he confirms the bung is removable from the tailpipe, but he thinks that this will make the note louder without it. He also said that there would not be a great deal to be had on buying the 3 he has left, that he has to get close the money being asked for them. Still would be interested to know if anyone had purchased one of these exhausts, and how theyfit & sound.
  19. Think you pretty much covered the common faults ther RV2uk, only other thing i would add is the stereo (take a old cd with you and try it in as these do pack in and eat your disc's) the clutch judder is not so much a fault, more an annoyance when pulling off, does no damage, but could be pointed out to a seller to knock a few quid off :winky: The alloys are known for lacquer coming off, but if this is the case with the one you are looking at then again budget to have them re-furbed, or replaced and knock the dealer down in price again. and key's, key's are important, i got stung with this, more keys the better obviously, but one HAS to be the master key (3button) as this is the one you will need to program in other keys you may get cut. i did not get a master key with mine, so i had a bit of hassle, time & £500 spent to get a full new set of keys & ecu re-flashed. But IMO that £3990 for a 2000 SE @ 139K is too much, even tho it has styling kit, unless your being offered £3500 for your Astra!!!! Good choice of car tho! I've had my 2002 sport for 2 years now and apart from the key thing, hasn't cost me a penny other than servicing & feul. Hope this helps
  20. As title, has anyone bought one?? would like a review on looks, sound, quality, good fitting, as the advert say's that 8 have been sold so hoping that someone on here was one of those buyers. EBAY Been thinking about getting a stainless exhaust, i know Blueflame seems to be the most rated one to get, but at £345 direct from factory + delivery, or £313 inc. delivery on ebay, i found this one for £267 including gasket, clamps & delivery, but i notice that the seller has added the option of make me an offer, so maybe a chance of getting them cheaper????? I also notice that the seller has 3 exhausts left so wandering about contacting him in way of mini group buy type deal for all 3 if 2 others would like to get one aswell??? wouldn't want a really loud exhaust note, and the removable thing inside the tail pipe would have to go but i dont know what it would look like when that peice is removed. Anyway, hoping for a review, or contact me if you are interseted in clubbing together to see how cheap we can get the 3 systems for, Deckie.
  21. sorry to join this disscussion at tis late stage, but going back to the first reply you got, i also had this problem, went to dealers (aberdeen) and was given a choice of fixes, replace interior sensor at a cost of £200, or simply disconnect the interior sensor part of the alarm system there and then at no cost, i went for the latter, the guy went back to the car and did it in less than 2 minutes and sent me on my way, never had a problem again. I vever followed him to the workshop so i dont know how he did it, but it an be done on the spot.
  22. I have fitted an amp by-pass lead, same as what I have in my GS300,however on his car, even with the ignition live off,the unit always has power and the only way to turn the power of to the unit is to disconnect the by-pass lead each time he turns the car off. I also had this problem, i found on my by-pass lead that both the permenant & ignition feed went to the same connector at the stereo side of the harness, making my stereo live at all times, i cut the permenant wire & rann that direct to the stereo connector (hope this makes sense!!) I am right in saying that the yellow wire on the ISO is the permanent live, which keeps power to let it store memory etc,and the red is only live upon ignition? It's got me baffled. On a side note, his clock is now always illuminated now aswell,it never turns of,and he is having some battery drainage issues at times Cant help with the clock thing, i dont think i had this problem.
