  1. skhell mate, i'm not trying to tell you not to go ahead with your plan, not my place, i now understand that importing will prob cost as much as engine swap, but saying that if you were to swap a 200 engine, the 300 would probably be your easiest option as its fitted to the same engine bay, it will still come with it's own problems i would imagine, but you would not have to engineer out things that the likes of Stav had to with a engine coming from a totaly different car / engine bay. Another option may be find a good 200, then wait your time till a supercharger comes up (because there is always one comes round every now and again) and fit this, going by Ormi's recent addition this is a very easy install in comparison to engine swap. would this be an option or would it be a non - starter like you said the turbo would be???
  2. I like the saying, think i'll use that in the future if you dont mind griderjn
  3. Dont want to sound defeatist, but that sounds like way too much bother mate, i would say wait your time and find the right IS300, Have you thought of, or can you import a 300 from elsewhere????
  4. That's another nice option Kam, are they expensive being limited edition????
  5. This is the sport grille most fit this one, some (like me) leave both badges, some only one, some de-badge them alltogether, like i said earlier, fitting this grille is relatlively cheap, grilles can be bought in the colour of your car ready to fit but if you are of the creative type maybe getting hold of an old one and fitting different coloured mesh, or fit something other than mesh in there?? P. Lindbom fitted lights behind his to make his different, or you could leave yours as is, it's all on you :winky: If you do decide to change click HERE

    Hello!

Welcome to the fold Turk, nice looking motor in the colour i wish i had got :tsktsk: very tidy!!!! For future ref, just insert image instead of insert link :winky:
  7. Nice n shiney motor, inside & out mate, tidy job of the stereo fascia too, that's the best thing you'll ever do. Not to put your car down, but the grille i just do not like, sorry, but i know that everybody fit's the sport grille, so maybe you could be the first to try something new there obviously i dont know how creative you are, but i think a better looking grille will really set your car off JMHO Top job so far tho, keep it up
  8. Welcome along bud, everyone loves pic's
  9. Congrats on a nice looking (and sounding) IS there mate
  10. 5A fuse wont do any harm, glad you sussed it mate.
  11. Passenger footwell fuse box mate, central locking & Int. lights on same circut, if you have the manual it will point you to the correct fuse.
  12. I feel for you mate, i really do, i am leaning towards Stavs shout about timing being out, but i would have thought that after being round all those garages one of them surely checked this??? As for the cat, i do not buy this as if it had failed alltogether the internal of the cat would start to come apart and give you lots of smoke and a burning smell out the exhaust. (i'm no tech but my fathers cat fell apart inside just last month, this killed the power a bit, but caused no real probs except more emmisions, exhaust smoke & burning smell) Where's Ormi when you need him????? he's maybe heard of this before???
  13. Welcome along to the club, Love the 200 in that colour, hope you continue to enjoy
  14. Hi solhatt, i see from you sig that you own a 200 sport, this means you will have a amp, R/H drive IS200's (i'm assuming yours is L/H drive) amp is located behind the glovebox, so i am geussing that yours will be the same (sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong). you will need a ISO lead to go from the multi-plug at the amp up to your stereo in order for it to work. the small multiplug that goes into the back of your lexus stereo will not operate your kenwood one. and as Jay said, you will also need to source a fascia. MINES WOZZA'S fascia guide
  15. His price has went upa tenner in a week, he's not for shifting on the price, i like to think i was pretty good at the haggling, but this guy wouldn't budge, best of luck.
  16. There is a guy on uk ebay right now called 200mph, he is breaking a IS200 auto and i mailed him about armrest, he wants £165 for it, tried haggling with him but no joy, if your willing to pay that give him a message, he might still have it, sorry cant link you to his advert as i'm at work and ebay is blocked.
  17. welcome along Seth, hope you enjoy the Lexus
  18. been looking at buying a second car recently and aviva were the best deal to be had for me, but i'm the wrong side of 30 with 9 yrs no - claims, but you will just have to take a night out of your life and trawl thru the net, will be worth it if it saves you some cash.
  19. If your lucky the note may have blown away :shutit:
  20. Welcome along mate, nice looking motor and sounds like you've got a few good plans for it, hope you enjoy it!!!!!!
  21. Welcome to the club mate, sounds like it's been a busy couple of months, not really had the weather to get the use of the Lex recently tho!!!!! Keep us all posted on your progress.
  22. WOW, let me get this straight, your lex head unit failed (as they all do) so you have fitted the kenwood stereo and all it's workings to the lexus face plate as an alternative to fitting the kenwood to a autoleads type fascia???? That's impressive, very nice, thats what i call thinking outside the box, nothing i could attempt, wires & soldering freak me out big time!!!! great work
  23. Happy days :D Good that you got it to fit properly, it is a pain, but i think you may have ended up with some rubbing problem if it wasn't securely fitted, it's all too easy to just leave it when having problems!!!! if it's worth doing, blah, blah. good on ya.
