  1. huh...what u mean DS mate??? anyway, been to the bodyshop earlier and spoke to the owner and they've admitted liability and asked me to get hold of another light and they'd pay for it. I had a look at the light and they showed me the lug that was broke and said it could be fixed with a bit of metal bent into place so I told them to do that but then they noticed that the lense had been melted. The stupidity of one of the workers initially trying to fix the lug resulted in him somehow ending up melting the surface of the headlight which defo means a new one is needed. Glad everything is cleared up tho so has anyone got a spare drivers side headlight? ;)
  2. Thanks for the comments everyone but since posting these pics I've come into a slight dilemma. As we can see in the pics the headlights have been fitted to the car but this evening I got a call from the owner of the bodyshop asking if the headlights I supplied were in mint condition, I replied that they were excellent condition apart from the lense needing a polish, in return to this he said that they encountered a broken lug on the drivers side headlight and have been trying to fix it but had no luck so therefore want me to get another headlight! I cant believe it! I've been proper fuming all evening about this and said to him that does he know how much headlights cost and how hard they are to get hold of. I'm sure the headlights were mint and I supplied them mint so its their problem. What I cant understand is that the headlights were fitted to the car so how can one of the lugs be broken? During the telephone conversation he said that when they found it broke they had a look around inside the car and found the lug in the car so he said he's not trying to argue with me but somewhere along the way, either when I put them in the car (I put them in the boot wrapped with bubble wrap but a few days later saw them on the back seat not really wrapped) or whilst the car was being moved its broke but cant say if its one of his workers or anything to do with me. Anyway, half way thru one of his sentences the phone cut off so I text him saying that I'd pop round in the morning. Where do I stand with this people as its really annoyed me and I cant afford to be buying another headlight, and also the pair I bought have got eyebrows on which I like and thats why I decided to chance both instead of just one. I'm thinking of saying that I'm not responsible, which i'm not anyway, and saying I'm not going to buy another light so he should fix it one way or another. Also, just out of interest, how many lugs are on the headlights? I'm guessing there must be more than one on each side so therefore they can get away with having one lug missing anyway if they cant fix it. Hope someone can advise me.... Thanks in advance
  3. After being in the bodyshop nearly 2 weeks but only been worked on just under a week the car is finally coming together. Jigging has been carried out and the car is perfectly straight and the new front panel along with new bonnet, bumper, wings, headlights are on, albeit not permanatly fixed yet as they've been put on to check alignment yet before their final fitment. When all the final alignment of parts is done then its time for the car to be put back together and go in for spraying but heres some pics of the car as I seen it today. Also, just so everyone know, the rads etc havent been put back in yet. Bonnet is fitted properly along with wings I think but bumper and headlights still need to be removed. What does everyone think? While I was there I also had the thought of while the car is in the bodyshop should I get the wingmirrors fully colour coded, as in spray the black areas as well? The thought came to mind as on my civic the colour coded mirrors are done fully, I know each manufacturer has their own style but I like the way they're done on my civic.
  4. If I do use them then will defo get an upfront price. I'm not sure if this is the right area but, I went to see my car today and its progressed a lot, especially with the jig work. Car is perfectly straight now and just needs tidying up a bit then putting back together and spraying but as I posted in Paradroid's thread, my front passenger wheel is back in the arch a bit. I noticed this previously but the garage have also noticed it and said it could be a bent subframe. Could anyone shed any light on this? Tony, maybe you could help?
  5. Think I might just have to order them from lexus as cant seem to get hold of them from any breakers. There goes my budget :( With these little extra bits the cars now gonna cost more than I wanted to.
  6. Yeh mate but they want £16 each and will take a couple of days to arrive. Was hoping that I would find some for cheaper.
  7. Cool no problem mate. When I get round to sorting the geometry out I'll take your settings with me when I find them on the forum and I'll also refer to you and see what I can do price wise as well. Thanks again tony.
  8. Glad that my vote actually counted! lol. Its really good that we won in the end as it woulda been a nightmare for people like me and Gord who live right on the charging zone. Btw, gord when do you want your charger back? lol...Forgot to contact you last week, sorry mate
  9. As per title, need these parts urgently as cant get hold of them. They're the bars that are under the headlights and just behind the bumper. I think the bumper sits on them and the hold the headlights up as well. If anyone doesnt know what I'm on about then they are on the workshop manual...under: Repair Manual > Body > Front Bumper > Components.
  10. Thanks a lot everyone. I was going to get the geometry done either way when the car was sorted not just due to the oem settings being wrong but due the the accident damage. Whats Drury Lane like anees? Have you used them before? I've seen them mentioned on the accord owners club before but dont know if anyones used them before. How much does it cost to get the geometry done?
  11. As some of you may know my car is in the bodyshop at the moment since last thursday and they finally got round to starting work on it today. Anyway, I popped over to the bodyshop to have a look at the car and with the front stripped down I noticed that the inside of the drivers side front tyre is worn really badly. Can someone tell me why this is? Is this the problem that I should be looking out for when it comes to the wrong standard Geometry setup? After seeing this it defo means I'll need a new tyre on the front when I get the car back but i'm guessing I'll need to get the geometry done as well. Tony could you please advise me mate?
  12. thats not bad at all. I buy all my bits from andrew page and its a decent place. when I thought the battery on my car needed replacing I had a look in halfords as I was just having a gander round and they wanted £100!
  13. I've seen their work myself mate and with the sorta cars that go in and out of that place it was evident straight away that they knew what they were doing. The owner I think of the company has got a gorgeous Gemballa tuned Porsche Cayenne turbo.
  14. just out of interest...how much did u pay for the battery mate?
  15. theres a place near where I used to work but unfortunatly I dont remember the name...actually you're in luck...just done a quick search and found it lol...
