  1. are these the right fitment? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-XENON-C...32120QQtcZphoto
  2. whats the quality like of them mate? I've noticed quite a few people refer to dianeshop off ebay so was thinking of getting them from there. not sure on the price differences tho off the top of my head
  3. yup...someone has actually gone and translated the morse code that the stig is listening to these days in top gear....lmao! http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=19064
  4. ur mum aint gonna be too happy that u've damaged her car tho is she ;) glad the damage aint too bad mate
  5. Which set will have more useable light? Am I right in guessing the 6000k? I've noticed that with a lot of the aftermarket bulbs that you get with the blue coating the dont work very well in wet weather as the water absorbs the light and its like the headlights arent even on. Will this happen with 6000k or more of a chance with 8000k due to the tinge of blue?
  6. sorry to revive this thread but seeing as the car should be going in for its repairs soon i'm thinking of ordering my HIDs when it goes in for its repairs but not sure if I should go for 6000k or 8000k. Has anyone got any pics of their cars with the conversion please?
  7. whats the pipercross one look like and how much is it?
  8. Wozza..if you dont mind mate, how much for and where from did you get ur wheels? I seen a blue IS200 a while back with 250 wheels on it and I think they suited it really well.
  9. When I started driving RWD was the norm. Remember putting couple of bags of sand in the boot over rear axles in really bad snow. I much prefer RWD even in ice/snow. I'm gonna have an install in the car when I put it on the road so hopefully that'll put enough extra weight over the rear axle to help the rear not slipping about ;)
  10. I'm in uni in bolton now and omg has it been bad over here...I travel from manchester to bolton for uni and well manchester werent that bad I thought compared to bolton. Traffic was bad in manchester but a lot worse in bolton with little signs of any gritting being done. Roads are a real mess over here n apparently they had a few inches of snow only...seems a lot more. Glad I aint got the lexus on the road in this weather seeing as its my first RWD car I woulda had some issues I think lol. Funny thing is that I thought uni was shut when I got here...never seen it this dead ever...all the student car parks are empty when they're normally rammed and even the staff car parks are empty lol
  11. hmm after doing a bit of digging around on the gates website I've found the following information: ALT Belt: Part no: 4PK1070 PS (I'm guessing thats power steering) Part no: 3PK890 AC Compr (AC compressor?) Part no: 4PK898 Camsht (Timing belt) Part no: 5282XS After looking these up and looking at rig-pigs picture of his belts i've noticed one of the part numbers is different....wonder if anyone could explain this...rig-pig?
  12. ahh cool so its just a lexus thing then....got me worried as from what i can remember there aint no rust on any pullies on my civic. also, where did u get ur belts from rig-pig? how did u find out the correct part numbers?
  13. what are the aux belts?? considering theres what seems to be surface rust tho on the pullies/cogs should these be replaced or is it anything to worry about? is it a lexus trend?
  14. I never thought of that lol...well I've been in talks with a bodyshop today that I spoke to some time back and have decided that I might be taking the car there for the repairs. They're quite busy this week but I've been told to ring them either 2moro or weds to see whats happening and if the car can go in this week. If the car goes in for repairs this week then I should think it wont be left long without starting and once fixed I'll regulary start it anyway until I get the mot etc sorted. Oh yeh, I went to the bodyshop today just to see what kinda cars they were working on at the moment and to check their standards of work and was greeted by a E55 AMG....what a car and from what I could tell it was a really good job being done on the car too so if someone trusts them with a car like that then I think they'll do a good job with the lex hopefully.
  15. When I had the car running earlier today I had a good look in the engine bay and from what I could see I think either my water pump has already been changed in the past, possibly under warranty, but I couldnt find out any info of the water pump being replaced, but either way it didnt seem to be leaking and was nice and clean. I did notice tho...all the pullies on the front of the engine dont look in too good shape. They're all kinda rusty and well I dont like the look of this so its got me kinda worried. I'm guessing its probably cos the car has been standing for so long or maybe its just a lexus thing but I'm gonna be getting the timing belt done when the car is fixed either way but since having a good look I wanna get all the belts done so can someone tell me whats what please and what I need? I know that the timing belt kit is belt, tensioner, and idler pully but what else is needed to change other belts? Are there any kits out there?
  16. Yayyyy!! It worked!! Finally got round to getting the battery out the car yesterday and putting it on charge and checked it today and the car started first time round! Glad that I dont need a new battery now. Think the car does need a good service tho, possibly sparks as it turned a few times before it started. Maybe the battery aint up to full capacity yet but at least the charger worked. I've removed the battery from the car again so it doesnt go flat but just glad that no money needs to be spent in that dept. Thanks again Gordon and sorry its taken me so long. Had loads of uni work to do over the past week so didnt get a chance with the lex. Whens it ok for me to drop the charger back at urs anyway mate?
  17. I'd like as much info as poss please wylie.

  19. As per topic....I got a quote from this company a while back and after hunting around multiple other companies it seems like I might be getting the car repaired from these guys but has anyone used them before? Whats their work like? I need to know asap as the car may be going in to them this week. Cheers Rehan

  22. U used to do modelling lmao.... anyway....back to topic...just had a look at that link and seems interesting. Will show it the other half and see what she thinks before I start spending lol
  23. I'd rather stick with XP instead of dual booting at the moment and have full use of my machine. When I really need Vista then I'll think about upgrading but its not on my list of priorities lol
