The box is sealed. The instructions say a 1CuFt sealed box which includes the displacement of the Sub. I will measure the inside of the box tonight just to make sure!! The manufacturer also states it can be run in a ported box but that would be 2cuft so will use to much room in my boot. For a sub crossover is it OK to use the Alpine amps own one or just run full range through a standalone one? As long as I haven't jinxed the collection date of my car I will be there.

I the general consensus from people I have been talking to is to use the 6*9 as rear fill (exactly as Wozza Says). The set up I have decided on will be using all Rainbow components, apart from the sub amp (Alpine) and rear 6*9's (Infinity reference series) ski hatch removed and loads of matting on the front doors to deaden the vibrations. The Sub enclosure is 1.25 Cuft but the manufacturer says 1cuft is best, is this extra 0.25 cuft going to make a huge difference or should I just baffle out some of the box with screwed in MDF so the internal volume is exactly 1Cuft? Also I have loads of carpet underlay, can this be used to sound proof the tailgate? Still keeping to £500 budget JUST....

I dropped something down a spark plug hole years ago (a Capri IIRC) and just used a vacuum cleaner to get it out, worked really well. Put a bit of cloth over the nozzle so you know when the item has been removed. Or poke around with a long magnet tool?

My 05 does not have the arm rest, but has a bodykit and 18" alloys.

Small update: THE DEVIL IS DONE :devil: Picking her up on Monday 11 May which is also my birthday!! (Like Stav I've jinxed this one now its public ) James and the tuner road tested it yesterday and the air intake temp. refused to go above 20C, thats pretty good apparently . There are a couple of jobs that will be done towards the end of May, we are going to get the the engine bedded in first. The Alps trip is out as it is a bit late to ski now we are going on a Nile Cruise at the end of May, so if diary's match up that is when the couple of other jobs can be done.

The OEM amp is pretty weedy, my JVC unit causes the OEM speakers distort at about 1/2 volume, the sound quality is better with an after market HU, and if you look on ebay you will find the amp bypass lead: linky The lead is fiddly to fit so take your time and ask if you get stuck!!

Found the "black box" to convert the rev counter from 6cyl to 4cyl. Its in the US though so that will take a few days to get to the UK. The rev counter does work it just reads 2/3's the actual revs of the engine.

I just spliced it in to the amp bypass harness.

Got TTE ones on mine now.

This will be one hell of an interesting meet, the amount of heavily modded IS's going!!

It will be at the end of the day its a new prop so it can go back for balancing if that is the problem. We all expect these little problems.

It would have been all done BUT, during the shake down there was excessive vibration from somewhere so its back on the ramps tracing the problem, could be one (or two) of many things..... There was no vibration when running it up with the wheels off the ground. My money is on the prop, being slightly off balance but thats only my unqualified opinion.

did you wire it up to the handbrake so it will only play when the handbrake is on? I have my ipod so will be using that most of the time, gonna get the KS-U30 so I can play back video from it aswell, just havent gotten around to ordering it Don't be silly wire to the handbrake I also have the DAB unit for it and the HAL3 roof antenna that replaces the OEM one so DAB and FM reception are perfect.
