  17. right i've had the battery off for most of the afternoon, and i just been out to the car to reconect it all up, and ALL THE LIGHTS ARE NOW OFF YAYAY!!! i took her for a little run around the block but when i put my foot down the pickoff is very sluggish, anyone know why this would be? would it be the fuel mixture as the car has to learn it all again, even tho the air/fuel ratio gage was reading normal and also whats the best way of letting the ecu relearn all it needs to know? and i gotta set up my head unit again!! lol all fun and games :)
  18. coolio i'll try disco'ing the battery for at least 30minutes this afternoon when i get home and i'll look under the car to see if i can see the sensor hanging like tyrone mentioned earlier, and from the diagram that was provided by aztec i'll check all the conections for the sensors re-seat them and see what happens, wish me luck lol speaking to a work mate this morning about why it wouldn't start properly he said it was probably due to the car over fueling due to the sensor not working will this resolve itself when i get a new sensor or do i have to flush the fuel line or anything specific??
  19. right i got in the car this morning started it up and as i rolled backwards the TRC control light and the VCL light illuminated and the engine management light is still on as well. all three shone at me from behind the wheel like they were ambushing me first thing in the morning! so i turned the car off then went to start it up again the start was very rough and only just managed to get going so i jumped out and drove my mums horrible clio to work. what a great start to the week! :( would just the o2 sensor cause all these other lights to come on as well??? please help!
  20. yeah these forums really come in handy i used to be in the STowners club before i had the lex, so i know all about finding that perfect little piece of information when you really most need it from the people who know the most :P Still gotta solve the problem of the gages and window lock mystery though
  21. cheers :) cant believe they wanted to charge £300 quid for it!!! scam artists :(
  22. cheers for that peeps i'll have a look in the morning when theres a bit of light to play with, if i do need a new sensor and its not just a case of its come unhinged off the bottom, will this one on ebay do the trick item 130257756115. thanks for all your advise :)
  23. right i took her to lexus reading earlier, they have found the problem to be the oxygen sensor, at bank 2 sensor 2. does things ring any bells? anyone had this problem before?? and where is this bloody sensor located??? the other thing is they want £300 quid for the new part and to fit it. :o i tried at unipart to get the sensor but we dont do them (i work for unipart) so does anyone know of elsewhere to get one from or have a working one that they dont need and i'll take it off your garage shelf for a reasonable price please, all the more help the better as im pretty sure this is a job me and my mates could do rather than spend £300 on letting them do it, i can put the money i save to a carbon bonnet or an s/c!! yay :) cheers kids
  24. For benefit of gord, i brought the car about 2 months ago, with all the acessories and work being done by previous owners, no engine work has been done, apart from air filter and zorst. (plans for future tho :)) im not sure who linked up the gages so i'll have a look when im home to see if i can find any paperwork for it (theres a few receipts for it but i dont think it lists all the parts, all i can remember at this time is that 2 reciepts i got total like 12grand!!! i've only noticed these faults in the last 36 hours, the engine management light came on as i was exiting a slip road on a 40 mph dual carriage way so wasn't booting it as hard as i could of been, and then on the way back home coz i had my mates kids in the back, i locked the windows and noticed my gages were dead, so i hit the window switch again and my gages came back on??? we did a bit of investigating under the bonnet the engine seemed to be slightly warmer than it normally should be to touch but noticed that a regulator (think its the fuel reg) was really hot and the old boy i was with said that that could be the problem. we checked all the fuses and connections that we could see. it all seems a bit wierd to me? hope this helps explain things mate.
