  1. I'll upload it here Lexus_LS400_MK3_Stereo_Back_Light_Fix_(illustrated).pdf
  2. It's a fairly simple job Jacques. I have a pdf with illustrated instructions if you want?
  3. Sounds like your car's previous owner is the same one that used to own my Celsior :) I would still take the door card off and see what you're up against. If the mechanism isn't wrecked you should be able to just get the mesh fabric and repair it yourself
  4. It is possible that the spring has come off the roller. Take the door card off and have a look at the mechanism.
  5. It appears that the good 'ol Italian tune-up also works on Japanese cars :) No more jumpy idle and no more CEL :)
  6. Messi, Give it 15-20 years and they will be the ls400 money of today. Biggest question is - will they last as long as the ls400..........
  7. Hi Allan and welcome to the club :) Have a read here regarding your error code http://www.engine-codes.com/p1300_lexus.html
  8. Good stuff Colin :) A cum laude MOT always puts a smile on your face
  9. While reading the rules (I should have done this when I joined :) ) I noticed a line saying: You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which you know to be false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law, meaning also that you agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board. Note the bold underlined words. When scrolling down these set of rules I find a little advert on the bottom saying: "Date sexy Thai women". Explain please :)
  10. Might as well just buy an Amazon here. They hold on their value extremely well. I really like the Nissan Patrol as well
  11. What a coincidence Hugh. I've just fitted a hockey puck to my trolley jack today :)
  12. Brian, Funny you say that :) I do occasionally burn peat in our fire. Usually coal though. We don't have gas here so our Charmwood fire heats the radiators.
  13. Tempted to get a set for my black leather seats. What colour to pick though....don't want them to pop out too much. Maybe a medium grey would be nice....
  14. I pay 49p for LPG at ASDA, but have to travel about 30 miles to get there. There used to be a local garage that sold LPG, but due to new regulations he decided to get rid as he didn't have enough LPG customers to justify the costs. I'm surprised LPG is so unpopular here.
  15. Sometimes it has to do with the ABS ring. Maybe Lexus will pick it up tomorrow. A nice enough car you got there Jacques. Hopefully good for 1000s of miles trouble free motoring. I agree with the colour, it's very nice. When the sun isn't out it's black.
  16. To find a working diagnostic scanner is quite the challenge. Being a JDM car it doesn't use the OBD2 protocol like US and European cars. It uses J-OBD or M-OBD Toyota S2000 protocol. I have been reading online and have downloaded a few android apps from which was claimed they would work on JDM cars. One of them is Torque Pro. I read on a forum that someone had it working on his JDM 2JZ VVTi by adding a protocol to the app. Unfortunately this did not work with the Celsior. I have been able to use the TCCS method. Which is on-board diagnostics by bridging pin Tc and E1 from the diag port in the engine bay. This gave me code 21. The issue is that code 21 translates to 3 different OBD2 codes, namely P0130 P0135 P0141 These are all pretty much o2 sensor related, but after reading a bit more I stumbled upon a post from Benfur on here stating that his P0135 issue was resolved by replacing the Coolant Temp sensor. (New temp sensor on order). I have used a few professional diagnostic tools from local garages and an ECU company. None of them are able to connect to the ECU. I have also read on a different forum that someone was able to use Toyota TIS Techstream on is Celsior by changing the area to Japan and manually select the JDM 1UZ-FE. I'm hoping anyone with the Techstream software can verify this for me. My CEL comes on after 15 minutes of driving and causes lumpy/jumpy idle and I'm quite sick of it :)
  17. Indeed Pete and that is 'near mint condition' Then my wheels should be better than new :)
  18. And he thinks it has a heated front screen :) Near perfect rims? uh huh
  19. Hi Jacques and welcome :) -The paint code is probably the same as my celsior and should be 6N9. ( you can check this on the VIN plate in the engine bay) -The jolt you feel when putting into drive could be due to a worn gearbox mount. The ls400 has one of the smoothest rides on the planet so something is def wrong. Then again....when the RPM is a bit high you can feel what you describe. -OBD port is under the dash driver's side. -My '90 400 has lower seats than my '99 - Probably to accommodate for the stereo amplifier under the driver's seat.(I'm 6ft6 and am ok. just) -Re window - just take the door card off and check everything for free movement. -A common 'upgrade' is clear indicator lenses at the front. They were readily available a few years ago, but seem a bit harder to find nowadays. Hope this helps a bit
