  1. Buy underbracing, etc for the car...that should help unnecessary stress on the suspension parts...also try to buy some wheels that don't weigh a TON! :). It's not the size of the wheel most of the times that would cause wear/tear on suspension but it's the weight of the wheels. People on Clublexus don't have repitive problems because they buy wheels that are light, although expensive. Lighter weight wheels are not only for performance or bragging rights :).
  2. Another place to pick up a set of Supra 4 pot Calipers is www.supraforums.com :). There's always a set available on there. It's where I'm picking up mine from for about £300 all in for calipers, pads and discs. You'd definitely need a set of high disk alloy wheels for the Supra calipers to fit though...as the stock supra wheels would look like crap on the GS. Spacers I wouldn't recommend ever...premature wheel bearing failure is a side effect of using them :). First of all I'd just try DBA discs with stainless brake lines and a non agressive pad...should be enough as long as you don't plan on going single :). All depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to do :). The Stoptech BBK also needs a high disk wheel...but I personally would opt to spend the £2000 odd on a set of wheels with the Supra Calipers/pads as the Supra brakes are excellent and fade is near enough non-existant on the road.
  3. LOL I just hope you have another boost guage to keep an eye on the boost even though the Blitz Boost Controller has a boost display. It's better to be safe than sorry :).
  4. The 2nd gen also uses a MAP Sensor IIRC :).
  5. Hey Gramps, Got another ECU wiring Diagram off of GReddy's website. It's for the E-Manage Ultimate but it'll do :D http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/pdf/806.pdf Hope that helps :). I'm going to wait till I get my boost guage and downpipe and single cat removed before I do anything else.
  6. No mate, Pete already told me not to bother with a vent to air as it will knacker up the cars performance, said it's much happier with a recirculating one :) All sleeper style :D There's no difference at all in performance between fitting a recirculating and a vent-to-atmosphere BOV. Since you have an auto, there would be little point in fitting an atmospheric BOV due to the up/downshift nature of an auto box and therefore no psheeeeeeeet sound You would be surprised how often my car dumps to atmosphere :). I'd say get it as it'll help when you add a FMIC and increase boost further later down the road :).
  7. I've not had a look at the part number, but as far as I'm concerned as long as you have the Supra BCC you should be fine. The only variance is the voltage which can be adjusted on the older units, the new ones don't have the little adjustment screw inside the unit. That's exactly what I meant lol...sorry for the confusion. I'm planning on removing the CAT closest to the turbo which should help spool up quite a bit. I've already got a Apexi Power Intake...highly recommended as it's a filter for life more or less as long as you clean it every so often. No oiling is required and filtration is supposed to be the best :). Insurance company knows everything about the mods, and the premium hasn't risen by anything :). NICEE!! Take some pics and post them up :). Wanna see it.
  8. WOW! Thanks...I just received my BCC in the post yesterday. Now I'm just waiting for the decat pipe to be sorted out and awaiting a Blitz LM Boost Guage and manual boost controller...can't wait!! :D
  9. Yep Maneesh...those are the ones I was looking at, but just need to find out about how the LED bulbs can be replaced and how much they are...those are the Wise Sports LED one's IIRC.
  10. Thanks for the positive comments guys. I'm looking at picking up a set of 2001+ rear lights or maybe even the JP or Wise Sports rear lights..nice and subtle mod that gets noticed. Oh and just for ****s and giggles I ran into a Blac Ferrari 355 on Saturday and well I was in a bit of a stupid mood so got up behind him and just let the BOV go off...he floored it and I followed. Came up to a set of traffic lights, pulled up besides him looked over, he didn't look back so thought he might not want to "play" so left it...but as soon as the lights turned green he floored it, with me being slow and whatnot it took me a while to take it in and I gave chase. He pulled away about 3 cars before I floored it. By then he was slowly pulling away until we came to a ramp to get on a flyover where he braked and I actually decided to floor it and slid the back end out just a tad and made up a car length (No Trac ON & Power ON with E-Shift enabled). We came to a bend on the flyover and we were doing approximately 80mph where about 200 yards ahead we approached another set of lights where we both stopped (impressed with brakes considering larger wheels). He looked over gave me a thumbs up and I returned the gesture. Put the window down and had a little talk with him....he complimented me on the wheels and car hanging with him and I complimented him on the car (who doesn't love a Ferrari!?). Said that he's only in the country once a week otherwise he's in Barcelona and he only has fun everynow and then otherwise he just takes the car for a little drive. VERY nice guy I must say I was surprised, I doubt he was giving it all he had as he was being very cautious with the way he was driving (braking around a bend he could EASILY take in that car IMHO) and still leaving me...if he was flooring the nost out of my car he would have left me for dust no doubt!! Him complimenting the wheels put on a big grin on my face though LOL.
  11. There's a first time for everything ;). You'd need a trolley jack, engine lift and the right tools and ALOT of effort and patience...but anything's possible :). Might want to give Norkep a shout to see if he can give you any advice/pointers? :).
  12. I'm sure you don't need a GReddy Fuel Cut Controller...it's the Boost cut controller you need :).
  13. Here are the pictures promised of the new wheels on the car. Opinions?? Don't tell me to lower it...I already know I need to lol. Tein Flex with EDFC are next on the list. Tires are apparently the same width as the new M5 in the rear
  14. I think I can help you with the Diagram hehe (think we've the same goal and have info the other requires)...don't if it's the diagram we need but it is for a 2JZ-GTE VVTi from a Aristo JZS161, so should be the same. Hope that helps and let me know how you get on...if you do it before me :). With a Manual Boost controller, you can keep an eye on the boost with a quality Boost Guage, not to mention manual boost controllers are used on BPU Supra's AND 1000bhp singled Supra's in the US and are preferred more to their Electronic brethrens. Still a good buy on the Blitz EBC though :). Also if you can...email me the picture of the location of the location of the ECU and I'll host it up for future reference :).
  15. Hello everybody, Just wondering how to wire up the GReddy Boost Cut Controller on the ECU? Where is the ECU located? What wires would I need to splice/cut? I'm looking at doing a decat and pick up a Joe P Manual Boost Controller from the USA (said to hold boost better than EBC's) to control boost etc. Anyone know any guides that can help? I know the VVTi and the Non-VVTi wiring varies quite a bit so the guide on MKIV Forums is of no use :(. HELP? TIA.
  16. I'm not entirely sure on the specifics of the Blitz unit so unfortunately can't help you there :(. Gaz or Yoshi might chime in with some more info on how to wire it up? I think Yoshi has a Blitz EBC too :).
  17. I'm surprised nobody posted this link up: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/spark_plugs/index.html It's as easy as pie if you have the right tools :) Just make sure you don't break the brackets for the coilpacks and make sure you've ordered a set of Crank Case hoses from Lexus themselves...mine were brittle and fell apart when taking them off.
  18. I hope you've picked up a Boost Cut Controller too to enable running higher boost :).
  19. Hmm I always thought the wastegate was too small to regulate boost when decatted as the JDM Turbo's rely on exhaust backpressure to control boost...or is this only on the Mk1's and Supra's?
  20. Luckily it's only one cat that's gone. If you remove both cats make sure you've got a boost guage to keep an eye on the boost creeping up with both cats removed and have a restrictor ring put on too of about 2 1/4" IIRC :). It definitely does sound like the cats are gone, as mine doesn't backfire like that either.
  21. Matt: The transmission is the weakest link in the whole drivetrain. The other things will be upgraded after the transmission has been sorted out :). I'm still sticking to the idea of a 3.4L HKS Stroker built shortblock with a PHR Stage 5 kit. Built port and polished head retaining VVTi with HKS Valcon Pro system. 4 Row FMIC, PWR Radiator, etc, etc. Rather get this sorted out as it's where the MOST downtime will be experienced as the rest of the stuff (engine, etc) will be made using a new shortblock, blueprinted, and machined using the HKS Stroker Kit...this is of course going to be quite a while. I'm leaning towards a Fullrace manifold. I'm still in the planning/budgetnig phase as I'm doing as much research as possible on everything before I put down the cash. Therefore rather find out about this transmission conversion as everything else is 85% decided on. Rallure: You've got PM.
