  1. Did you do the full 30 seconds. My VSC OFF, VSC and ABS were all flashing when the N0.4 & 14 pins were connected with ignition on. As per the instructions in the above posting all was well when the ignition was switched off, paper clip removed and engine started.
  2. UPDATE. Left the car at the LPG'er in Jarrow this morning and went off to the Barbour factory shop for a look around and then on to the seaside at sunny South Shields for a breath of bracing North Sea air and a coffee at Minchella's. Got a call 2 hrs later to pick up the car . He found the gauge on the tank wasn't working properly, £25 for a new one, and 3 wiring defects including the dashboard telltale which have all been rectified. He said the EML can come on when the mixture isn't right so he's sorted that and said if it did come on again, bring the car back as the changes have to be done in 5% increments, it'll only take a couple of minutes on the laptop and no charge. I've driven the car about 30 miles since and all's well. Total cost was £80 so at the moment I think thats money well spent. So far, so good!!.
  3. VSC lights are now OFF. Thanks Rick as the diagram was essential to identify the contacts whilst upside down in the rain! Not my best position. I drove the car 100 yards up the street and it stayed off where as before as soon as I set off the VSC came on. I'll leave it on petrol till after the LPG garage has serviced it tomorrow. I've cast my mind back and remembered the skid control on my Dunstall Atlas. It was a Watsonian Monza Sports sidecar, red of course!!. Many thanks
  4. Thanks Rick, you're a star!!. Excellent info and pictures as well. That will make it so much easier to identify the pins as my creaking old bones will be bent double to see the pins under the dash. I certainly suspect the other reader has triggered it as you suggest. On your previous point,I've been driving over 50 years, now so steady away, and the electronics aren't my forte. Some garages round here charge as much as £45+vat for a 2 minute diagnostic check. Dont think my last bike Dunstall Norton Atlas 750cc in the early 60's had anti skid so I should be alright. A post on here I looked at suggested checking for loose or split hoses, remedy them and pull the 20amp fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet for 10 seconds. Apparently its the only 20amp fuse in there.
  5. A bit more info. This is my 'new' car with LPG. All the sensors were renewed before I bought it. The seller assured me the EML light never came on when driving on LPG. Not the case as the EML came on a couple of days after I started using it. On Monday ,I took it to a local LPG installer who diagosed a weak mixture on banks ? &? (didn't write it down) codes PO 171 & PO 174. I've booked it in for Friday morning and he didn't charge for the OBD. After I drove away the VSC came on. Is there a link?? I took the car to my regular garage today but his reader cant do Lexus but he cleared the EML and I drove home on petrol and no EML. Again he didn't charge for his services. He's calling me tomorrow when a techie is due at his garage with a reader which does Lexus so the VSC OFF and VSC lights can be turned off. I'll run it on petrol until Friday when I visit the LPG installer. I'll keep you posted.
  6. Can anyone tell me why the VSC lights have come on. I can probably get the codes read tomorrow so is it ok to drive. There's differing opinions on here whether it's safe or not. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the comments. I have a deposit on the red car so should be sold soon and I can transfer my insurance over. The front discs are only about 28mm thick and I think the minimum is 30mm and new they are 32mm so definitely need changing. The wheels are a bit curbed so will put my 17's on. Apart from that its pretty good.
  8. This is what i was thinking! I'll think ill pass for the time being. I did message the seller yesterday, no reply as of yet. His phone number's in the ad so ring him direct and ask all the questions.
  9. Tigerfish, the LPG mainly, its only 18 months old with a full size filler, no adaptor needed, located under the bumper and no horrible holes drilled into the rear wing with a cheap plastic bung, as well as its the face lift model with S/N, beige interior which is my preferred trim colour. I was looking for an LPG LS430 and just missed Mike Sands car when it went up for sale. The 2 sets of wheels and tyres I have will come in useful. The 16's can stay on the red car.
  10. This was on fleabay a couple of weeks ago, just a few miles from me, so I bought it, mainly because it has LPG. I will do the brakes for my own satisfaction (possible new front discs, pads, slide pins etc.) and any other small jobs next week, but I haven't put it on the road yet. I need to keep the other car taxed and insured for test drives for any prospective buyers. I'll keep you posted on how I get on and stick a few more photos up when its all cleaned and shiny and up to my spec.
  11. Tyres have a manufactured date stamped on them. Whether they did this 14 years ago I know not!
  12. Emirate Airways fly direct from Newcastle so it must be more than canny Geordie holiday makers they carry!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Item No. 151082229003. 4 x centre caps on ebay but you will need to know the diameter as there are loads of different sizes.
  14. Unfortunately I've got to take it back again next year!!!!!!!!!!! ooops
  15. Unfortunately I've got to take it back again next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thats good. MOT for me tomorrow.
  17. THE REAL DEAL!!!! This is my old Rover from 1970 C/W fluffed up cushions. The sheep skin rug is laid out on the back seat. Have I done the right thing revealing all ?? !!
  18. To finish it off, you really need a sheep skin on the back shelf and two cushions fluffed up in each corner
  19. Talking about the rusted off bracket, you could make a template from the other side to make a new one.It must be there for a reason.
  20. I'm pretty sure my E30, E36, E38 and E39 I once owned all (not all together) all had duplex chains not like the one in the video. A cheap improvement?!! Mine were all excellent, smooth and quiet 6 cylinder auto's. Last time I looked under the bonnet of a recentish BM, the engine is half way under the scuttle. Remember their Nicosil problems in the 90's. So much for the Badge.
  21. Glad its sorted and at minimal cost
  22. With the parking brake off, release the cable inside the drum and move the cable in and out of its sleeve to make sure its not siezed.
  23. I dont know the reason why its there. Can you just fabricate a new bracket and tack weld or bolt it on. Looks a simple job for a metal worker/fabricator/welder/trusty local garage.
  24. There's plenty on ebay about £15 and usually with an instruction leaflet. Easy job about 10 mins.
