  1. If I recall...months and months ago an LS400 with very low miles was up for sale in Edinburgh. Just wonder if its the same one and/or the same seller. If you go to view it have a look at the LS430 face lifted one as well, in Musselburgh, pictured on gumtree for less money 99000 miles.
  2. V 718 FPN...... has been relisted. It was over £3K but now over £2K
  3. Thanks for that. I've just learned to read. I had £5000 max in the search .doh!!!
  4. Willydoit & cruisermark. just out of interest will you identity the car please I cant seem to find it. Thanks
  5. It does look dirty, 30 miles from me. LS 460 2008 102K 7 x stamps in SMAG auction Newcastle tonight.
  6. Best of luck with your car and I hope it turns out to be as good as it was described but if you change your mind about blinging it, get in touch. It was very nice but the seller tried to fill my head with rubbish and lied through his back teeth ie..claimed he'd had it for 4 years, did a Lexus service on it whilst on holiday in Cornwall, didn't know the box in the boot was the S/N etc etc and had the audacity to ask for a deposit. NO, I couldn't give anybody like that any of my money. Nice car though !
  7. V 718 FPN is back on sale on ebay. . Thats been up a couple of times in the past few months. I dont know the one's mentioned above...maybe sold now!!
  8. My MK 3 LS 400 had two pipes ( feed & return) coming from the gearbox to the bottom header on the radiator. This topic was discussed at length not so along ago and a member fitted an oil cooler and then decided to renew the radiator instead and discarded the cooler on the grounds that a new rad was comparatively cheap.
  9. The ebay item is a MK 3. You can tell by the wobbly gear lever gate and centre console
  10. L400MYK. Update.....Saw this today and it is AWFUL.............paintwork is poor and dull, carpets, seats, steering wheel are cracked and filthy, tools rusty, boot carpet rotten and all the gears went in with a thump. Reg No. N129 GKH on window sticker. Cap Guide 260/440/610 I think thats pence!!
  11. Anyone know this MK3 LS400. Reg...L400MYK Siver grey/grey trim 128,000 10 stamps. I might have to put my dislike of grey leather behind me especially if it goes for a good price. I'll have a look on Monday afternoons viewing time. Commission up to £999 hammer price is approx £300 so adds a bit to any low priced "bargain". Its not in the listing to say the number stops with the car but will say on the screen ticket.
  12. Yes.... I've seen it tonight and wondered why it went missing and now its back on. Too much money and £1000 profit if it goes for that much.
  13. LS400 MK 4 R483UHP. This looks very nice but it was on Ebay for a few days this week in York YO10 for £1650 and now in Redcar on Gumtree for £2795 and practically word for word advert. Sorry, don't have a link, don't know how to do links. Lexus Chap 2nd ???
  14. I saw this when it was for sale in Durham. Nice enough car but it needed 4 tyres and the dealer just said "they're legal" he also said "FSH" but it didn't. I wouldn't pay £2500 so, In the end, I never bothered and its been up for sale at least twice more since Sep/Oct last year. It should have newish tyres on, if not, then its got part worn.
  15. You've done the hard ones as the dryer thingy is the worst as it gets all the road gunge. If they're loose then you should not fret ...but be careful...sods law.... and all that. The bulk head ones came out easily on mine. That snapped head is off one of the front ones. The shank of the bolt through the fitting is the problem and after I did mine I thought it would be easier to cut the heads off and gently prise off the fittings which would leave a good bit of the bolt sticking out to grip and ease out. Best of luck but I think you're well on the way. Don't forget to grease every thing on reassembly.
  16. Broken head off the bolt. Very lucky to get this out. New seals will also be required.
  17. Is this the pipe. Dont know if you can have one made up cos of the fittings on both ends
  18. Be very very very careful when trying to undo the bolts holding the pipe ends. They will feel welded in ( electrolytic reaction ) as its two different metals and they react against each other. The last thing you want is to snap the head off the bolt. I posted on here a few years ago when I found the battery box fixings had rusted through and the resultant movement rubbed a hole in the A/C pipe that goes from the bulk head to the circular thing in front of the rad. It's a fiddly job and " benfur " on here sorted good S/H parts for me with overnight delivery. N/A as you have a new bit on order. Just come back from holiday so didn't see this post till this morning.
  19. Loathecliff Kwikfit ATS and that ilk wont look for or repair A/C faults. You need an independent A/C fitter who will vacuum the system and check for leaks using an ultra violet light. The Acre You have replacement pipes (flexies) so it is possible that your system has been open to the air and water/moisture has got in and the refrigerant has frozen this water so creating a blockage/partial blockage
  20. This is the 3rd time he's tried to sell it in 3 years. I tested it last year and it was very dirty with all the signs of grand kids, sweet and crisp packets, but it went very well and he has done the cambelt. He's 80 years old and done very little mileage in his tenure. He wanted £2500 last time so don't know what the reserve is now. If I recall the steering didn't work and the A/C wasn't ice cold and yes the mats are a put off. Why show them in the presentation photos!
  21. Spacewagon I was an active member of the NSU Ro80 Club for over 30 years. Smoothest quietest comfyiest car I had, (I could go on and on), until I bought my 1st LS400. Without the NSU K70 there possibly wouldn't be a Polo or Golf
  22. This car is now for sale in South Shields (mouth of River Tyne) for £3495 with an MOT( he must have changed the baldy tyre) by a trader. Nice little £1000 mark up and only the missing S/N disc mentioned in a very poor advert. Will I... Wont I..... go for a test drive. It's only 15 minutes away but not at that price.
  23. This looks like a MUST DO job for all LS owners. A simple and inexpensive way to safe guard your gearbox and save the car from the scrap heap. I would think you need to flush the integrated oil cooler under the radiator to expel as much oil as possible and blank off or link the two stub ends with a length of pipe just in case the bottom of the rad fails and you'll lose all the coolant and all your good work would be in vain. Once again the LOC proves its worth as an excellent forum.
