There's a small inspection cover, on top of the engine at the front, held on by 4 bolts (allen bolts?)that you can take off to inspect the cambelt

Ruud, I'm not a gold member so cant sell on here. I've sold my Lexus but would like an LS430 or maybe a GS430 sometime before my driving days come to an end. Not for a while yet I hope but I'm now in my seventies (just). So these wheels will save the possibility of the cost of a refurb and/or new tyres. My feelings are you need to put £2000 in the back of the book to cover the cost of the rear suspension if and when the well known problem occurs on the 430 and another £1500ish for an LPG conversion with BIG tank. I was getting 230 miles from £30 of LPG on my last GS300. I've had 2 GS 300's so the LS430 would be my choice. 4 of the wheels were new and the 5th came off ebay as a spare to make a full set. Its in need of a refurb

eBay item number: 290371983867 Came across these. Is it possible/legal/safe to fit them. Would it affect your insurance. If the air pump's disconnected would it show a warning on the dash. If they were acceptable it would make the 430 more desirable. Complete suspension set for the price of one air strut!!

Buyer Beware

Why dont these dealers state the mileage. Mark Levinson is high end and an excellent system in the 430. The early 430's from 2000/2002 had Premium Pack as an option. Look for bumpers which dont have sensors back and front. From 2002 PP was standard -

Couldn't agree more. Sold now to someone from Falkirk. Any Falkirkers on here? Is it you!!!! -
LS 430 X733JBC Anyone know this car. It's on Gumtree for £1795. I tested it today and these are my findings. Brake pad warning on with the red triangle flashing. Parking brake probably needs doing as well (lots of travel) 2 x tyres needed A/C not cold enough. Re-gas or a leak (from the fridge?, not uncommon) In/Out steering wheel motor making a noise but not working Slight pull to the right Slight vibration on steering wheel at 60ish Front wing/bumper damage (sellers quote £300 to repair) Non standard alloys Add that lot up and it doesn't make it a cheap car. Pity, cos it goes very well

I've had a MK3 LS400 & 98 GS300. Not a great deal wrong with a GS 300 but the LS 400 is a much better car. I've just p/x'ed my 51 GS300 with LPG 133000mls for a newer shape 03 Accord 2ltr ex auto saloon which I think is easier and better to drive than the GS and, although its a lovely car , doesn't have the overall refinement of the Lexus.

Bozman Dave, There is a red one at a dealers in Brum which fits the description. Why not let us know as it may be known by someone on here who could help. Messi, have you seen the one in Brum. I could have fancied that, going on their description but wont travel that far. Been disappointed too many times. Did 360 miles on Sunday, up at 6am, on the road 7.15am, to Leicester and back cos the dealers description didn't mention the FILTHY (biege?)seats. So dirty I dont think they would have cleaned up at all

Take note of tonyricha above before you take the plunge. After 3 cars bought with LPG fitted, I would say buy the best car you can find and fit your own brand new system to it ensuring a warranty and back up service from the installer. Depending on your mileage it'll pay for itself. You're welcome to come up and see mine, I'm in Washington 20 miles up the A19, and I'll do my best to shed as much light on the subject as I can. I'm available most of the time. I've kept a fuel record since buying the car and the LPG switches on after about 1 mile so little petrol is used. The petrol gauge doesn't read correctly so you need to monitor the petrol in the early days so as not to run out.

The kit on 'what car'. Is there a link missing. I've got a GS300 51reg with 132000 miles and the LPG was on when I bought it. It's a BiGas system and its a few years old but it gives about 230 miles for £32 worth of fuel and thats mainly round the doors. LPG up here is between 69 and 72 ppl. PS I dont have flash lube.

Adam, after the LPG'er plugged into the OBD under the dash to switch off the EML light and then plugged into the LPG ECU to tweak the gas by 5%, I started the car and the VSC lights were on. On the 3 other occassions I visited him to switch off the EML and tweak the gas the VSC lights came on and each time he said it had nothing to do with him or his equipment. Strange coincidence, dont you think. Each time I turned the VSC off by the 'paper clip' method provided by a very knowledgeable member on the LOC forum after I'd posted my problems in the GS300 section. No porkies intended I'm sure. It's probably over 2 months now and the EML light has stayed OFF.
-
This happened to my '51' GS300 after the LPG'er used his code reader and triggered the VSC lights. He said his reader was only doing the gas and it wasn't his fault but every time I took it back after having the VSC lights turned off it triggered the VSC lights again. I was taking it back as the EML light was on and he was tweaking the gas trims so the EML light would stay off permanently. I did get the 'paper clip' solution where by you short 2 connections on the OBD socket from a member on here . I think its in the GS300 section. I'll look for it and let you know.

Ls400 Vs Prius !
39buss replied to Adam Evans's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
I'm consistently getting 230 miles from 46 litres of LPG driving round the doors. It was 69.9 but has recently gone up to 71.9ppl so a couple of quid extra on a tank full. The EML light was behaving itself but came on again a few days ago but then went out again and remains so.... ''spoke too soon ''??... hope not!!!. Bought a code reader so will turn off the EML if it persists and saves me going back to the LPG garage each time.
