  1. The LS 430 went for £2200 hammer price plus £300ish commision. No MOT, No Sat/Nav disc, 2 steering column motors needed, warm air/con, baldy tyre. Its going to be a £3000 car without a test drive. PS... it also had a different number...R7KLY
  2. A few Lexus for sale in my local auction ( SMAG Newcastle ) including a 600H L SM09HHL and a 430 02 reg but had a PP Y1PKL removed, tax disc from Oban and had a Klassics Motor Co. from Coatbridge sticker on the screen. Anyone know this one. PS. No Nav Disc. Steering wheel motors need attention, they move but not not very far. £2200 reserve, surprised if it goes that far. Spare wheel looks like its never/hardly been on, Dunlop Sport, original?
  3. It may be worth mentioning the fact that Lexus rear calipers have a long history of seizing.
  4. Foxpond, did you ever get your car fixed. Maybe you could give us an update.
  5. Bit different to the Gateshead trams where I was born. On the door step for me so may have a look at the weekend. Wonder if he's got all the original bits he's took off.
  6. This sympton has been on here a few times and cleaning the throttle body seems to be the cure
  7. Mines a 2001 SE but the rides still choppy unless I'm doing 40 ish up over. Couldn't refuse it when it came up for sale 72000 miles BMWFSH with a couple of nice factory fitted options and one owner. I wont put a picture up unless you ask.
  8. On the MK 3 LS I had I fitted GS300 bonnet struts, very slight difference in length but ok.
  9. Chris The ride was ok, didn't really feel any difference on either 16" or 17" wheels. Bluesman It is a lovely colour with black leather 71.000 miles and someone put a Kenwood media centre plus amp in it, but it never really drove straight, always having to correct it so got sick of that and sold it.
  10. Nice place.....Washington Village, Washington Old Hall is the cradle of the Washington family who's most famous son became 1st president of USA. My GS is now sold and I have an E46 BMW 325 Auto until a really good LS 400/430 becomes available within about 50/80 miles.
  11. This is what happened to my hand brake on a MK2 GS300. The cable seized and broke the housing and the parking brake shoes were catching and vibrating even at low speed and it took some time to fathom what was wrong. I eventually felt the wheels after a run and the off side rear was hot/very warm so that give us a clue and stripped it out to find this.
  12. Here is the GS I used to have with optional GS 300 alloys and LS DHP alloy. Both 17". Gives an idea on how they look on a car.
  13. I'm a Gateshead lad living in Washington and the LOC doesn't specify if you're a Geordie or not. You're either from Co. Durham or Northumberland. A1M to Scotch Corner, A66 to Tebay and M6 South. Nice run on fairly quiet roads but we can pick and choose our travel times. Return journey M6 Tebay to Brough and over the moors on the 'B' road to Barney, Bishop Auckland and A167 North (the old A1) back home. You're right about the other roads and cafes, used them many a time for a good run out.
  14. Yes, both 17" wheels. The first one was standard on the MK2 GS300 and made by Toyota and the other is made by OZ in Italy/Europe, all stamped up on the inside of rim with part numbers, if my memory serves me well. I don't have the GS now but I've still got the nicer wheels.
  15. GS 300 MK2 17" 5 spoke standard wheel and optional alloy both fit the LS400
  16. Anyone on here own a dark coloured MK 4 'R' reg living or working in Carnforth. We were down that way for a few days last week and spotted it in a private car park on the main road, A6, near the shops "Aldi" etc just up from the railway station.
  17. There's a 'T' reg LS 400 with 49000 mls coming up for sale next week. Check BCA Auction site in Essex
  18. Ebay item numbers 291353471127. This is an LS430 04 reg up for sale thats been converted. Would disabling the system bring up a fault code on the dash lights?. Maybe message the owner for some info. 221642869207. 371221077622. Front and rear air suspension kits from Italy. About half the Lexus price. I believe the 1st 430's were normal springs, no massaging seats, fridge, soft close doors, parking sensors etc. The premium pack was an option, but from 2002 all 430's were premium pack and another little face lift in 2004, 18" alloys, reverse camera etc. I stand corrected. Jim
  19. Another view of the 'O' rings. The small bolts holding the pipe unions will be pigs to undo so plenty of Plus Gas before attempting the job. In my experience Kwik fit dont repair A/C systems, they will only re-charge. As stated earlier, the new refridgerant has lube and ultra violet added to see any leaks and oil the working parts as well as the seals. The system must be vacuumed dry so no moisture remains to freeze and block the pipes.
  20. Look for my thread from 3/4 yrs ago on how to remove the back seats from a MK3 LS400. I would think they're both the same. Some photos showing where all the fastenings are. You need a strong flat blade (tyre lever or the like) and push it under the seat front corner and prise up. The springs holding it are VERY strong. Swivel the seat backwards being careful with the wiring and pull apart the bottom of the seat back and back of the seat squab and you will see the nuts holding that part of the seat down. Just had a look for it. 20 Dec 09. There's 2 posts one from me, 39buss and the other from steve 2006
  21. When I had my 2001 GS300 the 'fuel trims' were triggering the EML and needed adjusting. The prevoius owner had renewed all the sensors but the EML still came on after about 10 miles. When I had the trims adjusted at an approved LPG installer he said it might take 2 or 3 attempts as the adjustments were done in either 5% or 10% increments on the laptop. Try an LPG fitter near you for his opinion before spending on sensors
  22. What a good buy, much better than the ones from Preston and Durham and in your choice of colours and near enough on your door step. With 10 Lexus stamps have they not done the cambelt? Worth checking
