I contacted my local dealer to make sure they were aware of the recall ( didnt seem to be ) and they said they had not had any authorisation to carry out this repair YET ! I would suggest you contact your local dealer and make them aware ? and at least get your car on the waiting list going to be a lot of IS 250s out there .
Just had the 40,000 service on my IS 250 Auto, new front disks fitted ( first time ) new pads all round, all filters and fluids changed and MOT, all for just under £600. Quite happy with that , any comments ?
Just had my bake disks checked ( non Lexus dealer ) and the front ones are knacked! gave me a quote for new pads all round and new front disks £320. With 40,000 on the clock I have no complaints and the backdisks are as good as new .
Keep away from the diesels in any shape or form in my opinion , get yourself a nice 2.5SEL petrol for the sake of about 6mpg they are a different car entirely and well worth any fuel saving of the diesel in my opinion.
No idea about the miror problem as mine is as steady as a rock and on #7 the volume on the sat nav is quite loud enough ! if you do happen to miss a direction just say repeat on the voice command and she does , no problem .
Welcome to the IS club and i know you will enjoy your new car, and the giving up smoking will be the best thing you have ever done in a couple of years time and as long as you dont boot the car too much you will have a pleasent surprise with the mileage ( Auto I hope )
Can anyone recommend a good lacquer for the alloys ? just had two wheels refurbished under warranty and I would like to make sure they dont corrode again . Thanks
Peronally I think its pretty much impossible to lock the cars in the car and definitely dont go for a 2.2 diesel, my 250 was in for a service last week and I got a practically new 2.2 .! sluggish, noisy, wouldnt pull 6 at anything less than 70 and an awful booming noiose when I did manage to get into top . Steer clear mate ! GOD was it good to get the 250 back
I have just had a 59 plate loaner with 7000 on the clock for three days an IS 220D manual SE, my own car is a petrol auto SEL , the average mileage was 38.5 and it was a pain to drive ! wouldnt pull sixth till well over 60mph and generally DULL ! no way I would change to a diesel .
Just had a couple of hours at the local Lexus open road day , drove the RX 450 ( Fantastic drive ) and the 450 SE Wow ! did my neck in but not for me , the new mouse control on the RX is a copy from BMW but works correctly and would be a nice little toy .
