  1. Have a look here. I fitted one of these to an IS220 I had a number of years ago. Doddle to fit and excellent in use. It tricks the system into thinking you have a multi disc changer fitted and works through your existing stereo via the steering wheel controls. Highly recommended and a reasonable price. http://www.connects2.co.uk/products/ipod-adapters
  2. Yes this is very similar to mine. Yours do look a lot better after your treatment. What type of paint did you use? Not the sort of thing I would expect to see on a premium car that is just over 18 months old. Mine is still under warranty, so I may well pay my dealer a visit and see what they say.
  3. Hi. I have a 2016 IS300H and have had it since new. I have noticed recently that the front brake calipers have quite a lot of surface rust on them. Whilst I am sure that nothing is unsafe, it is not nice to look at and I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem, and if so, how did they deal with it.
  4. I tried fitting a hard wire kit myself on my 2016 IS300H and eventually managed to find a switched supply. All seemed well when the ignition was turned on and the camera turned on and off as expected with the ignition. However, when I tried to start the car it refused to budge. It seems that the car sensed an extra power supply that it did not recognise. I removed the fuse on the hard wire kit and all returned to normal and the car started up. Don't know if I was just unlucky in finding a sensitive supply, but called it a day. I decided enough was enough and had my local Lexus dealer fit the kit for me. All in I was charged £60 and walked away happy.
  5. Not from mine Vlad. I have never suffered from wind noise in ay condition, regardless of speed.
  6. I had a very minor collision on the way to work this morning when I ran into the back of another car at a roundabout (The usual - he moved off then decided to stop even though the road was clear!). Anyway, no physical damage at all to either car so nothing to report. However, when I got back into my car the dreaded Pop Up Hood failure was indicating on my dash. Having read lots of horror stories on here about £3k repair costs even without any physical damage, I hesitantly rang my local dealer (Lexus Teesside) and spoke with Andy Pederson (their service manager). He advised me to bring the car straight in and they would have a look at it for me. I am very happy to report that the good news is, less than 1 1/2 hours later, the indicator has been reset and the system has been given a clean bill of health. Not only that, there was no charge at all and the car has been valeted inside and out!!! Now that's what I call great service! Thanks to all involved at Lexus Teesside but in particular to Andy Pederson and the technician that helped me out.
  7. Hi. Can anybody tell me how to find the version of navigation / audio firmware installed in my IS300h please?
  8. Got it now. If you have a space between WIPER and 50 it doesn't recognise it. Anyway, just ordered a set of Bosch aero's for £17.94 delivered, so a bargain. Thanks for the tip.
  9. Just tried and it says the code is not recognised or has expired?
  10. Hi Malcolm. Did as you suggested and reception is brilliant now. Thanks for the advice and help.
  11. Cheers Malcolm. I will give this a go and let you know how I get on.
  12. Whilst I can connect and use my iPhone SE without any problems in my IS300H, I am often told that the call quality at the other end of the line is c**p. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the phone, without success. The sound quality coming into the car is perfect, so no problem with the phone signal, so it seems to be a problem with the car. Incidentally, my CT200H was exactly the same as this one, so is it a common problem with Lexus cars? I would appreciate any help that people can give to resolve the problem.
  13. Look on Ebay for a Connects2 system. I had one in my old IS220D and it worked perfectly. Plugs into the back of the head unit and fools the system into thinking a CD autochanger is connected. Works from steering wheel controls and track info etc appears on the head screen. Cost me around £80 from memory but well worth the money.
  14. You have my sympathies. The first Lexus I owned was a 2004 IS220D which I bought second hand a number of years ago. I had issues with black smoke and the engine needed a full decoke at a cost of £4k, which fortunately Lexus fixed for me under warranty. However, within a few months the black smoke started to appear again, so I traded the car in for a new C class Mercedes 220 diesel. Lovely car but a bit expensive to run overall. More recently I moved on to a CT200 which was a lovely car, just not pokey enough or large enough for me. I now have a new IS300H and can honestly say it is the best car I have ever owned. It is simply light years ahead of anything else I have owned over the years (including the Mercedes) and I would recommend it to anybody. Interestingly, Lexus do not do diesel cars any more which says it all. I believe that they (Toyota) did a deal a number of years ago to have diesel engines supplied to them by BMW in exchange for Toyota providing BMW with hybrid systems. Believe me, hybrid petrol is the way to go. Have a look at the IS300H. You won't be disappointed.
  15. Thanks for the reply, and sorry to be a pain, but how do you do the update?
  16. I play my music through the stereo from a memory stick. Works fine apart from it often reverts back to the first song on the list as opposed to carrying on from where I left off after the ignition is switched off and back on again. Can anyone help with a solution for this?
  17. I can confirm that with this unit, the iPod will start / stop with the ignition and the iPod will also be charged whilst connected so no need to remove the iPod at all. Once it is connected via the standard iPod cable it does everything you would expect from the head unit, with full control available via either the head unit or the steering wheel controls. You simply select the iPod input from the head unit and play away. Artists, songs etc can be searched for and selected as with an auto changer Like I said earlier, give them a call. They are very helpful and will answer all of your questions. As an aside, when I sold the car I removed the box I had and sold it on eBay and recovered £50 of the original £120 I paid for it. Money well spent in my view. Ive never seen the Lexus aftermarket system so cannot comment on that one, but I can certainly vouch for the connects2 system. And before anybody asks, I have no connection with the company at all, just offering the friendly advice that was asked for in the original post.
  18. You don't need to do any wiring. Just unplug the cable connector from the back of the head unit and the connector that comes supplied with the box piggy backs onto the back of that one. Once it is all plugged back in again, the system works as normal. So yes it does respond to the ignition. The hardest part was getting the head unit out, but a search on here will reveal how to do that.
  19. Not sure. From what I remember the box fools the car into thinking you have an autochanger fitted and plays straight from the iPod with full control through the head unit and also from the steering wheel. Their customer service is really good and helpful, and will answer all of your questions.
  20. Have a look at this link. I had one on my old IS220 and it worked a treat. Full steering wheel control etc and easy to fit...plug and play once you have removed the head unit. http://www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/ICONNECT-FM-LEXUS
  21. Hi, I am looking at hard wiring a dash cam in my IS300H but cannot seem to locate the internal fuse box. Any ideas?
  22. The rotary dial can be turned to move between tracks and folders, turning clockwise moves the curser down and anti-clockwise moves it up. Just navigate this way rather than moving the wheel left / right / up / down etc and it is super quick.
  23. Buy a CT200H. I have just taken delivery and I absolutely love it. Mid size family car that ticks all the boxes and is a joy to drive.
  24. Hi. I am getting to terms with my new CT200 Advance, but I cannot seem to find out how the Lexus Navigation system is updated. Can anybody advise how this is achieved? I am also led to believe that an annual upgrade is available free of charge from Lexus. Is this true? Appreciate any help the 'experts' on here can give me.
  25. Thanks for the help gents. I've got the day / night mode sorted so thanks for the help. Not sure bout the folding mirrors. I may have to get in touch with the dealer to see if its an option. Once again, thanks for the help
