  1. Hi mate, Welcome to LOC. I hope you find all you need here :) Mike
  2. I've found the port. Under the steering column. If you put you head down by the pedals, you can see it easily. Mine has a white plastic cover over it. Thing is, when I connected my OBDII reader, it says "Linking Error" I have no idea why this is? Oh well, worth a shot. I have no EML problems, but I was just going to run a diagnostics on it anyway. Thanks Mike
  3. Hey, if your going to travel up, give me a shout and, if I'm not busy, I'll come down and meet you somewhere in Basingstoke and then we could convoy up together and make it a mini fix it meet!!! I'm always up for offering a hand.. Thanks Mike
  4. Yes, I agree, there was a moment of weakness, but it is nicer than a "nasty old 4x4". Now you're making up sayings!!! "nice Rover 75 diesel estate" is there such a thing? Having said that, my dad is in the market for a diesel car and loves the Rover 75, especially, the estate, so if you're serious, PM me with the details and I'll pass them on to him. Thanks Mike
  5. Roy, I had it advertised for £1750, but I'm not sure what it's actually worth. Mike
  6. Malc, Best place to be.....they don't make 'em like they used too :) Mike
  7. Hi all, I've decided to keep my LS and so today thought I would give it a clean as it's been stood since 13/12/10. Here is the result. Add that to the fact that it rides like its on air......and I'm in love again :) Mike
  8. A battery from the Lexus dealer is only £65, well maybe a bit more with the VAT increase. My '98 LS had a dodgy battery when I bought it and it was doing all sorts of strange things. £55 (including my Gold discount) at the dealer and the car is like new again. Dodgy batteries / connections can cause havoc on an LS. Mike
  9. Welcome to LOC. Yep, I was the same, bought a Lexus and now wished I'd done it years ago. Mike
  10. Welcome to both of you...enjoy the forum and enjoy your new cars. Mike
  11. Hi and welcome to LOC. An LS460 eh? Now I'm jealous :( Mike
  12. Welcome to LOC. I'm not up on the IS, but I'm sure an expert will be along soon. Mike
  13. Hi mate and welcome to LOC!
  14. I agree. My MKIV had a battery failure just after I bought it (on the day I bought it in fact) and it was like a human body closing down. First of all I had Headlight Levelling System error, then VSC inactive, or something came up, then it ran lumpy, then it died. New battery from Lexus for £55 (including Gold discount) and all is fine now. Run the car into a local MDC or similar as they can check batteries and alternators. Thanks Mike
  15. Andy, It failed the MOT on the rear upper balljoint, which meant I had to replace the entire arm, so if you're right, one of these has been done anyway. Sod it, I'll let it fail (if it does) in November and take it from there. Thanks Mike
  16. It was a close one but welcome back :) :) Andy Thanks mate. Christmas is out the way too, so I reckon we need to sort this south coast meet out soon, don't you? Mike
  17. At least my possible misfortune could serve to benefit others :)
  18. Hi all, I have been fighting with myself regarding selling my LS. I am now cured and will be keeping the car. In November, when it passed the MOT, there where a couple of advisories, these being:- 1) Offside Front suspension has slight play in a lower suspension balljoint - Simple enough 2) Nearside Rear Inner Front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush - ? 3) Offside Rear Inner Front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush - ? Has anyone got a diagram they can post here to let me know where I should be looking for numbers 2 and 3? Thanks Mike
  19. Scribe, They always say that the road to recovery begins with realising that you have a problem. Yes, my name is Mike and I have a problem, I wanted to sell my Lexus. However, I think with the aid of some strong drugs and the support of my family, I have managed to pull myself through and the Lexus is now insured again. I took my daughter to work in it this morning and realised what I had been missing. Thanks to all for sticking with me through the traumatic time, but I think I'm cured now :) Mike
  20. I have weakened.... The Explorer is now on Ebay, I am going to try and keep the Lexus, but need to sell whichever one goes first :) I have re-insured the LS though and will be driving it until, hopefully, the Ford sells. As my dad once said "Once you've driven a Lexus, you won't want to drive anything else" Damn him for being right about that :) Thanks
  21. Hi all, I've bought myself an OBD II code reader / resetter and I wondered if a '98 MKIV has a port and if so, where is it? Thanks Mike
  22. Malc, I think I have fallen victim to "don't know what you've got til it's gone" It's sat outside my house and I'm missing it. When I start it, I sit in it and it even smells nice inside :( Anyone want to buy a Ford Explorer :) Mike
  23. I've got a '98 MKIV LS400 for sale (on here). Has 214k on clock. Lexus serviced until 180k ish (stamped in book), then independent. 4 owners, in pretty good nick. Selling as I have bought a 4x4, but now thinking perhaps I'll keep the LS as I'm missing it :( Thanks Mike
  24. Thanks Ian, I have postponed / cancelled fitting these sensors as I have bought myself a 4x4 and am looking to sell my beloved LS. I just wish I could afford to keep both. Thanks Mike
