  1. Hey, I found it, so you can donate your LPG's MKII to me as a finders fee. Thanks Mike
  2. Hi all, Just spotted THIS on Ebay and wondered if anybody here might fancy it. Surely it's worth that for parts? Mike
  3. Yes, welcome to LOC. Ah, an LS430, I would love one of those :) Mike
  4. Hi, I have a '98 MKIV LS400 with 214k on the clock. On a recent run to Gatwick, I averaged 35.2mpg door to door (inc. return). Around town, I get 17-19mpg, which I have recently checked with the litres vs. miles calculation as opposed to relying on the on board computer. I am fairly new to Lexus myself, having only owned mine for 11 months, but I must say, it's much better than any of the 7 series BMW's I owned up until now, and I never thought I'd say that :) Go for it. I will, hopefully, someday upgrade to a 430. Thanks Mike
  5. Hi and welcome to LOC! Mike
  6. Hi, welcome to LOC. I too have a "soft spot" for the GS and have been looking at them for a while now. Enjoy!!
  7. I must, I must resist the lure of a Rover 75 Diesel...... I have been known to sway from the Lexus a little bit and it has come close of late too. However, if I can sell this Explorer, the Lex stays. Just can't afford both and a road legal quad with only 1 driver in the family. Stupot - welcome and what a car eh? Mike
  8. I have a '98 MKIV and have been paying close attention to MPG of late. On a recent run to Gatwick (I live in reading) I averaged 35.2mpg which I was very happy with. In town, stuck in Reading traffic for about 20mins to travel 3 miles, I get about 17-19mpg, which means your £25 at Readings £1.339, should do me about 70miles. I don't think that's bad for a 4.0 litre top end car either. I agree with sir john, brim to brim is the only way to be sure!!! Thanks Mike
  9. OK,thanks guys.... Once I've sold this Explorer, I'll give you both a shout and we'll have to arrange something. Thanks Mike
  10. hmmmm, What do you reckon THESE are like? Worth a shot as they are only £52 per pair? Thanks Mike
  11. Andy, Will do mate. How much are they each from the dealer...In fact, how much for both....in for penny and all that :) Thanks Mike
  12. Yes mate, £100 or a goat and a calf, or some other farm animal :) Mike
  13. Hi and welcome to LOC. Mike
  14. Yeah, and I found soemone to give me a hand to replace my front lower balljoint when I get round to doing it :) Mike
  15. Steve, That's right, he didn't show :( Still, gave me the opportunity to meet TigerFish and take my LS for a run down the A33 :) Mike
  16. I bought a new battery for my '98 MKIV from Lexus Reading in October and it was £65. Sounds like a good place to start :) Thanks Mike
  17. I'm not sire which OBDII readers will work. I have one (cheap one from Ebay) which doesn't work on my '98 LS400, but I think (or was told by another member) that although my car has the port, the wiring is not there, or at least not fully wired. The port will be in the car, probably on the drivers side right down near your feet. That's part of the standard for OBDII compliant vehicles. If you're local to me, I'm quite happy to try my reader on your car :) Thanks Mike
  18. Banjo, Welcome to the world of LS ownership. I'm sure it'll be a great car and it's a move you'll never regret. Thanks Mike
  19. Ruud, Well done on returning to Lexus and well done on the purchase. It's been close for me over the past month....nearly sold my MKIV, but I'm back too. Mine too has an ancient car kit in it. Mine has a Nokia 2110 :) Thanks Mike
  20. Hello and welcome to LOC. Mike
  21. Hi mate, Welcome to LOC. MMM IS300, nice :) Mike
  22. Hey mate, Thanks for your hospitality today, it was nice to meet you! At least now you know about the OBDII port, as do I :) Thanks Mike
  23. I have been watching this thread with interest as my '98 MKIV also does this. I was looking to change the gearbox oil just because of this, even though the car has a full Lexus service history. I don't think I'll bother now, I'll just get used to it as I consider it a small price to pay as, as david_hornet27 said above, the car is "perfect in almost every other way". BTW david, I too am in Reading, keep an eye out for a Gold '98 MKIV in south Reading, that'll be me :) Thanks Mike
