  1. Welcome to LOC, Brian!
  2. If you have a phone kit in the car, that would mute the stereo, but should only do it a call. Try moving the fader / balance just in case its certain speakers that have blown. Mike
  3. First of all, welcome to LOC. I have a '98 MKIV and, if yours is a MKIV, I think the radio staions will show on the screen if they are stored in memory. However, even with the aerial halfway up, you should still receive the local stations. Try MW / LW or even a cassette to test the unit itself. Thanks Mike
  4. Yes, Lexus have said that they have NEVER supplied a replacement gearbox for the LS400. Mike
  5. I have a '98 LS400 with 213,000 on the clock and it drives like a car with 10k on it. I too had a couple of suspension related advisories for the MOT, but I'll leave it till they fail next year...if they do? The most reliable well built car I've ever owned and I thought my 7 series BMW's were good.... Mike
  6. Hi Jonathan, Welcome to LOC. Ian, welcome to you too. Mike
  7. Welcome to LOC......Enjoy!
  8. I bought one for my '98 LS400 from Camberley Auto Factors for £56. Not sure if it's the same but might be worth a look. Also there are a few listed on Ebay.com (USA). Thanks Mike
  9. I had this on one of my 7 series BMW's. This is how I found out what it was.... To eliminate the sunroof, or indeed indentify it as the culprit, put some masking tape round the edges of the roof so that you are in fact taping it shut. Then run up to 60 and see if it's gone. If so, you have the culprit, if not, then you know it's not the roof. May sound silly, but it sorted the 7. Thanks Mike
  10. Welcome to LOC. Try Ebay for the handbook, they come up on there sometimes. Mike
  11. Welcome to LOC and enjoy your new car. Have a "great" weekend!! Mike
  12. Phil, Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to LOC. Mike
  13. Well done Brian. I bet you are like an excited little schoolboy!!! Enjoy life back in an LS> Mike
  14. Hi and Welcome to LOC I am not up to speed on the IS, but I am sure an expert will be along soon. Mike
  15. Hi and Welcome to LOC!! Mike
  16. Welcome to LOC! Ah, LS430, that's where I'm looking to go to. Get some pics of it up on here. I currently own a MKIV LS400 and I would have to agree with Mark "Its one of them cars the longer you own it the more you love it". I normally change cars every 2-3 months but I've had my LS for 8 months now, and still love it to bits. Mike
  17. Yeah, I agree.... Years ago my dad said "once you've driven a Lexus, you won't want to drive anything else". He had a 1993 LS400, which was about 10 years old at the time. I said, "yeah whatever, I have a 7 Series" Now I have an LS400 and can, at last understand what he meant :) Mike
  18. Steve, Well done on the modernisation. I currently own a '98 MKIV, but with all the clear front light mods appearing on here, I am starting to fall in love with the look of the earlier Marks. Nice looking motor mate! Mike
  19. Nathan, Welcome to LOC. I too have been into my "big" cars for a while with a list that includes 5, 7 series BM's and 3 Omega's including a manual MV6 3.0, which was a great "drivers" car. Anyway, welcome again. Mike
