  1. Ideally, you should have your main PC connected to the router via CAT5. This will give that PC total control at all times over the router. If your Netgear is the same as mine (mine isn't the RangeMax but is 108Mbps) then dig through the configurations as you may only get 108Mbps connectivity if you use channel 6. Also, ensure that the USB dongle is on the end of the supplied lead and it is positioned vertically as they seem to work better in that position.
  2. I personally would recommend Novatech. For one the helpline (should you require it) is not in India. I have heard amusing and pathetic stories about Dells' support. Also with Novatech you can specify that you want a pucker XP CD and not a 'restore CD' or restore partition. And, if you are within range, you can go and collect.
  3. Mine is an early 2004. Escaine/Leather (full leather as standard came later into 2004). Just qualified for the smoked glass head & tail lights. Dashtray with lid introduced 2003/2004.
  4. Ok thanks. Because I tend to keep my wheels clean and the car is garaged this is why my wheels have lasted 3 years with only slight corrosion now starting to appear. I suspect that any refurbs will last longer than a year so I will only qualify for one change. Again, thanks for the reply, obviously a rare request ?
  5. Have a word with Hando, he used one at Park Royal that I think was OK.
  6. When it starts chugging open Task Manager, then click the CPU column so that they are listed top down and see what process is taking the most resources. From this you/we should be able to pin down what the offending application is.
  7. Mine have just started to bubble in places. Not serious but they are going to look at them in a few weeks at the annual service and make a decision. I wonder if I do get a refurbished set currently within the 3 year warranty period and the refurbs start to corrode, are they covered by warranty or is that it - one change only ?
  8. No problems for me either. I'm using Verbatim CDR printables burnt at 4x on a recent Phillips CD/DVD burner via Nero 7.
  9. That takes me back. I went to Denton Central and then on to Two Trees (back in the 60's though).
  10. Tony - I assume we are talking 35psi (cold) ? If you remember you set mine to 35psi but I had just driven 10 miles (in the summer). The following morning when they had cooled I checked them again and they were down to 31psi which I immediately raised back to 35psi.
  11. I decided some time ago to fit the Brodit IS200 specific holder and attach the associated holder for my TomTom One. At first all seemed OK but after a while I noticed a rattle coming from the area. After some investigation over a few weeks I discovered that the Brodit was causing the rattle. The upshot is that as far as I can tell both the AirCon switches housing and the air vent housing both flex slightly on the bumps. With the Brodit attached the AirCon unit is locked solid to the side of the dash but the air vent housing still flexes, hence a rattle as the left interior clip brushes against its lower counterpart. Whilst driving with the Brodit fitted I could stop the rattle by opening the top dash tray and pulling forward the top tray unit slightly. Releasing the pressure, the unit drops back slightly and the rattle continues. Removing the Brodit has cured the rattle. Back to the window sucker then
  12. With Nero7 beware of which version/release you are using. Some of the earlier releases have a problem with 'animated DVD menus'. The static one's work OK though.

  14. What to do if your dog eats the ignition key chip: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/souther...ies/5382878.stm
  15. If your like me and hopeless at chip restoration via the supplied tin of paint and artists brush or pinhead then I would suggest - from Halfords get one of their kits that comes with a 'nib applicator'. Get one the closest match to yours, tip out the paint and fill it with some from your 'tin'. This makes filling in the chips a lot more accurate and you can control the paint flow much easier. I think I got a Rover Tahiti Blue which is very close to my montrose blue.
  16. Hopefully on the mend and will make a full recovery. The stats: Vampire Estimated top speed: 370mph Acceleration: 0 to 272mph in 6 seconds Engine: Rolls Royce Orpheus Fuel economy: 7-10 gallons per mile Weight: 2,200 lbs (998kg) Length: 30 feet (9.14m)
  17. Quite a lot of cameras flash when there is nothing on the road. On loads of occasions I have been flashed by a camera on the opposite carriageway when that side is empty. Also noted that some get confused when 2 vehicles pass close together, especially when one vehicle is in the inside lane under the limit and the second is just moving out to overtake on the limit. I also reckon you won't hear a thing.
  18. I have the TomTom One (mark 1) and it is superb. Also TomTom have upgraded their software across the model range so that you now need to key in a PIN to activate the unit = useless if nicked.
  19. Some wag near me changed a Golf GTI into a GOLF GIT - very appropriate I thought.
  20. As a first hit go to > your user name > cookies and delete the lot.
  21. I would have thought that the £610 would cover quite a few problems, should any occur in a 3 year old Lexus. Ditto for 2 years.
  22. Even removing the windscreen clamp is not enough these days. They are now looking closer to see any tell tale signs of a clamp by the circular mark left behind. This is why I am now using a dedicated IS200 Brodit mount which looks to the unitiated like an empty phone mount.
  23. I can see where the statement to not buy new comes into this. However, if you are like me, you want to know exactly the history of the car. If you have spotted a one year old example on a dealer forecourt, why is it there with such a short life? Did the last owner have problems? is it accident damaged? Has it been treated roughly? I think buying new is buying peace of mind.
  24. If they want cash up front then what's to stop them paying £10 and then putting in £40 and driving off ? Can they regulate how much is dispensed ?
