  1. I bought a Fellows cross cut, P45C I think, and it is cr@p. It is forever clogging and the alleged facility to shred multiple sheets is misleading. Give it any more than 2 sheets and it virtually grinds to a halt. Just waiting for it to burn out so I can justify another one.
  2. My TomTom One has also never let me down but it is in the £200 bracket.
  3. Being as the climate control needs to ascertain the interior temperature to function properly it would be nice if they displayed somewhere what it thinks is the current interior temperature. Agree with the mirrors moving when you select reverse, had that on a few Citroens and it was a boon. I would have liked it on both mirrors though. Being as you set the reverse angles it could be used, or not, as required. 12v socket in the boot would be handy.
  4. Ditto - got to agree
  5. As a reference for Tony, I had my geo done by him and currently I am still on my original Dunlop tyres. They have done just over 26K and still have loads of tread left across the tyres which are wearing evenly.
  6. With the reported shortage of IS250 models and members having to wait months, how come there is a pre-registered Jan06 model available with only 6 miles on the clock ? Where's it been ?
  7. Wouldn't be a recent Speed Camera Database would it
  8. Just for info Spotted (and ordered) >> THIS << to avoid having the noticeable windscreen SatNav holder in full view. Followed up with the matching holder for my TomTom One >> HERE <<
  9. Car dealers are pretty cute when it comes to assessing peoples moods. You may have unwittingly given the impression that you are eager to get your hands on a IS250 as early as possible, even if it's not the spec you ordered. The dealer maybe has noted this, and is going down the lines of, 'if we stand firm then we know he will cave in and pay the extra because he's eager'. This extra they are getting will help offset the earlier discount agreed. I agree with the others and I would tell them that the current deal is right at the top of your budget and you cannot afford or justify the extra £1200. The best way to tackle this is with a calm visit to the showroom, ask if there is any change in deal, and then just simply say, OK, see you in October and walk. I don't think I would threaten cancelling if it's a car you are really keen on, biting off nose etc.
  10. £160+ sounds fine to me. I have a new one on my list of refurbishments later this year. Those M25 roadworks certainly put a spread of tiny chips all over mine. Not that you would notice until close up, much like the bonnet & bumper
  11. I've suffered in the past from Ford (Fix Or Repair Daily) service receptions as well. Not a patch on Lexus in that area.
  12. Or A1 enter 150 B1 enter 10 C1 enter A1/B1
  13. I have been keeping an eye on what Parkers think trade in values should be on my 2004 SE Auto. I know they are not realistic but last month was quite a drop: Aug 2004 - £305 Sep 2004 - £305 May 2005 - £300 Jun 2005 - £305 Jul 2005 - £305 Aug 2005 - £300 Sep 2005 - £255 Nov 2005 + £105 Jan 2006 - £105 Apr 2006 - £100 May 2006 - £100 Jun 2006 - £555 = current estimate of £13,080 The missing months are when the value did not alter.
  14. Me too - glowing review, will upset Clarkson :)
  15. A colleague had to use the relay service some time ago and wasn't impressed. One thing to note about the 'relay' service - it is exactly that - a relay. Each unit has it's own area and the idea is to take you to the edge of the area and then transfer you to another vehicle who transports you across their area. This was quite a few years ago but on each changeover the receiving unit had not arrived so they were left in a layby until the other unit turned up. At that time mobile phones were not the norm so they had no way of checking whether they had been forgotten about. In all the 300 mile journey took 7 hours. The RAC however, advertise that the recovery service is a 'single journey'. The AA may have changed recently but just a point to note if a long recovery is required.
  16. I posted my ploy recently on this............ I scoured the Halfords kits for the closest match, then took it home, emptied the contents of the paint tube and refilled it with my Lexus touch up. Now got the proper colour in a 'nib' applicator. This was because I'm no good at applying paint either
  17. Read the comments posted after the first enquiries. >> Ebay For Sale << Well it made me laugh !
  18. Yep, that's the one. I've got one of those lipstick things but I find that they don't last long as the next wash seems to remove it.
  19. I've had experience of the Halfords paint sets/kits before with some success. Trying to apply the Lexus touchup paint with a brush has never been my strong point. I went to Halfords and got a Rover Tahiti Blue kit which contains the primer, paint and laquer plus a couple of tools for preparing and finishing off. The Rover Tahiti was the closest match for my Montrose Blue. Emptied the Tahiti and using a dropper I had handy, refilled with the Montrose Blue. Using the 'nib' applicator I have been able to far more accurately place the paint where it needed to go. = proper job :)
  20. Mine have done 25K from new (28 months) and they have just started to go in places. Mainly the spoke inner leading edges on the front and a couple of 5p size bubbles appearing on the rear nearside only ! I will only require 4 as the spare has never been used.
  21. Spybot Search & Destroy is another useful ally http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
  22. The reports indicate that the fraud is being committed using foreign ATM's. So a simple answer would be to block foreign cash machines exept by special request. I have no intention of going abroad myself so if my card was used abroad then get the ATM to block it and keep it !
  23. On Wednesday my local Tesco had suspended chip&pin for some reason. If this carries on they need to introduce chip&pin and a fingerprint reader.
  24. I have the same tyres from new, they have now done 25K and they are showing no signs of wear. I reckon that if they wear at the rate they are doing now I am looking at at least 60K out of them! Dunlop SP9000's I know that is hard to believe but I can still get my little finger nail right in the tread. I suppose that it is down to my daily journey being 95% dual carriageway and motorway with few corners. Oh, and yes, Tony has sorted my geo.
