  1. The MKI sport standard size is 245/40/18 8.5j front and rear. They made an optional wide rear wheel upgrade which is what you are quoting and they never changed the wheel geometry which is why they eat through tyres.
  2. The pressures for the 18" wheels came from a member who contacted Lexus GB. I would go with 35 unless you find it too hard. I run 34 psi in mine.
  3. I guess it depends on how you drive. I've had 4 cars with cruise and if careful can get better economy without using it.
  4. in the knowledgebase: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...ex_v2&id=44&c=3
  5. SC430 service should be no different to a GS430. Around £150-200 for 10,000 and £200-300 for a full service depending on what fluids need changing and not including any extras such as pads, discs etc.
  6. Try cleaning the MAF sensor - there isn't much more you can do, the RX just isn't good for economy. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge..._v2&id=152&c=11
  7. Dealer probably wouldn't do it, they will say it is factory fit only. This is the same as Sat Nav on the IS but it is possible to fit it you get all the parts and spend a lot of time fitting them. The cost of the parts probably wouldn't make it worth while, I'm sure it would run to well over £1000. There is the motor, wiring loom/connectors, ECU, mounting brackets, lock etc.
  8. I think your calculations are wrong, you won't get that mpg from a GS and certainly not a sport with it's wider and heavier wheels/tyres. There aren't too many places in the UK that are flat so what the Dutch government found isn't really relevant. Also some CC don't maintain the set speed 100% so it slows a little on a hill which aids economy, however the Toyota system always stays within 0.5 mph and when it does use the throttle is does it harder than a driver may choose to. I've tested this a few times on my old GS300 and my GS430 and I can get better economy by not using the CC.
  9. Not sure how to remove the bonding glue. The lip should be fixed with a couple of screws under the lip and the bonding glue. You could try a hairdrier, don't get it too close and it shouldn't affect the paintwork and don't heat it up too quickly. Paint is designed to stand up to high heat, feel the temperature of your roof when the sun has been on it for a couple of hours in the summer. You will probably still need some chemical to fully remove it, don't know what to use without damaging the paint.
  10. RE050 probably has too stiff a side wall for you considering you have also just lowered the tyre profile. Too much change at once? RE050 are standard fit to things like the Honda S2000 sports car, not really a luxury tyre.
  11. The table is correct but just because a rim has an offset within that range doesn't mean it will feel 100% unless you get the wheel geometry set up corectly. RX wheels wouldn't be correct. The correct size tyre for 17" rims is 235/45/17 and the IS rims are really too thin being only 7". 17" GS rims are 7.5" wide.
  12. You can never change your oil too often but I don't see the point in changing every 6k with the type of engine you have and the journeys you do. It's not like you have a turbo or highly modified engine that is putting the oil under high stress. Changing at the recommended intervals using fully synthetic oil, your engine will probably be good for at least 300k miles.
  13. try moving the valves from side to side to see if you can hear the air leaking. If that's the problem then try pulling then with some pliers otherwise you will need new valves.
  14. You have the standard CC. Adaptive is the radar/laser guided system that will adjust speed if there is something in front of you. You also get the pre-crash safety system but these two things are a £2k option.
  15. cheers for the advice? i think i will to be on the safe said.where do u recommed?how much will it cost? should i avoid getting one from the dealer? ← The problem with the stock battery is it's just too small being only 45Ah. Doesn't matter where you get it from just make sure it has a higher capacity but will still physically fit. A good one shouldn't cost you more than £60 maximum.
  16. The fluid will always be circulating, the engine should be running when you check the level.
  17. Make sure you bring down the level, overfilling is not good for the transmission.
  18. Yes Toyota plugs have been designed for long life, 60 or 100k miles. The Denso power plugs are the high performance ones, I don't think they are any different to the HKS or TRD ones.
  19. Not all the US settings are available for UK vehicles. Lexus GB won't allow me to publish the UK settings so you need to ask your dealer (who probably won't know) or Lexus customer services.
  20. get a new battery. The standard one isn't up to much.
  21. I don't know, I thought they were. Either way it certainly wasn't from the factory as the sport is created from a factory SE when it arrives in the UK.
  22. IS wheels are too thin for those size tyres. The IS wheels are too thin for the GS and have a different offset. What tyres did you use? You have told us the range of tyre, Potenzas, but there are 4 different types, some of which are not that good. Going to a 60/70 profile will put your speedo well out if you are keeping the same width. I would also recommend you get your wheel geometry set up correctly. That may well sort out your fighting with the steering wheel.
  23. Dextron II or III will be fine then. Don't see the point in using Mobil 1 and then draining every 5 or 6k unless all you do is just 2 or 3 mile journeys. The service schedule is every 9 or 10k and that's without specifying fully synthetic.
  24. Well I would say the RX has 7 way seats not 8 but yes both front seats on the UK RX300 have lumbar and base tilt.
