  1. yes although it may be safer for somebody to operate the washer and then you can get hold it up rather than having to pull it - you will get wet that way ;)
  2. Do you have a link? The ICE you can get from dealers doesn't go near the head unit as it's only for the rear passengers.
  3. just pull it up and give a good squirt of WD40 in the mechanism . That should sort it, if not then let the dealer look at it.
  4. Why doesn't he just spend the night around a friends house?
  5. just order the two items from ebuyer. You won't save that much as the PCI card is only about £20 and ebuyer is slightly more expensive than the comet deal + postage.
  6. Yes it's a good price (few £ less than ebuyer, dabs etc) and good products. If you need a PCI wireless card that is another matter - If your desktop machine will be near the router just use an UTP cable.
  7. Yes it does control a lot if not all of the things listed. It is in engine bay fuse box. Think it just pulls out - will be tight.
  8. The Sat Nav unit has a connection for the drivers speaker so you could either use the passenger or one of the rear speakers. The Lexus phone system uses the drivers side rear speaker.
  9. Does look like the ALT fuse is blown.
  10. You need to check the fuses with a meter to make sure they are ok. Not sure if the link is visible or not on those fuses. You can replace them but I'm not sure if you can get those from Halfords - may have to be a dealer. No it is not a common fault for problem with the throttle.
  11. If the electronic throttle fails then as a backup the throttle cable will still work the butterfly in the throttle body - but only a limited range so you have to press the pedal down a long way before it works. Clearly there is something wrong with the car and rather than clearing the ECU it would be better to diagnose the fault and fix it?
  12. 5 at dealers http://www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=h...on=&metacolour= or mileage too high?
  13. That is incorrect, the speakers are not active. Active speakers are when an amplifier is built into the speaker module, the speaker will have power as well as the audio input going to it, like some speakers for your computer. The GS has a separate amplifier to the head unit but not amps in the speaker modules.
  14. There are a few things not on the list of things that are not working - didn't test them, forgot to list them or working? Makes it easier to diagnose if you have all the facts.
  15. My advise is in this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...=16862&hl=spike
  16. In the engine bay fuse box there is a 120A ALT fuse and 40A AM1 fuse. Check those, disconnect the battery first before pulling those and they may be hard to remove. Also can you list the things that do work as well as the things that don't.
  17. Get you home mode as you call it is the electronic throttle not working and you are just using the old style throttle cable to open the throttle (which only works on the last 1/4 of the accelerator pedal). There could be a number of reasons why the electronic throttle isn't working - your problem is just one - very unlikely to be this actual problem due to the other problems.
  18. Buy a TomTom Go. If you want the Lexus Sat Nav then it would cost you £3000+ if buying new parts from Lexus.
  19. It's bad connectors but you can get to the panel or not to fix is the issue.
  20. For the same spec I wouldn't spend £5k more. Then again I personally wouldn't want a BMW anyway due to the image and high cost.
  21. I guess the marks weren't there when it was first sprayed as it would have been spotted in the factory and resprayed. Sounds like whatever was on the paint has damaged it. Should all be sorted out under warranty though.
  22. Found this on TOC, dec 95 - dec 97 GSs use this system (the IIIB system) Don't know where the ECU is - possible under one of the front seats. Should have TVSS written on it.
