  1. also if you aren't wearing a seatbelt those airbags will do you more harm than good.
  2. That's because it costs over £200 for a replacement airbag which is the only way of changing the badge. Don't think they can advertise it as a Lexus - it is a Toyota Harrier.
  3. No the series I mirrors are not photochromatic. Guy at work had his mirror broken off in a car park on his Audi A4. Cost £400 to have a new one fitted and they let him off 1 hours labour which would have cost another £100.
  4. well you got me a boot light and oil filter for my lexus ,FULL STOP ← Is that statement aimed at Chris? His dealership is an authorised Lexus dealer.
  5. Some dealers may also own a Lexus dealership so can get away with it. As Chris said some parts are available because they are also used on Toyota models so if you know the part number they can order it - they cannot look it up by your chassis number because the EPG won't display Lexus info unless it is unlocked.
  6. 60k for 2000+ models for some reason in this country even though the plug will last 100k. You guess you are thinking of the cambelt?
  7. Cannot say I've been dazzled by OEM HIDs, normally it's poorly adjusted standard lights. I don't have a problem with fogs if the dipped beams are on as well. As Jiberjaber has said it's the idiots that drive with only them on, fog lights are designed to only light the road a few meters in front of you, by the time you see something it may well be too late.
  8. You certainly wouldn't have to go to 240v and back down. Depends what voltage the PSU is - 18v at the most. I think the machine uses a notebook hard drive rather than a desktop one so the machine probably only uses +5v internally so you many be in luck that the PSU is only 12v
  9. If you are a member of the RAC then go with them as you should get a discount.
  10. You may be an IS owner but this isn't a question directly about an IS is it? :P Moving to general.
  11. It's a common failure of early series II GSs. People have found replacements at breakers.
  12. another good reason to stick with the one you have keith ← We need to ask Paul what he gets. It may be better than the Supra or maybe it was the Supra owners I knew all had heavy feet. The Euro versions, as well as being more powerful, were better on fuel.
  13. If the GS TT is like the JDM Supra TT then you won't get over 20mpg average.
  14. Not sure where you get that price from? I've never seen an average mileage MKIV that cheap. Both wharcar? and parkers value a private sale at around £12,000 for 60,000 miles.
  15. Toyota dealers can get TTE parts. They can also get any Toyota part but maybe if the part number if for Lexus only the system will not let them order it. Easy to check, just phone up the dealer and ask for a price on that part number. You could always join our Gold scheme and order parts from a dealer and get them shipped to you - at discount prices.
  16. 2000+ I wonder if they mean late 2000+ which is the LS430 and the DVD system. Certainly some countries were never supported on the CD based system. If a CD does exist for Ireland then I would try and test one - it will probably work.
  17. There are a few importers bringing in Harriers. The price looks good at first until you find out most only have the smaller engine. The 2.4 engine is a 160bhp 4 cylinder. The gearbox is a 4 speed compared to the 5 speed in the series II RX300. It is available in both 2WD and 4WD so you should make sure you know which it is. Equipment levels are lower than the UK models and I would say resale values will be lower, especially as the importers price them just under UK RX300 prices even though they cost a lot less to import.
  18. For a Toyota dealer to service Lexus they need to be authorised which means mechanics have to be trained on Lexus vehicles etc. Lexus is just marketing, the vehicles are higher priced and the spares and labour rates reflect this. The price of spare parts doesn't have very much to do with the cost to manufacture that part but more to do with what they can charge for the market they are in.
  19. One member has done it. Took many many hours to do. How cheap you can get the bits and what you value your time at?
  20. All parts come in Toyota boxes and have Toyota on them. Do those pads fit any Toyota models in this country? If not then they are only a 'Lexus' part.
  21. Are the sensors that the dealer is quoting for intergrated ones for the LS430? Ones that are factory fitted are linked into the car so you can adjust sensitivity and view what is going on on the main LCD display. If they are just stand alone beeping sensors then as the previous posts just be a third party product and get an independant to fit - would be a third of the price.
  22. Hello but I think you mean Fluff ;)
  23. May be possible to copy the OS disc to the HDD and run install from there. I guess the problem is once the first part of the OS loads when installing there isn't a USB driver for it to access the CD drive? If you get really stuck I may be able to get hold of a recovery CD. Both my wife and myself worked for Toshiba Informations Systems UK in the past.
