  1. I would think any kit can do what you want it's just finding an installer who knows how to do it. They won't just plug straight in and away you go.
  2. Thought the battery was already replaced? Yes the clock on the RX is sensitive to low battery voltage so will reset when you start the engine if the battery is on the way out or run down.
  3. series I is restricted to 112mph in all countries. Series II has a higher top speed, don't know if this is restricted or it's maximum speed.
  4. Possibly blown an ECU or two. You really shouldn't jump start modern cars or a least know the procedure to minimise the risk. Does the engine run? Please list what does and doesn't work so we can see if it is a fuse or not. Radio, wipers, lights, indicators, mirrors, sunroof, dome lights, horn etc etc.
  5. Won't happen because of the engine layout etc. but the 400h will be out in 6 months.
  6. Does look good. The only problem with the location in the IS is it really isn't designed to be touched - it's too far away from the driver.
  7. How have you got your 300 to 240bhp as they are only 218 standard in this country? Engine will have no problems with 300bhp as standard. The block can take 1000bhp but you need to do quite a bit of other work to get that. Not sure what the gearbox can take. People are running a 300 box over 300bhp without problems but the GS400 had a modified box and the GS430 modified further still - may just be Toyota wanting to maintain the same level of over engineering rather than the box actually needing to be uprated.
  8. Shame if you just brought an SE with the Nav option. That has instantly wiped £2500 of the resale value of the vehicle.
  9. The need to get out of a car is probably why you cannot set auto locking on UK vehicles although I think we are getting to a stage in this country where the chances of being car jacked are now higher than the need to be able to get out of the car quickly. I do believe that if the airbags are deployed the doors will unlock along with the engine being turned off.
  10. Audi/VW are also unreliable, selling cars on reputation that is 10 years out of date.
  11. Do you have a volt meter? See what the voltage of the battery goes down to whilst starting the engine.
  12. Idiots is a bit strong. Plenty of other reviews also find the ride quality to be very poor for a car costing as much as it does. I will admit I wasn't impressed either when I test drove one. Something clearly isn't right for them to have made 3 'improvements' in ride since the car was launched.
  13. Whatcar? site I find gives more accurate prices. http://www.whatcar.co.uk/Valuations_Result...535&miles=20000 Also that Parkers price is for 30k miles so you need to make the correct adjustments.
  14. Yes I get 15-17mpg on a full tank of just small 3 mile journeys in traffic all when the engine is cold. On motorway runs I normally get 26+ and have achieved 31mpg on one 250 mile trip (that one was using optimax)
  15. It's the series I that has the range problem. Series II as you say will work at quite a distance.
  16. When I brought my RX the dealer said they could beat any loan figure including a mortage so you should be able to get into the 5% if you try hard enough.
  17. You could try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes so the gearbox clears it's settings. Gearbox fluid change may also help.
  18. Not sure what you dad is doing but I've done a 450 miles trip to liverpool and back and got 29mpg. Worst I have ever got is 15mpg and that was a complete tank of 3 mile journeys starting from cold each way. I'd like to see your brothers IS, never knew there was an IS300 sport.
  19. Gold membership is £25 pa. http://www.goldmembers.co.uk/
  20. Probably not as the actual cars are different widths, although not much in it, and the boot design is also different.
  21. My light comes on with about 12-15 litres left. Has it just started doing this?
  22. Still has poor ride, like the car it's based on the GS http://cars.msn.co.uk/Carreviewshome/FDLexusSC430Jan05/
  23. All Lexus are re-badged Toyotas, Lexus is just marketing not a manufacturer.
