  1. Nice one Claire. Are the pads squeaking all the time or only when braking? If only when braking then the pads probably just need to be removed and copper grease applied to them. Shaking when braking may be the discs although I would check tyre pressures, get the wheels fully aligned and the wheel nuts tightened to the correct torque first.
  2. On a serious note, if you use an extension cord try to get a fourway then you can all 4 kettles going and have a nice little tea party! sorry A kettle uses about 8amps so any more than one will blow the fuse on an extension lead :o
  3. The IS will be a bit worse than your Celica on fuel.
  4. I don't think you will find a GS300 as quick as the Senator as it is heavier.
  5. The TTE 10" wheel is available in +40 and +45 offset. You would need to check both wheels are the same. Not sure what offset the Lexus ones are?
  6. They would go on. Not sure if the offset is correct and would probably need different profile tyres.
  7. TTE 10" rears. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...6&category=9886
  8. How many IS200s have you seen lying around in scrap yards?
  9. The problem with cars not meeting the 10,000 mile interval is they are normally still used every day just with short journeys. There is still nearly the same amount of engine wear so the oil and filter need to be changed. Also if you only do 5,000 miles a year and you just at it serviced every 10,000 the coolant/brake fuild wouldn't be changed for 6 years, twice the recommened interval.
  10. They do look like they are. They will have LEXUS stamped on the inside rim if they are. I'm after some of those and I have centre caps :)
  11. They look real. I think the suppliers have changed the design over the years.
  12. Things need to be checked/changed due to age as well as mileage. If your car has missed a service interval you cannot say it has full service history and missing an interval will invalidate any warranty you may have.
  13. Lexus have already gone on record stating they will use a diesel but they didn't feel the current 4 cylinder units fit the Lexus image. Much cheaper to use somebody's unit than design a new one for what would be low volumes as they would only be used in Europe. A bit like the Supra gearbox. Why design one, or get AISIN to, for such small numbers, easier to get Getrag to adapt one of their designs.
  14. There should be a 10A 'Dome' fuse in the engine bay for the courtesy light / iginition switch light.
  15. Sounds like you have the 10" rear wheel option. If you want them all the same size there would be members here who will swap them for their 8" wheels ;)
  16. Most people don't but their Lexus at all. Comanies buy them and at the moment the IS200 is not a good choice due to it's emissions/running costs
  17. Hi Paul, What age is the car? I guess it's a series I with those rear tyres.
  18. Yes they changed it because the old alarm is not Thatcham approved. The new system is a separate unit.
  19. I get mine done at my local Lexus dealer. MOT is a standard price so doesn't cost anymore and they do it on-site.
  20. Steve if you find the remote won't unlock the car try holding down the unlock button for 30 seconds at a time whilst next to the car. The remote will go through the rolling code sequence until the correct code is replayed. This happens on the Toyota 5000 alarm if you press the button a few times without the car knowing - not sure what type of alarm you have.
