  1. Short journeys really do eat the fuel. I do about 13 - 16 mpg on 2 miles journeys. Can get up to 30 mpg on longer runs though.
  2. There have been a few little problems with the new Corolla and Avensis. All sorted out now I think. They are both much nicer inside than the older models - a big step forward.

  4. Compared to other cars in its class practicallity does suffer. Boot space is limited due to the hinges and there isn't much rear leg room. I guess running costs are high due to fuel. Now if there was a diesel option...
  5. You need a test drive. Some boxes are worse than others, some drivers notice it more than others.
  6. Not apple didn't invent Windows I think it was Xerox and it was many years before apple came along. MSDOS has parts from UNIX and CPM. More like UNIX than CPM
  7. It clunky, it's the way it's made. Design flaw - probably not. Box is made to a cost and an acceptable level of performance. Toyota decided to use the gearbox, they must have tested it before buying. My Supra gearbox was much much worse on a car costing twice as much as the IS200. Design issues don't have to be fixed by a manufacturer, a fault has to be fixed if within the warranty period.
  8. That is the one that most people have been talking about in the last few weeks. Not sure if anybody has one fitted yet but yes it should do the job very well. It cannot be directly connected to the cars power supply as it needs something like a 9V supply so you will need some kind of voltage regulator.
  9. If the servicing has been at the correct 10,000 mile intervals then a 130,000 mile service is only a minor one and should only cost £150 max. unless there is extra work that needs doing (e.g. brake pads etc.)
  10. Have a look here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...ex_v2&id=41&c=5 At that mileage take a good look at the suspension/shocks/wheel bearings and any oil leaks from the engine/gearbox/diff
  11. Well RGB is not an encoded signal so it's neither PAL or NTSC. However the screen only seems to sync at NTSC frequencies so you would normally convert an NTSC signal into RGB to drive the screen. You will probably find a PAL 60 signal will convert and sync correctly.

  13. A set of front sport scuffs went for £67 on ebay the other day. Illuminated scuffs are about £220!
  14. I would take off the convertor and see if the speedo is still showing under in Km/h. This will tell you if the problem is the speedo or the convertor. You cannot calibrate the speedos. They are electronic and sealed. The only thing you can do is modify the speed signal going to it (which is what the convertor is doing.)
  15. Yes but who is going to check? MOT will just check they are aligned correctly. An SVA would pick it up though so watch out if you are importing.

  17. Wonder what the sample numbers were. Not many Mazda 6 or S2000 are sold.

  20. interval is every 100,000 miles (160,000km) in europe. every 90,000 miles in the US
  21. no, just sound like it could be that. Make sure they are not split.
