  4. I am always over the moon for anyone who gets a bargain, good luck to them, it was just a joke and if it hurt you that deeply then I am truly sorry. Mike
  5. I'm not why would I make such a post if it wasn't true. I'll give you the guys number if you need proof Don't get upset I only said it as a joke or a maybe, didn't mean any dishonesty on your part but at my age I have been told so many stories over the years you become very cynical, it will happen to you one day. Mike

  7. Well it just goes to show that those bargains are out there you just need to find them and have a lot of luck on your side as well. Mind you he could just be winding us up, the previous member that is not the messenger. Mike
  8. I had a MKI Capri 3.0GT which really was dire on ice and snow - twice resulting in my having to sleep in the car due an inability to climb hills. Still loved it to bits though! I had a lovely red GT 2litre Capri 3 months old at the time and it was dreadful in any sort of damp weather but like you I loved it to bits and so did the girls. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Heady days. Mike
  9. Impressive. That's why you're a sir and I'm just a carpenter! Im just plain old Jonathan. I registered on the forum on 2008 (never been on one before) as Sir Johns Lexus because my LS was first owned by Sir John Harvey Jones. I didnt think Sir John was going to come up on my posts. I just put Sir Johns Lexus because I couldnt think of anything else to put and It used to be his Lexus. Its just coincidence that my name of jonathan. And your not "just a carpenter" your a carpenter and a bloody good one too ill bet. Sir Harvey Jones, why cant we get men like that to run this pitiful country? Mike
  10. My MK4 LS was OK with all year round Falken on each corner and although I bring my speed right down and think and drive 10 times further ahead she was great, even getting me out of a soft verge which I went down being a gentleman and getting over to far for a young lady who had no idea. Once I got used to using the snow button and how it worked she was great. Mike
  11. There is a thread on here that goes into great detail on how to do this and it was only recently, the last couple of weeks, I'll see if I can locate it. Mike
  12. Anyone who has one already fitted can recommend by way of saying go for this or that that's the idea of forums. Mike
  13. I think I have seen the same video and I wasn't sure if it was. Although many poor souls lost their lives it always makes me wonder at the immense force mother nature can conjure up.
  14. Pound for pound thats what it works out at at lpg at 74 p a litre Actual mpg on lpg if the trip says average 24mpg I get 22mpg on my weekly commute on a long journey, say Wales or Germany the trip normally says 28 mpg actual is 26 @ 80mph. If I drive distance for work I always leave plenty of time & get 30 mpg on gas. Or money wise I get between 220 & 300 miles from £40. 220 with a lot of town work 300 if I really try. The lpg system is a brc plug & drive full sequential with its own ecu that constantly monitors & adjusts the mixture. The injectors are 25kw & the nozzles have been fitted directly next to the petrol one's. Not in the plenum( common practice as it is easier but which is further away from the combustion chambers so reduces efficiency of the system) It was the best system for the car at the time & fitted by a top installers, Hence I have not had a single blip with it in 60,000 miles. I done my research before having it installed & left the car with them for a week to do the install ( Was also present for the inital set up 3 hours of driving at different speeds to tweak the initial map settings to follow the curve of the petrol map) The installers were very happy to have a customer who was interested & informed on lpg rather than the usual do it as cheap and as quick as you can normal client. rather than the usual do it as cheap and as quick as you can normal client. I have gone the cheapest and the quickest on my last 3 cars and all have performed without a single blip from the day they were installed at Profess Gas in South Wales £1400 incl VAT and a full tank of LPG to have the LS converted and done in a day and I know of many others of their customers who experience exactly the same. So nothing wrong with going in that direction. I am currently paying 68p. I am really not sure why some of these companies want the cars for so long. If you add up what they are actually doing to the car two qualified engineers should do a car easily in a day. I used to use a company that wanted the car for a week and charged X2+ for doing it but it was one engineer they had doing the job and he could be working on many cars at once which is just stupidity. All it does is ensure that engineer has work all the time but at your expense. Mike
  15. Ah I thought you were using the gas word as an Americanism, I am with you all the way on LPG never been without it in 16 years. Mike
  16. You must get the news earlier than us down here as I only heard about it on the news yesterday. Not to worry I'll get you next time. Mike
  17. Exactly what happened to the wife, I still let her think its her fault though. Mike
