  1. Seemed to have to press hard for it to go anywhere. This is a question I have been meaning to ask, is it normal? sometimes of your not thinking you put your foot down a bit to hard the passengers can dissapear out of the back window. Mike
  2. Now now people. I wont be getting rid of my beautiful Lexie in the foreseeable future. If there had of been a problem with the battery it would have shown itself again by now. So I am happy to leave it and to see if it should happen again. My local is going to disconect the battery tomorrow and reinstall it just in case there was a terminal problem and check the battery to see if any of the cells are down, He has already checked the charging rate and there is no problem there. I will keep my fingers crossed. Mike
  3. No all doors were shut, but thanks for the idea. Mike Just to keep you up to date. Started without any probs. Really weird. Mike
  4. I think its gone. Will we get to know who has that real beauty? Mike
  5. Started with no problems, not even the slightest sign that the battery could be down on a full charge. We will have to see over a period of time. Thanks for your responses. Mike
  6. No guys nothing was left on, RAC checked the charging underload and everything was OK there. I only drove 10 miles today and stopped several times and started without any problem and I know that wont put a full charge in but we will see if its flat in the morning. I have just been out to the car to see if everything off. Mike
  7. Hi. 1998 LS 400 new battery supplied November 2010 and fitted by Lexus Reading, as flat as a pancake this morning. RAC got her going checked she was charging OK and then I went to Lexus Reading. Not to helpful. More or less called me a liar as they said it couldnt have been done by them as it wasnt on their computer. After several phone calls home me wife found the document and gave them the number on it. They found it finally but said they never fitted it as it was a Parts sale only. I told them that if they cared to check on here several people had been quoted £65 for supplying and fitting a new battery by various Lexus dealers on various locations and thats what Lexus did on mine here in Reading. Wouldnt do anything today so its booked in for Thursday 10am thats if it starts. I received such fantastic service the last time I went but the chap that served me then wasnt there today. Any ideas why the battery was flat. Last time she was driven was Fri afternoon. Nothing left on. Mike
  8. This has to be the bargain of the year for the money. Mike http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/lexus-ls-400-40-auto-only-70000-miles-from-new-lovely-looking-car-with-full-service-history/90752043
  9. Welcome to the wonderful world that is Lexus. If its not a Lexus its just a car. I cant tell what colour yours is but the interior is exactly the same as my 98 LS400 in green Enjoy Mike.
  10. Hi Mike the LS has hardened valve seats the gs 300s don't. Flashlube isn't needed on the LS but a lot of installers fit them as a matter of course. Cheers for that Mike. Regards Mike
  11. I have never had a flashlube kit fitted to any of my cars as I always understood that you would only need to worry about burning valves out with prolonged high speed motoring. I havent ever had a valve problem. Mike
  12. Failing that I may press my fitter and/or Mint LPG to uninstall the kit and give me a refund The only way to go. Profess gas in southwales. Mike PS Ring Profess tell them which system has been fitted and the problem you have and lets see what they say.
  13. My local garage is 72p but each time you go you have a loyalty card which is stamped and you get 1p graduating to 10p off per litre each visit and when you have finished the card you start all over again. I have two of them and use one for building up to 5p on mainly small fillups then for 70litre+ plus use the card with the largest discount, today I had £6.20 in discount. Mike
  14. There is no need to take it in such an over the top way. Your criticisim which read as the problem was completly across the board as far as LPG installer were concerned was unfair. I agree that there are some bad ones out there but there are also some bloody good ones. How long have you driven on LPG for and what were the problems you have faced? Mike
  15. with Thats very unfair tarring every LPG installer with the same brush. There is good and bad in everything. Two members have had a positive experience with their chosen installers in my case on more than one occasion, they should not just be rubbished along with the rest of the cowboys that are out there. Mike What I have said doesn't make my opinion unfair. It is my experience with LPG installers. The one's being "tarred" are the numerous ones I have contacted. I am aware that there are good and bad in everything but the installers I had contacted had all differing opinions on what was needed. Each installers opinions of the advice I was given from the others was very negative indeed. I feel your response to my opinion on this is far more unfair. I have said what I needed to say so lets keep this on topic. I have said what I needed to say so lets keep this on topic. You cant pop this sentence in so I cant reply. But I will. There was nothing unfair in posting my reply to your what amounted to rubbishing the LPG industry. I have run LPG cars for myself and my wife for over 15 years having had all of 7 of them fitted with LPG by just two companies Dualfuel Woking and Profess in South Wales and all of them have given trouble free motoring from the very start with not one of them having to go back because they had a problem. Your straight across the board statement what can and obviously will go wrong is the unfair part. Go to a professional LPG supplier and you wont have any problems. I am sorry you have had such a bad experience with LPG conversions but if you choose the correct one the smile on your face will be twice the size as not only are you driving one of the best cars on the road but its costing peanuts to do it. Mike

  17. Can your friend in Sunny Florida not buy them and then ship them to you? Mike
  18. How long after you have paid to join the gold membership should expect to wait even just for an acknowledgment of receipt of money? Mike
  19. Profess have done my cars and never ever had a problem. Done in a day they lend you a car for the day for a nice lazy day out come back at 5pm all done, just pay up and go. Mike 1998 LS400 Profess
  20. The spare wheel does not have to come into the MOT. There is no legal requirement to have a spare wheel. Mike Mike, no-one is saying that the spare wheel is tested. Just commenting that swapping a 'good' spare onto the corner where the 'advised' tyre is would remove the advisory. I only mentioned it as some people are not aware of this. Wont bother again Mike
