  1. Are we still talking about this one. My link because if we are I would still get the DVLA check on the mileage as that steering wheels is far to badly worn for the amount of miles stated. My link Mike
  2. I would get the mileage checked out on the DVLA site as the steering wheel looks well worn for the mileage stated. Mike
  3. If you are thinking of this car from these people take my advice and go and see the car drive it and make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb. Mike PS Would love to know what it went through the Blackbushe Car Auctions for.
  4. Hi, Can anybody recommend a mobile body repair company that can sort a small dent in my drivers door. Reading Basingstoke area. Many thanks Mike
  5. Be fair guys he does admit he's had a few tonight, lets just hope thats not when he thinks the car is running only on 4 cylinders. Mike
  6. They were talking about doing similar things when I had my first car converted 16 years ago. It hasn't happened yet. The problem the government have if they do that they will shoot themselves in the foot regarding all the green propaganda they manage to throw at us by the ton amd most of it lies. Mike.
  7. The most important things to check when buying an LPG car is to make sure they have a proper invoice to cover the installation and make a note of who did the installation and check them out on the INTERNET, find out from your insurance company how old can the certification be and also will they cover you for an LPG car, some wont touch them. Check for any smell of gas at all and if you can smell it walk away. No matter what excuse they come up with keep walking. If you get past that and you get to drive the car check to see that the change over from LPG to gas is seamless and that there is no difference in performance, also keep smelling for gas, if you can smell it stop the car and get out as you are driving a bomb. If the drive goes well check the installation out from the tank to the engine bay and see if you feel comfortable with what you see. I am sorry to be such a doom and gloom merchant but I cant express strongly enough how important all these points are for your enjoyment of luxury motoring at escort MPG and your safety. Mike
  8. I think if you are patient a better one will come along. All sorts of issues with who owns the car which differs from the person who is selling. After watching WATCHDOG last week these days people are borrowing against their cars (Log book Loans) and these are not high value cars so yet another thing to be careful of. It never stops these days. The oil leak as the previous person has said is a big worry. I would definitely go and see the car and drive it before placing a bid. I always thinks that good quality genuine adverts for any cars go into good detail about what they are selling together with good quality pictures and this person does neither. Good luck Mike
  9. I have used LPG for the last 16 years with all mine and my wifes cars and all the cars I have ever gone to see with LPG already installed have had big problems. Most LPG installers will not fix other installers problems so your left with having to install another LPG system. You will need fairly new Safety Certification for your insurance company as they will ask for it and check if your present insurance company will accept a converted petrol car some wont go near them. My Mk IV averages around 32/33 m/way and around town about 24ish Good luck Mike
  10. Hi, I would bet good money that been to the moon and back at least twice. Leave it well alone. Mike
  11. I put my spare wheel into a nice cover the LPG installers gave me and just leave it in the boot. Never been short of space. Mike
  12. They do have a 100% feedback if its the ones in the link above so they may well give you a refund they must know what rubbish they are selling. Sometimes the cheapest route is the most exspensive route a lesson to all of us. Mike
  13. I have used LPG for the last 16 years with all mine and my wifes cars and all the cars I have ever gone to see with LPG already installed have had big problems. My advice unless you can get a cheap ticket up there to see the car leave it and find another. Most LPG installers will not fix other installers problems so your left with having to install another LPG system. Has he got a fairly new Safety Certification for it your insurance company will ask for it and check if your present insurance company will accept a converted petrol car some wont go near them. If his MPG figures are correct there is a big problem. My Mk IV averages around 32/33 m/way and around town about 24ish Sorry to be the prophet of doom but its better to get these things sorted at this point. Good luck Mike
  14. Many thanks. Brought them Mike Where did you bring them from? ;)
  15. Can anyone tell me where to get the fittings that go through the overmats to stop them from moving. Many thanks. Mike
  16. Apparently this does not make it too loud just sound a bit nicer according to other forums ;) Andy "Sounds a bit nicer"! Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sounds nice to me. But im an old fogie and load noises make me grumpy. Now where did i put those Werthers Originals? To save all that work just go a buy an old banger theres no point having the quietest and smoothest car on the road if all you want to do is be heard in the next county. But then as my son always tells me I'm just an old fogie. How about a set of twin tone alpine horns as well. Mike
  17. Recently saw an article on 5th Gear about fuel additives meant to give you more MPG when actually all they did was at best nothing and at worse increased your fuel consumption. There sadly no magic answer apart from LPG conversion which are guaranteed to cut your day to day fuel costs. Mike
  18. Cant see why all manufacturer's dont use the Chip???????? if it works, but I doubt it. Mike
  19. I let my two Collies travel in mine with no tears. I cover the back seat well with blankets and they just go to sleep. Mike
  20. The big problem is you can never sell them. This car has been up for sale for months. I never understand how they can pass an MOT with wheels and tyres rubing against the body work. I prefer them left as standard. Altough there was one on here recently in Silver/Grey which was really smart and tasteful. Mike
