  1. WOW !!! I like an optimist but thats a step to far. May be he didn't mean to put the 5 on the end of the price. Mike
  2. yet another snake oil product ! don't waste your money think about it.... if £15 gave such an improvement every car would come from the factory with them fitted !! Mike
  3. They have had it up for sale for months, I'm sure it started out nearer to £5K. Mike
  4. Hi Nick no road tax reduction for cars registered before 2001, But congestion charge free if registered as duel fuel with dvla ( certificate comes with conversion if done buy quallified installer which you send to dvla with log reg doc) London Congestion Charge The very cleanest alternative fuel vehicles have been granted 100% discount from the £10 per day London congestion charge, providing they register before 24th December 2010. This discount will apply for two years as the scheme has been replaced by the Green Vehicle Discount. To be eligible, a vehicle and the specific conversion (make of conversion equipment) must have undergone government approved tests to demonstrate an improvement in Euro IV emission results. Such vehicles are then eligible to be included in the Energy Saving Trust Powershift Register. The Register also includes the installers who are approved to fit that specific conversion. If your car makes the grade, you need to register with Transport for London, www.tfl.gov.uk and pay an annual £10 fee to receive the discount. If you enter the zone most days, this move could save you up to £1600 per annum. Converted cars with appropriate documentation (e.g. LPGA conversion certificate are accepted as an Alternative Fuel Car and on submitting the documentation to the DVLA will be eligible for a standard reduction on VED. Trouble with all these schemes that our wonderful politicians spout on about is they dont tell you the full story and the goal posts are moved as you are filling out the form. I am happy with the amount I pay at the pump over the price of petrol. Mike
  5. I always understood that unless the LPG conversion was done at the point of manufacture there was no discount on Road Tax and this goes for the London Congestion Charge as well. Cant tell you what price is as mine is registered Disabled and is therefore free but my other two cars V6 2-4litre Mondeo and 4 Litre Grand cherokee both pay the same amount even though both are registered LPG. Mike
  6. Hi Nick I have an Mk4 LS400 98 with the Sat Nav and I had it converted by Profess down in South Wales. I had an Toridal Tank fitted in the spare wheel well and I can get 74 litres of LPG in so it gives you a fair range and you smile all the way. There is still plenty of boot space even with the spare wheel in there. Sat Nav works but its comes in short of many modern Sat Navs that have so many other features that it makes the in car Sat Nav just a little stoneage it just depends how much info you want from your Sat Nav. It does work. I havent heard of anyone who has used any updates to the in car Sat Nav and I believe that Lexus sell one for around £250 to £300. After this CD based system they updated the in car system to a DVD based unit and they will not work on a Mk 4. Hope this is of help. Regards Mike
  7. Welcome aboard luxuary motoring at Bargain Basement Prices. Dont smile to much at the pumps, other motorists may take offence. Mike.
  8. and the prices seem to range from $3.9K to $6.9K. May I ask why the huge price difference? Purely an open and free market. Sellers are all going to try and get as much as they can for their car and if its the UK or the USA prices asked will fluctuate widely. What they get for the car is a totally different thing all together. Mike
  9. I can fill my Toridaltank with 74 litres of LPG also have 3/4 tank of petrol and not forgetting the spare wheel and mine dosent show any warning lights. How is the smell of gas? Mike
  10. There should be no warning lights on other than the normal ones you had before, There should be no extra noise. There is no pump the system works under pressure. The journey to work is probobly not long enough to get the engine up to working temp for the gas to cut in and you will therefore run on petrol thus not saving a great deal. I have run on LPG for the last 16 years but living in the middle of no where means mine cuts in in about 3 mins. It also depends on the outside temp. Always takes longer to cut in in the winter. It takes 74 liters to fill mine and that takes about 3 to 4 mins. PLEASE TAKE THAT CAR BACK THOUGH BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS. Mike PS How did you pay for the installation ??
  11. Take it straight back you are driving a bomb. You should never smell gas apart from when releasing the nozzle when filling. If you dont take it back you can forget the other problems as they will sort themselves out easily once its exploded. Mike
  12. Mine fitted exactly the same as shown in the picture i.e lift the tab - slide wiper over the hook and clip the tab back - very simple and stright forward to fit. Once again I live down to my expectations. Will fit first thing in the motor. In my defense I didnt notice the fitting diagram in the ad. Mike
  13. No. Its more likely me being stupid again. Iam just waiting for someone to clarify that I am correct. Stupid that is. Mike
  14. Are the ones you ordered on e-bay 'LEXUS LS400 LS430 95-04 Flat AERO WIPERS Blades 24 16' from Raceparts (£4.99 a pair plus postage)? I have just brought those and I completely flumaxed as to how the new one fits on. I can get the old one off by lifting up the clip and taking it off of the wiper arm but cant see how you fit the new one as it looks as though it will come off because there is no clip to hold the wiper blade on. I used the same type on my Jeep and they are great. Mike feeling a bit stupid.
  15. Sorry to hear you have had troubles with your new LPG system. There is only one solution and that is to take it back to where the LPG was fitted. The big problem now with letting other people fiddle arounded with it is that whatever the problem is it wasnt there before and they then start to mess around with things that they would normally head for on a petrol engine and pushing and burying the real problem even deeper Take it back to them and be firm but friendly. Good luck Mike The other thing you might like to keep in mind is that if you let someone else tinker with it the people that installed the LPG will say well you have breached the warranty by allowing someone else to try and sort it and refuse to do anything about it. Regards Mike.

  21. You wont be disappointed with the MeisterR coilovers :) I fitted them myself along with all new front lower suspension bushes and lower ball joints. Not too difficult, you need too remove the rear seats and I would recommend unbolting the front lower ball joints from the hubs to ease access.
