My Insurance co. stated that the Styling Kit + Alloys WAS a modification as there is no specific model in the range - it is an add on. Still, at £330 a year in total, who's complaining...

Much as I am impressed by everyones obsession with car mods., whats the best 'not for your car' Lexus related accessory you have. Surely no-one can beat my brand new Lexus Showroom Welcome Mat (about 1.8m x 1.2m) which is affixed pride of place on my garage wall !! Sad, but true....

Again. you guys down south have it easy, avoid all trips north. We can fingerprint/DNA/photograph and take other biological samples (?) when detained without the need to charge or arrest. You are right though, in the event of being found not guilty, these must be destroyed. If they are not destroyed and were used at a future criminal trial, say the use of hairspray on your no. plate to deliberately avoid prosecution and attempting to pervert the course of justice, the evidence would be inadmissable. :winky:

Aha, Scots Law doesnt let you away with that. Trial by Jury only in solemn proceedings here. A Justice of the Peace would almost certainly find you guilty (up here anyway), they are strict/no nonsense. Keep hairspray away from your number plates when heading north........... Personally, drive safer and avoid the hassle...

Sorry Mr M, Scarface is right, the charge (certainly in Scotland) is attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice. The key word is 'ATTEMPTING'. Whether or not you're ever found guilty of it is another thing. I would suggest that it is the sort of charge dropped in favour of another, i.e. a deal prior to trial. Attempting to Pervert is a Common Law crime and its sentence depends on the court it is served in. The lowest court in Scotland, the District Court, can sentence you to up to 3 months jail and £3000 fine, if memory serves me right. You'd really need to p*** off the Justice to get that !!
