  1. Gimme a second, I'll get back to you. Useless with computers etc.
  2. Got myself a pair of those white quad LED sidelights and think they're great!! All for the princely sum of about £6 - amazing value Trying to find amber ones for the front indicators. Is there such a thing??
  3. Many parts on the car will be dated, and the majority of vehicles are assembled within 6 months of the part date. Unfortunately, Japanese cars are poorly dated, unless its a new one.
  4. I have lost the plot reading these threads. Too many makes/polishes/waxes, carnuba this , NXT that. I currently use Meguiars NXT or the one in the purple bottle. Should I maybe buy a polisher too? Dont want to spend that much on one. I take it the Halfords one is no use. Should I look for one with a specific voltage/ revs per min type? Advice please Thanks
  5. 217 for me Friday? Then I'll get the springs??
  6. Hey, looks very good, dont listen to any neg. comments - no-one will notice the 'pitting'
  7. Hardly any here, and thats the way I like it. Other than mine, I have never seen another IS300 on the road, ever .....!
  8. Or alternatively, phone Ian @ Lexus Edinburgh and he'll fly you up to conclude the deal!!
  9. I fancy a pair of those to go with my HID's please tell me what I ask for when I call Ultraleds and how much do they cost? Don't want to sound like an idiot when I phone
  10. I had a 530d for a bit - and was remarkably underimpressed. The MKII GS is a nicer car in my opinion. The only thing the 530d had going for it was that it was rapid. The handling was just off - I dont know if my expectations were too high, but you hear things like the 5 series being one of the best handling cars - and it wasn't. The GS is not the greatest handling car in the world - but then, no-one evers says it is. ← :) I drove the BMW 3.0 diesel sport and A6 3.0 diesel back to back with the GS300se, IMO the GS was best by far, quiet and refined much more for your money, and as fast if not faster than the others, so I bought one, comes on thursday. My mate has covered 2900Miles in his 5 series diesel 3.0sport cost him with extras ( up to GS standard) £43700.00, and economy is 28MPG. whats that, it's crap, and he regrets buying it. :P ← Sorry, IMO there is no such thing as a diesel and a sport - you cant have your cake and eat it!! I hate diesels. Fuel economy is for VW Bora drivers....... :tsktsk:
  11. VW???? Where did that come from ???? What luxury prestige high performance Sports motor car have they ever given us?? I hate VW........
  12. I have always wondered what Sport actually means. The new 430 had a subtle spoiler, 18 wheels, sports mode suspension. No it didnt have a whaletail spoiler or twin 6 inch exhausts protruding out the back, but if I wanted that, I'd buy a Subaru. No thanks. Lexus doesnt have an equivalent M, RS or R series, but then again thats not the market its aiming for. Nor is it priced anywhere near those markets. I asked the Pro Driver what he preferred - the GS430 or the 5 series. For everyday use, the GS, for a track day the 5. Its good to be different, thats why we all chose the IS. I do agree though that the GS in basic form can be a little old-mannish. For individuality look at the GS and test drive a 430 if you can. Then go back to a 5 series or A6 and tell me you werent impressed. I used to drive the new 5 series at work and it was as dull as dishwater. Besides what other manufacturer would take you on a day out to Mar Hall? Ian - does this qualify me for a job?? :winky:
  13. Black, with chrome stickers......
  14. I got 400 miles from a tankful, in my IS300 I have no idea if this is good or not......
  15. Thanks to Lexus GB for a great day out yesterday at Mar Hall, Bishopton, nr Glasgow. The fantastic surroundings provided an excellent backdrop to a half days events including unaccompanied test drive of the new GS300, which lasted 25 miles and an unaccompanied test drive of the new GS430, which lasted about 12 miles. Both cars were fantastic. The 430 was especially quick, and smooth, not to mention almost whisper quiet. I think the attention to detail is unsurpassed in this area of the market. The build quality is again, unbeatable compared to the German equivalent. A professional demonstration of the new driving features of the GS was also given and their new anti-skid/spin system, a world first, is remarkable. The car actually independantly steers itself, to correct a possible spin! Its even more obvious when you get the demo in the 5 series to compare. After all that, a good range of food was on offer as well as use of the spa area. You also got a wee bag of goodies when you leave. I really do wonder why anyone who has this amount of money to spend on a car in this range, would buy anything other than the GS. Whilst the 5 series is a stunningly agressive looking car on the exterior, the interior is cheap, dark and plasticky. The Audi, is hugely overpriced, and lets face it, everyone has one. The Jaguar is nice, but its finish and build quality is poor in comparison. If this is what the GS is like, we should all look forward to the new IS.
  16. Looks great, the Kit makes it look meaner I think must've cost you a fortune !!
  17. Sack the new guy - he seems more bother than he's worth :D
  18. Having received my invite, I am attending the GS launch day on Sunday 24 April at Mar Hall, Bishopton, nr Glasgow. Mar Hall is exceptionally posh, so much so, that Kylie stayed there when she recently played at the SECC. Its a few hours of test drives in both models accompanied and unaccompanied, with light refreshments, whilst the other half gets discount at the Spa Club. Not bad day out I would suggest Is anyone else going?
  19. When I had my IS200, each time I depressed the clutch I felt a click through the pedal. After months of trying to suss it out, I found that at the top of the pedal, under the steering wheel area, there was a loose 'connection' where you could adjust the travel on the pedal. I managed to resecure it and it was like new
  20. Sorry, no-can-do...... because I would therefore not be getting 'something for nothing', which deviates from the whole point of this !! Surely the fact you have helped out another LOC memeber will suffice
  21. I have never seen cops on the phone, if so, then yes they equally commit the offence. The days of being on the radio and driving are gone as cars are now fitted with a button on the steering column to activate the radio remotely. On the issue of mobile phone use. The reason the new law was brought in, in relation to phones, is that the original offence of careless driving/not being in proper control was difficult to prove with the onus on the prosecution to prove carelessness etc. Now, that is no longer the case. What annoys me is people, generally women it has to be said, that SMOKE whilst driving. This is even worse than making a call, especially if you drop the ciggie, whilst going round a roundabout etc etc.
  22. Steve received, thanks The note says there are 3 stickers incase one makes a complete ar** of it first time around I only got two - is that right Cheers
  23. Hey, I'm in no rush !!! I must mark this point down in history - something for nothing - us northerners love that sort of thing It must be costing them an absolute fortune!
