New Style 2013 Is250

Laptop batteries fail if you keep the plug in all day. Itll be a good 20 years before the batteries go if used properly. Besides, the argument of batteries is the same as a cars engine, cars lose bhp over time so the engine will be limping around more dead weight will it not? -

Theres only been 1 incidence in the UK of ANY battery being replaced on a Lexus vehicle. -
There was a 61 plate Black LFA with beige seats and red carpets on Autotrader for £280k + VAT a few weeks back.Only had 300 miles on it as well. EDIT - Oh BTW its still here! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201309309029111/sort/pricedesc/usedcars/radius/1500/postcode/wf177rs/quicksearch/true/page/1/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/lexus?logcode=p Listed as an LX because theres no slot for an LFA!

Overly Firm Ride And Seats
rayaans replied to Roger Bill's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I think the OP was referring to the the brand new 2014 CT200h, which has had quite a few modifications made to the chassis and suspension to improve the ride as well as other interior/exterior modifications Cool!! No wonder!! It honestly looks rather flashy. Shame it comes with that incompetent engine! Needs the 250 in there or possibly the 200t in the future and it would definitely be forced upon my wife ha! -

I would be very surprised if you liked the Q50. It drives like a boat and the hybrid system feels slightly weird, cant really explain why but it feels alien. BTW something I noticed when testing the Q50 is that the steering is rubbish! You have to constantly keep turning it to get it to go round a corner. Sounds silly I know but it requires a lot of adjustment, rather like driving a go kart. Another thing Ive noticed about the reviews on Lexus cars is that journalists always seem to put the car down. I felt the GS450h was amazing! I would buy one, but i need the extra space because I have 3 kids but its far superior to the 5 series or the E class. -
Ive always thought of Lexus as the brand that people discover and tend to stick with for a while. Back in 2010 when I had the RX300, one of my close friends wife loved the look of it and asked if she could take a drive. I agreed and she loved it, sold her Mercedes and bought a brand new RX450h SE-L top spec within a month. She said it was much smoother than anything shes every driven and shes owned plenty of capable vehicles including the Mercedes ML that she had and my friend, her partner, has an X5 diesel and a Porsche 911. A lot of people are also very impressed with my RX F Sport after seeing it and sitting in it. I don't think most people go to the Lexus dealers when they want a new car. The first thing that usually comes into their head is BMW, Audi or Mercedes.

My RX450h is doing 24mpg at the moment. I think its to do with the Dunlop F rated tires as well as living in Yorkshire which is a really hilly area + the cold weather doesnt help. Max Ive ever got is 31.3mpg, bearing in mind I don't go much on motorways and have the car in normal mode most of the time with plenty of sport mode when im in the mood.

Overly Firm Ride And Seats
rayaans replied to Roger Bill's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
The ride wont change much, however, the car is probably running on Bridgestone RE040 tires which may have an impact on the ride quality. There isnt much you can do about the suspension however. As for the seats, I think they feel different for everyone. Personally, the seats fit me like a glove and im 6 ft 1. However, there have been a few people complaining that the seats are too small, it all does depend on the build of the person. The GS450h is awesome and does not feel cumbersome at all. Its planted and is a quality piece of kit! -

I feel that the 3rd Gen IS is an improvement in every area. Reasons being - Seat is much more comfortable and fits like a glove, reminds me of the recaro sport seats in my first car which was a mk2 Golf back in the day. Seating position is closer to the ground - Feels like you are driving a true sports sedan. The dial on the F Sport is super cool - bragging rights by itself Exterior Design - It looks awesome, predator/catfish, its completely unique on the road and you can feel people staring at it. Interior Design - Loving the dash - dash design is much better than 2nd Gen as well as the new BMW F30 3 series which is functional but dated. Intake - They've done a good job on the Intake in the 250. Gives a much throatier noise. Ride - Firm but I wouldn't call it harsh - A Porsche or BMW is what I would refer to as harsh. Positives aside, I agree with your comment about the boot. It is definitely very light but I think this is to do with the use of Aluminium to save weight. I think theres also been a little work gone in to the transmission to make it shift differently. I think another negative would be the new F Sport white paint. Using any form of silicone based tire gel stains the paint - WTF? Its got a clear coat which reacts with silicone, pretty stupid idea. -
Car Care Question For F Sport Owners

Have you checked the paint under halogens? Every car has swirls, even when brand new. Dunno how that happens though lol. If you find it convenient, you may as well keep the fiver hand wash going and get a full detail every year or something? -
Car Care Question For F Sport Owners
rayaans replied to Tafferel's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Phew thats good. I know of some people who have paid £200 for it to be put on! Itll come off in a few weeks, youll be able to tell when the water stops beading or sheeting off the car. After that, put on some sealant or a wax of choice. Meguiars #16 and collinite 476s are both very durable waxes and cost between £15-30. They last about 3 months and are highly recommended. FK1000p is a really good sealant also. Its about £22 but lasts 6 months +. It can also be used on wheels and exhausts as it is a high temperature sealant. -

Well Id say, first thing to do is remove that damn Supagard. It doesnt work and lasts for a few weeks max. You will probably also notice under bright lighting some swirl marks introduced by the dealer. Get some proper sealant like gtechniq c1. The supagard stuff literally costs like £30 off ebay, seriously not worth what they charged you, im guessing about £200? I had supagard on my last Lexus, really was not a fan of it and Im a very keen detailer! -
Did you compare the 250 and 300h? Any major difference in power and handling between the two? And the colour really suits the styling of the IS, looks very classy indeed.
-
Im loving the colour, but I think I may be biased! Its Arctic Pearl right? Wish they had it available on the F Sport, the other white is a bit flat, reminds me of all the solid white Audi's going around. Arctic pearl looks great in the summer btw! Even has a glow in the night under lighting! Is yours an IS250? if so, any reason you chose it over the 300h?

my RX only does about 27mpg. To be fair, I have the car in Sport mode alot and live in a hilly area so the engine ALWAYS kick in

Just a quick question, did they send all 4 wheels to the repairer or just the 2 that were kerbed? -
