  1. Not my car, but spotted this matte black IS200 in Antwerp
  2. I've got the Bluetooth extension for Grom and can vouch for it. The call clarity is pretty good, and on several occasions the person on the other end couldn't tell if I was in the car during the call. Mine is paired to a Nexus 4, and I can also stream audio and switch tracks using the head unit.
  3. glad you walked away from that unscathed! All the best with the new car :)
  4. mikeyv you've got PM :) and another +1 from the pro-winter tyre camp
  5. I suggest that you do a search on this forum mate, this topic has been beaten to death :)
  6. That's quite impressive actually, well done
  7. A well-preserved MK1 LS400 should be well on its way to becoming a classic; it is after all the car that tore apart the rule book held by the Germans. I think that it'll appreciate quicker in the USA though, where the Lexus marque is a lot more established than it is here. I'd also wager that the LFA would be a future classic too... but I guess that was too easy :P
  8. Either is fine I guess; in my case, I've got a separate set of wheels for my winter tyres. Makes swapping over a tad easier.
  9. Same here! Grew up in the tropics so was snow-deprived for most of my childhood! lol why aren't the seats in the car at the moment?
  10. Just looked outside the window... and it's snowing here too! The cars are almost completely covered... I wonder if it will stay like that until morning
  11. While we're talking about the Stig...er...I mean Steve... are the LFA and IS-F the only two Lexuses (Lexii?) to have lapped the TG track? Or have I missed out any?
  12. Just some comments in addition to what Chris and Pete have said: High-pitched brake squeal I'm guessing? Happens sometimes even with new pads and disks, as was the case with my car. I took it back to the garage, they took it apart, cleaned it and regreased it, and it has disappeared since. I guess you mean the steering is "tramlining" over uneven surface? I found this to be more pronounced with the default Lexus geometry setup for the IS200. After changing it over to WIM's geometry settings, it has lessened somewhat. You will definitely notice this especially after coming from an Audi, seeing that most Audis have very little (or even negative) "scrub radius" in their front suspension design. Do a search on this forum for "Wheels in Motion" or "WIM", and I would suggest having your geometry looked at by them. Of course, if I have guessed your problems wrongly, please ignore! :)
  13. Nice pics KentIS300 :) slightly off topic and just out of curiosity: do the Sportcross and saloon models share the same rear door?
  14. Here is an app that you guys may find useful. At any given instant, it tells you where the nearest fuel station is, and what the prices are. May be helpful to plan your pitstops: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatgas.android I'm sure there should be an iPhone/Blackberry/Windows phone equivalent too EDIT: turns out they do :P http://www.whatgas.com/mobi/index.html
  15. what happens in Amsterdam, stays in Amsterdam :P
  16. Hi Stuart, you should be able to manage 365 miles to a tank, unless you're really hammering it down the A-roads I recently went on a roadtrip in my IS200 (shown below), 3000 miles in total and cost me £600 in petrol, and this included a lap around the 'ring and maxing her out on the autobahn. On the whole, I was doing around 400 miles to a tank on this trip.
  17. hi noby, is your IS300 modified in any way?
  18. My summer tyres are 215/45/R17 My winter tyres are 205/55/R16 And if I remember correctly, the tyre size for the 18" aero wheels are 225/40/R18
  19. I get around 32mpg with that sort of constant speed on the motorway in my 745i, so its interesting to know that the IS-F is in that ballpark too (comparing a V8 to a V8). Sadly though, my IS200 also gives similar mpg in that condition (okay maybe 34 or 35 tops), yet it's less than half of the displacement of the IS-F and the 745i?
  20. Impressive stuff, Deemc! I'd like to know how someone does the wheel alignment on that car though... what ride height would you set the geometry around?
  21. good to know, thanks for sharing :) Actually, here's a question for ya: If someone rings you, does the phone pickup your voice via its built-in microphone or via the external bluetooth mic connected to the GROM unit? (if I remember correctly, you have the GROM bluetooth module as well?)
