  1. It may well be. Though 1-2 seconds does sound a little long to me for the combined time that it takes the LSD to tighten up and for the suspension arms to take up any deflections in the bushes. If I'm not mistaken, most moden cars don't like it if one wheel is severely under-inflated compared to the others, as it messes up with the stability control, traction control and ABS, due to the difference in wheel speed sensor readings. Did any of your warning lights appear during this incident?
  2. Hi, sorry for the late reply! Just read thru your thread and glad to hear that you've got everything sorted out now :) What bushes did you used in the end? Were they TRD ones?
  3. I find claying to be no harder than polishing or waxing your car. Just make sure you spray the lube liberally over the paintwork before rubbing the clay on, so that you don't mar the paintwork. I used Meguiars Clay Kit and was pretty happy with the results. It comes with the lube spray and full set of instructions that are easy to follow.
  4. glad that you had the issue sorted mate :)
  5. just one question... how did u go about cleaning the small nooks and crannies inside the "Lexus" and "IS200" emblems on the bootlid? I find it really hard to polish those tiny areas, and as a result was never happy with the finish :(
  6. Looks nice!! Are the indicators LED too?
  7. found this on gumtree: http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/4-centre-caps-for-lexus-is200-is300-alloy-wheels/88475039
  8. Did you get your wheel alignment re-done after the lower ball joints were replaced? I had my front lower suspension arm bushes, shocks and ball joints all replaced at one go at WIM, followed by wheel alignment. My steering self-centres without any issues.
  9. That's what I thought, but as it happens Minis have them too. My mate's 06-reg Cooper has them.
  10. I am a poor PhD student. I squeeze my brains and publish clever-looking academic journals for a living. My research includes hybrid powertrains and is tied to an automotive group located in the West Midlands.
  11. car looks immaculate, interesting number plate!
  12. wowza... how big are those wheels? and how thin are those tires!! Oh, and welcome to the club :P
  13. I believe... it's an SE Going by: ride height lack of rear tinted windows non-aluminium pedals
  14. I think you may have two separate problems here; one with the engine and the other with the ABS unit. I just had a look under the bonnet and can confirm that the IS200 uses a conventional brake servo setup. Unfortunately, I am illiterate when it comes to fault codes, so hopefully someone else may be able to fill in
  15. Yep makes perfect sense :) I was a bit wary about removing some of the trim pieces, which is why I took the easy route and mounted my microphone just at the top of the A-pillar. You could say I was a bit lazy/impatient too But that is a very neat installation you have there, well done!
  16. Looks nice! Did you have to remove any trim pieces to get the mic's wire to where it is? Might think about relocating mine. Did you route the mic wire through the side of the A-pillar trim that is closer to the windscreen or closer to the door?
  17. You may need to tap into the original headunit harness and locate the wire that indicates headlight on/off. Have a look at the IS200 service manual below: http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/IS_98-05/index.html I haven't had a look myself, but I believe the wiring diagram for the original headunit should be in there somewhere.
  18. Stunning as always, thanks for sharing!! :) Airbag on seatbelt buckle... now that's an interesting thought!
  19. Yep, I've got to launch the music player and press the play button initially on the phone. The stereo can be used to control the music player thereafter. Glad to hear that it all works well for ya mate. Is there a noticeable difference in audio quality between playing music via Bluetooth or the dock cable?
  20. Not sure if I understand exactly what you mean... is your iPhone connected via Bluetooth at the same time as your iPod is connected to the dock cable? Or do you mean the "iPod" function within the iPhone? When connected via Bluetooth, the music player on my Nokia E71 works with the controls on the stereo, no problems at all. Are you able to answer and hangup calls using the next/previous track button on the stereo?
