  1. Thanks Herbie, that's really useful. Shame it's not mentioned in the handbook!
  2. Thanks Roy. I have a draw full of handbooks and manuals. Even still have some form gadgets long since gone!
  3. Thanks Roy. Will do. Read the handbook before I took delivery! I actually love reading handbooks. Whenever we get a new gadget I always read the manual unlike my wife who uses the press a button and see what happens method and wonders why it doesn't work properly! As I'm not driving so much at the moment would you recommend running it once a week to keep it topped up and if so for how long? Not 45 mins I guess?
  4. Hi all, experienced my first problem today on my GS300h. A flat battery! Have got it started but was wondering how long I need to keep it running to fully recharge it? I believe I don't need to drive it as it's recharged via the hybrid battery. Would it change quicker if I did take it for a spin?
  5. I can also recommend Lexus hedge end. Used them for years before I moved north. Currently use Lexus Lincoln. Would be great to have a dealer page on here so we can see the best and worst. I live equidistant between Lincoln and hull so could choose either. Maybe if we name and shame the dodgy ones they may pull their socks up! Would also be good for those that are good to receive some praise.
  6. Decided on the essential service at Lexus Lincoln and received the usual excellent experience. No extras were advised. They even stamped the service book with normal stamp. The only downside during this visit was coffee in cardboard cup and no croissant or pain au chocolat. But I guess I can live with that to not get covid!
  7. I used to use Lexus hedge end until I moved to Lincolnshire a couple of years ago and now use Lexus Lincoln. Have had good experiences at both but must admit that the inner snob in me prefers not to have to share my experience with Toyota riff raff! 😉
  8. My GS300h is now six years old. It's service time and I'm thinking of going for the essential service. The cynic in me thinks the dealer will find problems to increase the price. Have others have experience of the essential service both positive and negative. Is it worth paying the extra for a normal service? Thanks.
  9. I need to book my 3014 GS300h in for a service. Am toying with going for the essential service but the cynic in me thinks they'll find something wrong to increase the cost to the normal service! What are people's thoughts about the essential service?
  10. Hi and welcome to the forum. I had an IS220 and was planning on trading it in for an IS300h but took a GS300h for a test drive and was smitten and now have one. In general I feel that the GS is a down market LS rather than an upmarket IS. The difference in quality is noticeable. I have the premier of 2014 and can't think of anything I'd replace it with. More specifically, in regards to your questions here are my thoughts. 1. It's a different beast entirely regarding quality and feel good factor. Not as 'sporty' as the IS but in real world terms not a slouch either. Definitely a more relaxing and comfortable proposition. 2. I've had extended warranty since I bought it and have never needed it but it's a great peace of mind. Like any insurance you hope you never need to use it. But if something did go wrong it would be well worth it. I have 28 way adjustable front seats. If they were to pack up I'd hate to think of the cost! 3. No real known issues except maybe the shocks but this is covered by extended warranty. 4. Not cheap but similar to IS. 5. Go for the premier ! It's lovely and luxurious. Good luck in your search!
  11. I have a 2014 GS premier. The leather on the seats is beautiful and soft. However, I am not sure if the leather on the door cards and armrests are real. They feel lovely but different from the seats. It's definitely not alcantara but not sure what it is!
  12. Can't remember the last time I looked at the instruments! It's really handy when driving in Europe when switched to kmph. Maybe we should keep this quiet. Don't want him getting jealous! Whatever, he'll enjoy the quiet sofistication of the GS. Have always thought it as a down-market LS rather than an upmarket IS.
  13. Still well equipped and very comfortable. I'm lucky to have the premier which has the HUD. Something I couldn't live without now!
  14. Three years ago I was planning on upgrading my IS220d with an IS300h but took a GS300h for a test drive. Was smitten and haven't looked back. This is a keeper as I can't think of anything else I would rather have!
