  1. Nope , not yet , tbh I was more curious as to how they work?
  2. I was browsing for suspension bits for my car and saw ARB mounts for the IS on the ProLex site , that relocate the ARB.. TTE or TRD I think... Apparently they improve the handling? Anyone any experience of these?
  3. None of them will make it any faster , the Redex and Wynns I've used on other cars , that hadn't been well maintained and they seemed to smoothen some rough running .

I took mine apart completely , took out the bolt , and found a worn section in the centre of the slot that wasn't letting me adjust the settings . Cleaned that with a die-grinder and file , put a smear of oil on everything , and re-assembled all . Much easier now to adjust the toe , even with the wheels on the ground .
  5. Hi all , long time since I posted... just wondering whats the quietest of the available back boxes for the IS200 ? I prefer induction roar to exhaust boom... I cut up my OE back box and "de-baffled" it before , but now its rotten... Or does anyone have a cheapo rear silencer hanging around? Thanks , Tristan .
  6. i fitted one too , omfg I hardly need headlights anymore!
  7. just be careful if you do so that the accelerator cable isn't stretching when the pedal is fully pressed , really the way to adjust it is to have someone hold the throttle pedal to the floor , while you adjust the cable so as to have a fully open throttle only at that point.
  8. Is it just me , or do the primaries look to be all different lenghts? and to be short ?
  9. I asked this a loooooooong time ago , and the general consensus was that it wasn't needed .
  10. Well!! It's back! And it's cured! mostly..... Here in Ireland we have a mandatory car test called the NCT , like an MOT but genuinely 10 times tougher , and is not done by garages . Anyway , mine just passed! Woo hoo . Now... the handling is almost 100% back to normal , found a few things that I'll share with you lot . 1. I took off the practically new Federal , 215/50 17s off the back , and the worn 215/45 17 SP9000 Dunlops off the front . Replaced all on a set of refurbed wheels , with Yokohama S Drives , new compound , 215/45 17 all round . 2. Had it up on the 2 post lift , found the offset washers for the toe adjuster bolts on the RHS rear were 180 degrees off from one another! The front one "high" side up , rear "high" side down. Fixed them both the same . 3.Fixed this problem , , spent a good hour and a half but got the folded edges almost like new .4. Found a small bit of play in the front inner LHS tie rod , duly replaced it . Now , it's once again a pleasure to drive! Next things to do are Tax it (560 Euro!! :tsktsk: ) , 4 wheel alignment , and a serious detailing!
  11. Took the words out of my mouth! However I have noticed eff-all difference in mpg driving with the aircon on or off. I think it makes a greater difference on small engined cars that have say 50-70 bhp , the approx 5bhp or so driving the aircon is a much larger percentage of the total engine output.
  12. I'm currently running Mintex's , but have found them lacking in feel , plus they're 2/3s worn now . I see from thesearch function TOMS get a good rating on the IS200 , what else is good for fast road use?
  13. sorry meant to add , its a 2002 , 50k miles , never had to replace any suspension bushes yet.
  14. Was poking and prodding the rear of my baby (oo-er missus!) tonite , and saw a bit of movement on the rear subframe mounts , not a lot mind... is this normal?
  15. Any competent mechanic could make up a new , better more direct earth strap in about 3 minutes , I do it all the time here on the older vans that come into the workshop . No need for fancy imported Cables!
  16. Getting mine done by the 'Doctor , 75 per wheel , including diamond cutting.
  17. Well Gang , my Is is getting reshod , with new Yokohamas and also getting the wheels refurb'd , anyone use spacers to push the wheels out in the arch a bit? I'm on standard 5 spoke 17's . Any suggestions on size of spacer , or stories good or bad?
  18. Here in Ireland Tesco are launching 99 RON soon , and from next month Maxol will be selling 99.2 with 5% ethanol content , at about 1.20 Euro/litre . which is what , 76 pence?
