  1. If you decide to touch it up yourself in the meanwhile , use a toothpick/cocktail stick instead of a brush, and drop a small drop of paint into the chip. Remember its easier and neater to add more than to remove too much.....Don't wash or polish the car for a week after.
  2. The OE horns should be relayed already , so as long as you don't try and wire up 15 different Fog horn types , you should be OK. If you do , you may have found a novel addition to the heating system.......Burning electrics! Seriously tho' a signal horn draws a fair whack of current.
  3. Regards to all from us over here inIRELAND B) :)
  4. As stated bt the guys above, sort your induction and your exhaust. An engine is like a lung , the easier (to a point!) it can breathe in (Cold) air and breathe out spent gases , the better it performs. The "Chip Tuning" merely adjusts the computer setings to make the best use of the improved breathing. TDI have free flow filters for your car , or indeed a Complete induction kit , as for exhausts , they do a De-catted manifold , and complete systems . Also Mat C (Supracharged IS340) is getting Manifolds and systems made too. Or you could just go buy a Supercharger........ Hope that helps some buddy.
  5. I think ZEE :zee: might be doing a GB on these soon....
  6. Yep , but I'll probably get some bends and flexible exhaust piping from Bosal. Its quite cheap and saves some of the hassle. I have some (and access to a lot more) fabrication equipment. Any links to pics , to save my lazy butt from searching? If memory serves me rightly I think Yemgi posted some pics some time ago..?
  7. With the aforementioned d'you get an increase or decrease in noise? I'd be tee-ing into the system ahead of the diff' , and coming thru a 2nd box , on the Lhs. I don't want much of an increase , cos' the precats will be gone very soon ... Or have i lost my mind and is there a simpler method?
  8. Without a missus there is no today, and without a son there is no tomorrow'. Regards and best wishes mate , Tristan.
  9. Plus I'm in Ireland , so it has to be a ready to fit item.
  10. Yeah Mat , I rang 'em first, just looking for other suppliers to compare prices.
  11. Before I get the abuse , its not mine , I wouldn't as much as buy Petrol for one, but I've a mate looking for Performance Back Box (A waste , IMO ) for a '99 Corsa, preferably Remus, anyone know where to get a competitive price?
  12. I won't be drinking and driving anyway, 'cos "Shock, Horror" I don't drink alcoholic drinks at all! And yes , I am Irish and still living in /ireland! I broke the mould..... :P PS I'd love any cool smilies like the ones above , please. :)
  13. Just for your information , I got an E-mail from K 'n N telling me that they're now making Panel Filters fo r the IS 200. I can't recall what price tho' ;)
  14. We all continue to be amazed at Mat's intuition............ :P :D
  15. Can anyone PM or post me some pictures of a standard IS Exhaust , particularly the bottom end , preferably one that is off of an engine as I need some measurements. Or else tell me where to search in the site. Ta very muchly .
  16. I know this is a bit but as Colin said VVT-i doesn't kick in , what you feel 4200 is the ACIS valve in the inlet plenum opening , which isn't controlled by the cams.
  17. Going by the retro fit Foglamp I'd say a Jap imported car , and the no. plate font looks like a very typical German style that I get to see a lot of.
  18. I've been using my Heat Gun , I was wondering if Turps or White Spirits would do .
  19. Civic Civic Civic Civic Civic Civic! And closely followed by Glanza/Starlet Turbos (or StarBo's as we call 'em over here) :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack: :yack:
  20. Starting dismantling my lamps this evening , with a view to getting them dark chromed. The first one was a pig to do , I wasn't using enuf heat , being afraid of doing harm. Now what d'you recommend to remove the old glue (or should that be industrial strenght Cement!)
  21. Thats great Steve , normally the dad gets the wrong end of the stick. :) Mine would be making my parents proud of me when I finished with the Highest marks ever from School , being a top 3 finalist in the Irish Young Engineer of the year , and winning the 100 National Karting C'Ship after a massive (and painful -Had to learn how to walk, again) accident , not for the Glory but for the look in me Da's eyes when he hugged me... We'veboth got petrol and oil in our veins , you see...
  22. Coloured metal plate does'nt exactly sound sexy either does it?! :P
  23. Who's got Wind Deflectors on an IS ? And what makes / prices are there? I know ClimAir do 'em , but don't know the price in Europe , they're available stateside for $45... Possible GB?
