  1. From comments previously posted , it would appear WIM can check out EVERTHING on the suspension , front and rear! As well as checking brakes and so forth...
  2. I doff my cap to you Sir..... :)
  3. In My experience............ BMW = lots of garage visits!
  4. From my dabbling in VW's , OEM or OEM+ modifying is usually when owners only fit Original Manufacturers parts to their cars , in the LOC world it would be like fitting LS screenwashers to your IS Bonnet , GS300 brakes onto an IS200 etc etc
  5. Mr WIM , I'm not super technically minded , could you please explain this to me in laymans terms? Very interesting reading on the WIM site... http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/ Just I'm curious as to what caster does for steering feel .
  6. I have , but a while back , maybe if i get them rechecked , and pm you the settings?
  7. Cheers for that , Any chance of a link WIM? I would love to get you do it , but seeing as I'm here in Southern ireland..
  8. Doh , my bad , posted in wrong IS subforum! Sorry admin.
  9. quick one... does an OE "sport" LSD fit straight into a non Sport model , with no problems bolting in, or hiccups with the Traction control , etc?
  10. My IS has been off the road for a while , and now it's getting some TLC ... new tyres , suspension etc . My query is , are the OE suspension settings best for handling , or are there proven tweaks that improve the set-up? My biggest fault would be the lack of steering feel , I was wondering if more caster would improve this? Or , once again , am I mad? :shutit:
  11. Can I ask what brand they are? 'Cos I'm looking for sensibly priced ones too .
  12. The car is now much better , the tuner (TrackDayPerformance on Co.Wicklow, Ireland) also fitted a bespoke cold air intake , made in stainless , with the filter on the intake , in the space in between the inner pastic wheelarch and the front bumper , sucking air from the (enlarged) scoop/vent beside the RHS foglight. Combined with the S-AFC2 I now have 23bhp up on before. Funny thing is, both mine and another IS200 , on the same DynaPack only showed 140 bhp....the other car is 2yrs older than mine...and the Dyno isn't reading low , as several other cars gave the proper bhp at a meet we had lately.
  13. Cheers all , done and dusted , S-AFC II, fitted and car set up properly on a DynaPack.
  14. I have....purely to p1ss off a crowd of car hating bikers!
  15. Dunno...it pains me to say it but the new Turbo D's arre getting ever more impressive...take B*W's 535 thats coming out..3.0 with 27-something bhp! and enought torque to spin the earth backways! Even Toyotas new 1.4 T-D Corolla will have 90 bhp!
  16. My car is geting tweaked up a wee bit today (finally!) , Whereabouts is the ECU located in the car ? 2002 IS 200 N/A. Thanks in advance
  17. I've a Pittura Sport one , It fits nicely , but they're awfully flimsy! I filled mine with expanding foam to strenghten it , before bonding it on with Windscreen sealer.
  18. why Mat? you reckon it would foul the steering shaft?
  19. The dampers are new genuine Lexus ones , fitted by the dealer ... Mebbe I'll go for a set of Spax or some Coilovers, on the rear only.
  20. Here's the story: I've lowered my (standard) IS on Eibachs by 30mm...The front is grand , both for height and handling , but the rear is causing me concern. Basically the car feels very soft on the rear , I even had to put a skid plate on the exhaust it was bottoming out so much! Two up , in the front , it feels OK , but put any load into the boot , or carry any rear passengers , it feels very wallowy and crashy , hitting the bump stops far too easily. I don't drive it hard on bad roads , mostly cos I can't ! BTW the dampers were replaced all round only a couple of thousand miles ago under warranty by the dealer...... I'd also like if the rear was a tad lower say 10-15 mm..... What do you guys and gals reckon? Coilovers? Bear in mind , the roads are pathetic in places around home....
  21. same problem here.....an oven would help , i reckon.
  22. I did a similar mod to my lights some months back , but I got the surrounds rechromed in a darker chrome , I didn't notice any loss in light output whatsoever either , and it looks much better/meaner IMHO. I also did the fog lamps the same way , they're easier to take apart than the headlights btw...
  23. Look like tasty bits of kit , I missed this before , are there any left? And how much?
