  1. Yh it's crazy. Can't wait for part 2 of the video.
  2. I'd probably go for a spin late at night. In my area we have plenty of 100-120 feet wide quiet roads with no vehicles parked on the sides. There should be no noise from the tyres and the engine is pretty quiet as it is. Just a bit of fun really without being a menace to the society.
  3. Camry is nice but I wish Toyota would bring Crown to the UK. It has so many options and interior similar to that of a Lexus LS but since it will be serviced at Toyota you won't be ripped off by the dealers. Also comes in smaller engine sizes.
  4. It's normal. Synthetic oil burns quicker than your average traditional oil.
  5. Fair enough. In that case if my experience in the Lexus LX470 is anything to go by then you can easily exceed the speed on the dial as the car keeps pulling. If you can hit 160 in 5th I am pretty sure there's room for more speed.
  6. Yes it was but then they stopped offering the option during the last 2 years of production, citing lack of demand. Oh I see, I personally think the car looks a lot better with the sunroof. Hope they are popular this time round in the UK.
  7. The IS-F is supposed to be electronically limited to 170 MPH too but I have seen plenty of videos that show it doing more than that. Maybe a MOD is required to achieve this. Don't see why an automobile manufacturer would put out false information.
  8. The sunroof was an option on the 2nd gen IS too. It never went away. It was ridiculously priced and made head room worse hence didn't sell well.
  9. Your EGR valve probably needs cleaning. Use the search button and you shall find plenty of threads explaining it.
  10. My first thoughts: - Front too pointy. Don't like the grill. - Rear diffuser looks out of place. - Rear reflectors look silly too. - Interior is excellent.
  11. Those wheels are optional. I have seen them on plenty of 250's.
  12. Better throttle response and stiffer steering. The transmission also downshifts quicker when you are slowing down so that you are in an appropriate gear in case you want to blast off.
  13. I would agree with Matt here. It's because of the MPG!! Same reason an Audi A4 2.0 TDI usually fetches more than an Audi A4 2.7 TDI. People are anal over MPG these days and It's no secret that MPG on Lexus vehicles sucks. The Hybrid IS due to be launched soon will probably hold its value much much better than the previous generations.
  14. I find the cup-holders fairly convenient for anything I may want to store. For anything else that I would rather not have on display the armrest storage is ideal.
  15. Good choice man. A8's are pretty much as rare as Lexus's so at least you won't be a face in the crowd. My only concern with Audi was the fault prone CVT transmission but I think they have managed to fix it on the 2009> cars. Happy motoring!
  16. People who buy cars like these don't just sit at home and buy it. Usually they are traders/mechanics or are accompanied by mechanics so have a fairly good idea of what they are getting into. Depending on how much it goes for this car could be good value. It looks like an easy repair. < 1000 Miles sounds good too.
  17. If I recall correctly, the VED Band Ratings changed sometime during the end of the first quarter in 2006. If the car you are looking at was registered before this then you should be fine. Ask for the registration date and double check with the owner/dealer just in case. The road tax for 12 months should be 270.
  18. I remember my dad getting this installed on his car roughly 15ish years ago. It came as a complete keyless entry system with a receiver which was installed somewhere under the steering wheel. It was expensive back in the day but I really doubt it being expensive now. The start/stop button on the remote was under a flap so you did not press it by accident. I remember that in those days the kit was sold for automatics only because they had not figured out a way to stop the car from starting if it was in gear on a manual transmission. With all the advancements in technology this must have changed now.
  19. I am looking to upgrade to 19 too. I think it's a good idea to find out what weight the 17" rims are and see if we can get something of a similar weight or lighter. When I upgraded the wheels on my previous vehicle the aftermarket wheels were considerably heavier, so much that there was an obvious lag in acceleration.
