Hi all just a update on the 450 i bought a month ago but would just like a bit of advice from you seasoned 450 owners mine is a 450h SE L 2010 i had a bit of trouble starting it if it wasnt run every day over one weekend it was not run as we were at local pub on the monday it would not start got clicking back of dash anyway i contacted Lexus who said sounds like battery 12v one. They quoted 220 for the battery as it was a special battery with vents and other safety bits so i said reluctantly ok. its now ok there but while i was looking at the boot i noticed (i may be wrong) the struts for the boot had the piston on the body and the cylinder fixed to the boot lid im sure my 300 was opposite does any of you guys know if that is correct. I checked on the Sat Nav update and its £130 for the key and 30 min loading it so i soppose another £50 The wiper blades look like they smearing so i will have to get a pair of those ( is there any after market ones) as these are the flat ones Oh well the joy of 450s but in truth it will soon be sorted and is running perfectly now it as to be perfect for me and it will be. Hi As anyone updated the HDD sat nav as mine is still the 2010 version i thought it would be easy just get a dongle with update on and away you go but on investigation ive heard its a dealer only option And any idea of the cost for the 450h thanks Robert

Yes Mark i do at my speeds its 36 but when i bought the car it was pressured at 31 all round im sure that that is too low so i pumped up to 36 and got the harsh ride , It was not harsh when i drove it on pre sale but i did drive steady in it and only once took it up to about 60. My old gs300 ran very good at 32 all round but they were 17in wheels it does seem to be ok running at 34 ive now put in but as you remarked it is a heavy car and i may leave the fronts at 34 and increase rear to 36 i just thought someone may have experimented and saved me reinventing wheel so to speak Thanks all

Hi all I would assume this question as been asked before but i cant find refrence to it What tyre pressure do you gents run your 450s on the reason i ask is that at around 75 i get a bit of vibration at the front doesnt seem to be from the steering wheel and i had the balance checked and that was ok the pressure on mine is 36 all round but when i bought the car the dealer said after i noticed the fronts were a bit worn he would put new tyres on front well he did, but the tyres are named Radar which i have never heard of. The car runs great upto 75 then this vibration starts as though the tyres are not running true i dont usually go beyond 75/80 its not massive vibration i would say its a harsh ride really i did think to drop to 34 but they are low profile as you all know and thought it would make the tyre walls a bit wobbly TIA Robert

glove box as now been repaired at Lexus Sheffield They had got it done before I had drunk the Complimentary Coffee Now opens slowly does not slam open

Ive decided to take it to Lexus Sheffield as i wasnt sure how to take Glove box out. I did take the side dashboard cover of and all the mechanism is , is a piece of string well Nylon with a ferrule on to make a loop that fits around a screw one side of the string as pulled through the the ferrule so as become detached the string is attached to a plastic cylinder at back of box must just be a spring i would assume

Glad you sorted mate Its soul destroying when something like that happpens But after he as paid for it ask what right he as to turn round in your drive That happend to me but the van knocked my Wall pillar down

Hi all Ive noticed that my glove box just drops open when you open it does any one know if the damper is easily replaced I cant see if there is one though. I did notice it on the test drive but never gave it another thought My Gs300 just opened slowly and controled and i never noticed what the mechanism was that did it. Its either broke or missing can any one help TIA Robert

Well ive had the 450 H 3 weeks now and i must say its running superb beyond my expectation I thought the CVT would not suit me but it most certainly does. It is smooth as silk( however my last gs300 was also smooth i might add) I dont charge about i just like to waft along and it does this in almost silence even with the engine running. I am getting 27 around town etc and on a long trip to hull i got 38 but i dont do starship mileage so its no problem i have stopped checking that now as it is of no concern to me. I contacted the last owner who was a very pleasant man A Company director he said and told me that the car has been faultless and as i had all the history only concern i had was on the last service said rear caliper was seized and as i saw no refrence to it being changed i asked him about it " Oh that yes i told them to change it but the mechanic freed it of with no charge"so all in all i think i have got a gem it is in lovely clean condition and not a mark on it and only done 44k Well pleased Thanks to all who said Get one, as i said i was worried about the CVT Robert

John its not the exhuast heat shield is it my gs300 had similar garage put bigger washers on it to hold tight

I am not too pleased with the tyres and i must sort them I came out of the car wash on friday and the back end let go very scary but was ok after the back end slide but ive never heard of the make 2 brand new Radar 245ZR4018 on front , rear are JINYU same size after research it as not got very good reviews one said absolutely dangerous they will have to go Any ideas of a good make that is primarily quiet i also found out in the book ZR rating is only for Left hand drive cars should be R 93Y I had TOYO proxes on the GS300 were very good and whisper quiet but for this size not a good report I am sure some one can advise Thanks Robert

decided to go with the Black 450-SE-L I am really pleased with it one small chip on bonnet but i can live with that runs superb but like Mike's, the motor was a bit late coming in and im only averaging 23 on gauge but all seems ok with the exception of the Dab Radio theres only one Station Radio 4 and i like my GOLD but cannot get it. I didnt notice the subtle Dab ariel on front screen I would have thought they would have had a better solution and its in the horizontal Position as any one got any ideas over the reception I did find out tho that the Radar Cruise etc was a 3.3k option no wonder not many about Robert

Car is running perfectley well pleased But.......... I got 4k Pex for my car its up for 595 at the same dealer looks that good i could have bought it back but it was in good nick and i looked after it well ahhh well thats life i suppose

Hi Rob Glad its ok with the car i picked mine up Friday last. Am well pleased with it mind mine asnt got ACC and PCS and no Sunroof but nonetheless im over moon with it But my first job monday morning is to take it to my friends Lad who as a Tyre business and have the air taken out and filled with nitrogen which gives a better ride and doesnt lose pressure. But they have to put green caps on to denote they are filled with nitrogen thats why yours as green caps up to you of course but dont under any circumstances put metal caps on as the first time you take it of it will snap your valve as the metal caps react with the aluminium of the valves upto you of course but i swear by nitrogen in the tyres as i said first job tomorrow

I finally did the deal bought a 450 sel really impressed with it was apprehensive on first drive for 300 mts or so as it run just on battery eerily quiet it felt i had no control being as there was no sound but after the first 300 metres or so it came into its own its another black one but in truth i do like the black You convinced me Mike Robert

Glad you got it sorted and to your liking Rob Im in negotiations with a black 60 plate up here ive had a look and looks ok but couldnt have a drive of it as it s Batteries were flat it also didnt have sun roof but its not end of world. But looked ok it had a blue flake in it said he had put 2 front tyres on I couldnt find out if the TPWS was ok because of the Batteries as the Sensors can be damaged if not done correctly Mind i will know tomorrow Robert

but make sure you tighten it correctly at least 6 to 10 clicks

I had this same problem last year it came on after my son had borrowed the car to go and see his brother i too was told by Lexus it could be something to do with the VVT could be expensive I called in at fuel station and when i took of the fuel cap it felt like it was cross threaded it wasnt damaged but felt strange he did tell me " Ive put £10 of fuel in Dad" I bought a new cap as i too had heard this on the US sites about faulty seal on cap The light as never come on since

Yes Rob that might have been me as when i rang they said " well we have had a lot of enquiries if you put a refundable deposit of £50 it will be reserved for you" but in truth i dont think they had and i havent got it back yet By the way did you get a good discount with the haggle i did look at that one on trader but it looked white and i didnt think it was me but it did look tasty if thats what you like Robert

yes Mark i think you may be right it could have been a dog that had done it because it was in a right state i thought it had been slashed origionaly When i got home and told wife she said " If you had part exed that they would have given you rock bottom price and Said it will have to go auction" I agreed with her Mike you came from 300 to 450 was the insurance much more i have full no claim was 305 last Oct for mine Robert

Mike Are you satisfied with the car, is there anything untoward with them As my car is a 55 i wanted one a bit newer but 300s finished in 2009 so i thought ide go for a 2010/11 SE L im still apprehensive but i am sure ill get my head round it when one pops up ive seen one 30 ml from here but its black same as mine but in truth i do like black so wont be too much of a deal if its right got 43 k on it and also Dab radio Another point Mike the one i saw at Leciester had 2 keys plus a credit type key i dont know what that does as i never stopped when i saw the condition of it Another point do they have Daylight running litghs Robert

Yes Carl thanks for the comment the most frustratring thing was he only offered 3.5k for my gs300 which in excellent condition said we cant sell the 300s now im going to see one at mansfield on monday it looks ok i do want a 450 but not one that as been abused By the way Carl are they quiet as i noticed they have 18 wheels with low profile and usually you get tyre noise with low profile my gs is whisper quiet with Toyo proxes on thanks Robert
