  2. fill the car up and make sure gas tank cap fully on for some unexplained reason this happens if you run it low on fuel it will go off after a few restarts
  3. As Micheal says you may have found your problem if plug is taped up that doesnt bode well for the plug being watertight
  4. the one on the sensor at back of grill but i havnt got a 450h I was just wondering that if it has had a clout it may be dislodged worth a try surely robert

  11. Hi all I am thinking of changing my 55 gs300 for a 10 gs450 are they a good car My 300 is silky smooth and quiet is the CVT more noisy I have read somewhere that it is allways reving as though not sure what gear it is in I also note it as lower profile tyres does this make more road noise does the hybrid cause any problems My Gs 300 runs perfectly i must admit but i have had it 3.5 years now and thought i would change up I hope i can get a good report from you gs450 owners Thank You Robert
  12. have you had the trim off around the gear lever as the tpms cpu is under there it could not have been connected or cable trapped worth checking reason why i say this when i purchased my car that light was on and nothing would turn it off so i walked away man said ill knock 200 of price and you can get it sorted yourself He then rang me and tried again to sell it me but i said you get it error free and ill think about it Any way the upshot was he did put it into Lexus stoke who said the CPU as gone cost 500 so they did it But i did ring him and asked if it was a common problem and he said people disturb the plug/wires fitting stuff in there So now it was fixed and i bought no trouble since
  13. Thanks for that Giedrius I got local garage to put some large washers like you said and all done charged me 15 pound I did price one up at Lexus £64 for a peice of bacofoil good god whats it coming to, how they could justify that is beyond me robert
  14. Came from dropping off Neibour i had window down and heard rattle from back I thought something serious but on inspection when i got home it was the rear silencer Heat shield hanging off I helped it off and the holes have corroded bigger and was ready for falling off The question will it be ok to run without it or do i need to replace it TIA Robert
  15. Yes Mike thats the way thanks for sharing I wager there are loads of gs s running round with that lever broke Even dealers break them Best thing to do is lock glove box when took for service and change it yourself mine was broken after it first sevice in my ownership they said they didnt break it but they repaired it with a repair kit that you can now buy from Lexus only requires glovebox out the did it in less than an hour Robert
  16. Hi Giles Yes on further thought i too concur that it will not be possible it was just that the clunky old 600/400 display annoys me but not the end of the world Thanks for your reply Robert

  21. Hi all As anyone had a Dab Addon fitted and what make as im thinking of getting one but looks like a jungle out there Gs300 55 reg thanks
  22. Colin i too thought that was the case but the tech said the converter cant be drained they charged me for 3 litres of fluid
  23. Just like to pass on my experience at Toyota Dealership I had been contemplating a fluid change as my car as now reached 85kand have read around this mileage the solonoids can get lazy with old fluid maybe an alarmist knee jerk reaction but i contacted lexus said yes we can change it around 200. I thought as the toyota garage is only 2 miles from me ill contact them their answer was of course we can change it 69.99 fixed price so i gave them go ahead but when i got there said would be 2 hour job The tech brought me a little phial of the fluid and it was as black as coal he said certainly wanted changing any way job is done and car seems to change gear really seamlessly ill not say its a vast improvement but there is a difference in how it changes gear kickdown seems crisper Robert
