Maybe you have checked are you sure 12v battery is fully charged they run down very quick and can still show 12/13 volts but not enough to generate enough to power the start up ecu's i had same problem when i had a dash cam fitted doors open interior lights on etc fitter said we will just charge battery then see he came back next day and it was away

update on the wind noise After a lot of digging round ( thanks to Britprius on another topic) i found the following The scuttle were the wiper shafts comes through is a bit loose in asmuch as i can move it laterely about 1/4 of inch either way and the rubber seal just left of pass wiper shaft is raised above screen, on both sides of the screen the side moulding that runs from boot over roof down screen to wing at the bottom can also be moved as though a clip is not fitted or broke (Ive read somewhere that the clips are one use only) its same on both sides and also there is a clip hole at back of inverter that is missing its only small half inch long by eighth high the screen looks perfect no distortion but doesnt say Lexus on it it says Solarlux and some foreign writing And ShatterPrufe (thats how its spelt) So i suspect its had a screen in before i bought it my question is Can i get the clips and can it be reinstalled (Scuttle and side mouldings) without taking out the screen as it dosent look like its a Cheapo one also the auto wipers are not as sensitive as i would have hoped i have heard something about a gel pad . And as i said before around the b roads etc there is no wind intrusion but if i get upto around 70/80 i can start to hear it my previous gs300 was whisper quiet wind wise TIA Robert

Hi John I have had a look under bonnet and have found that the clip holding skuttle at back of inverter thingy is not there the hole is half inch long by 1 eighth high so i assume it should have some sort of clip in and it can move a little horizontal (the skuttle) but just between the wippers were the air intake is the seal is away from the glass i know the glass will be sealed but i get a wind type noise in front of dash were the centre vents are so was wondering if its turbulence on the seal that i can hear. I checked the screen and it doesnt say Lexus on it Just solar??????? ( something) and Laminated so it looks like its had a new screen in its Lifetime i think Robert

John Could you elaborate on the squeaking under bonnet as sometimes i seem to get some sort of squeak every now and then from there I have not put any felt on inside between Dash and Window as i dont think its that I was over moon when i got it as it had no rattles/sqieaks whatsover and this only happens occasionaly unlike my gs 300 that had felt, full length of dash it did cure it mind I have had a cursuray look and cant seem to see what would squeak TIA Robert

will you be taking it back to dealer john if they broke they should fix it

Alan First have you got the DAB Module installed As mine is a 2010 it may be different on mine i put it into Tune mode then Update and away it goes but you wont know what stations you hav and on mine till i turn the File/Tune Knob on the radio then I can put each station onto the Station list i have also got it set to auto tune in case it needs to retune but as you have a later model yours may be different so a vist to dealer maybe your best bet unless someone can chip in Along Display I Have PTY TEXT UPDATE on right side Tune TimeShift and another which i cant recall and of course the 6 presets Robert

Must say that mine as the parking lines but the switch for mine is on the right side of the display

I had same when i got mine could hardly get anything on at all and was very upset all this for DAB and it wouldnt work But i just did the retune and violla all stations working am really pleased with it It may have been tuned for a different area HTH Robert

Hi Carl Thanks for reply I think you may be correct I had been to Hull and was on way back when i noticed it I was tramping on a bit and it was very windy as i recall and also i put some new blades on last week and they are not fully down i didnt realise that could cause noise but even the wife said are they the right blades they look different. It was just the motorway journey that i noticed it I cant hear noise on the B roads so you may well be correct Thanks Robert

I am getting wind noise through drivers door and there seems to be wind noise coming from centre top of dash i thought it was from centre dash vent but i dont think it is as if i close it it is still there its driving me scatty is there a cure or can it be adjusted some way TIA Robert

John on mine its covered by a flap next to the power point it also as a 3,5 plug as well But on my previous 55 gs300 there wasnt one so there was not many options apart from the cassette adapter this one is overkill Memory stick,3.5 plug HDD BT CD i use the BT when iam in strange place so i can use the CAMERAELERT app on my IPhone and music too you may need to get one of those gizmos Vaisitech that plugs into back of radio giving you BT and iphone i did think of one when i had gs300 but just used the cassette adapter it did work for me mind HTH Robert

John I did this about 3 or 4 years ago when i first got the iphone i tried on numerous occasions to transfer them over from iphone but to no avail, i asked all over the place phone shops etc and was told it was impossible to do however i persisted and found the info on one of the US forums if i recall correctly . As to your question i have a gmail address and my daughter gave me a Honor 6 to try out ( as she works for a Mobile Phone Co) when i connected the android to the PC it asked if i wanted the Contacts Loading on from IPhones i said yes and they just came on. I then used the info to set phone up to car (Android One) and it just loaded them into car Phone book I then reverted to IPhone (as it is a smaller phone than the Honor 6 ) and contacts stayed in car i then deleted the Honor from system but it was 4 years ago When i got the 450 it just put everything in itself contacts and set it up to play music by BT from phone all i did was pair it and that was it Robert

I too have that model and i am over the moon with mine the music options are endless as well as the trouble free motoring i am experiencing now i have discovered the gearbox options it fits my bill perfeclly

The way i did it on my 55 gs300 was to get a android phone with my contacts in and transfer that which it did with ease then reinstall the iphone 4 i had and left the phone book still in the car system and it worked perfectly

You dont think you have picked something up of the road that is hanging down and swinging like a pendulum or something hanging of and catching body, sounds weird to me or maybe sticking caliper that as got hot and cooling down as you stood i think i would have the wheel off and have a good look round

It could be the fuel pump ticking there is a cover you can get for it part num 12606-38010 and 12605 its in two parts if you cant hear it in car with window up thats what it is

As rick said its usually the rear screen with a damaged element Clean screen then boil kettle put unpluged kettle on parcel shelf screen will steam up then switch heated screen on and you will see the break you can get silver conductive paint from motor factors or some conductive tape cut it to width etc to make neat job and job will be done HTH Robert

Well I Never Thanks to ZOTTO (Luigi) I had set the sound system for the DAB Radio And thought it was the same for all Sources What a Lemon I am and me who prides himself reading all manuals for everything after setting everything for the different sources I am amazed at the difference it as made eg on the CD I have put a bit more rear on and it sounds like I am in a Concert Hall Wow what a difference it as made the original settings were all over as i said i thought it was one setting for everything Still cant get over how i have missed that individual settings Thanks all who took the time to answer i am grateful Regards Robert

Thanks all for your comments i did figure out that i could use the S position for the gears for braking but my point was leaving it in drive did not operate like the torque convertor lock that is on a conventional auto box i didnt think that it would of course and i have adapted my driving style to compensate this it was the ML that as me flummoxed i have since read that if you use dvd A audio discs it gives better sound but as i dont spend all my time now in the car its probably not that inportant i was just saying it didnt seem to be all that much better than standard stereo maybe i am getting on in years my ears cant distinguish the changes Robert

Hi all its a year on since i bought the gs and as been trouble free in that time its returned good mpg i have not exactly checked it but as been in mid 30s just about all year. I thought i would not get on with the CVT after reading all the stories but has been a seamless exercise however just one thing used to get to me was the lack of engine braking coming up to junctions etc i found i had to rely more on the brakes than the downshifts that a normal auto box does but now i have adapted and its no problem. It is whisper quiet and pulls like a train when i want it to with just a subtle roar as it accelerates away having said that i like my cars to be quiet all the time if possible. There is one point though which is the primary reason for my post I thought when i got it " Yes Mark Levinson System " but i am not that impressed with it i dont know if i have it set correctly but with the DSP button in the rear speakers seem muffled if i switch it off it the sound in rear comes on so I dont think theres any problem with the amp i am getting on a bit and i do like the "Golden oldie Type" but i thought it would be better, i use original discs I have one MP3 disc in and i cant tell the difference between Normal Disc and Copied music i had a GS300 before this and i dont think The Sound is any different to the ML so could any one shed any light on this.
